  • Cher is flawless.

  • This one is better than Anne Murray's version! But I can not believe that this song is from when she was with Sonny! I thought at first that she sang this when she was with Greg! Didn't you guys think that too?

  • I think Anne Murray brought more to this song. It is so special...and fragile.

  • She looks like Olivia from Popeye jajajajaj XD

  • you had a gril an now your gril is a boy

  • Thumbs up if you came here from masturbating.

  • love you yo...

  • I have to say Anne's version of this song is one of my all time favorite songs. I clicked expecting to hate. I have to say it's very, very good. Except for that dildo on her had.

  • Raped le Replay.

  • No finesse whatsoever. Cher sings every song like a blowhorn on a ferry.

  • i love Cher,, and hate to see her do a song that isnt hers,, but Anne Murray does it better than anyone,, in my opinion,, but opinions are like assholes,, we have one

  • I love Cher, she's so inspirational!

  • I liked her teeth back then before she got them capped! they were cute and origional

  • What a voice! Love it!

  • she looks like a who in whoville.. hahahaha

  • Lol I like when she says "Think I'm gonna have a son..." I wonder if she knew then she would one day have one, just long after the child's birth. rofl.

  • Cher massacred this Anne Murray classic.

  • why, I think it is a dildo!

  • Comment removed

  • @rachel19dustin: Uh. She had already had a son, by this time. So, obvious those lyrics don't fit with your lame joke. So stupid.

  • wtf..is that a dildo on the back of her head?

  • @erikakiedis it was the 70's. haha

  • ACTUALLY, SINCE WE'RE TALKING ABOUT PERFECTION HERE.... loggins & messina are the gods to this song

  • uhm why is cher hotter now?!

  • I dont care what anyone says..Cher did this song beautiful...wayy better than Anne Murray

  • I love Cher when i hear her i get a rush and stutter so sh sh sh she is gr gr gre gre great lol..

  • How 'bout we stop with the comments about comparing the two singers? It was done on the Sonny & Cher show because she wanted to sing it. Singers sing songs they like. Cher still did a good job.

    k? :)

  • "And He will be like you and me, as free as a dove, conceived in love, the Sun is 'gonna shine above."

  • Cher needed to reimagine this song. Like Murray, Cher's such a wonderful singer. I expected something different. I just watched Loggin's perform it from 1981, and it's terrific! He *means it. This is Anne Murray's song because she means it. All Cher does is sing it.

  • I love Cher,, but I agree with the other posts,, this song belongs to Anne Murray,, the only other singer who did it OK was Martina McBride,, but that was just OK and Martina McBride is awsome at every other song,, sometimes you shouldn't mess with perfection

  • Just gross compared to one of the best altos in recording history - ANNE MURRAY!

  • Anne murray owns this song...Cher doesn't even come close. It should be remembered that Loggins wrote Anne's first Grammy-winner - "A Love Song". This song belongs to Anne - ask Loggins!

  • i luv cher! if u dnt hav anything nice to say say nothin at all!!!!! she should hav a new tv show

  • people can say wutever the **** they want not just good or nothing at all no no no freedom freedom FREEDOM. but, never the less no worries, im still in love with you honey everything will be alright

  • o...

  • awkward aint it

  • i hear shes actually really close with her daughter who is an outspoken lesbian.

  • Somehow I don't think motherhood was one of Cher's driving forces. I could be wrong since I don't know her personally.

  • i have this on dvd and i love it, its also ironic that she sings "think im gonna have a son" cuz she was pregnant with elijah then.

  • How exactly is that ironic?

  • I second that. How's that ironic? Alanis Morissette ruined everything.

  • Cher wore a lot of crazy wacky costumes, some very revealing for the times, people talked about what she wore back in the day this was on-however some were wacked!

  • I like it, but I think Murray's and Loggin's versions are better:)

  • I think that's Loggins and Messina. Could be wrong though

  • I like Cher and I really like this song. Somehow though this doesn't seem to fit with Cher's singing style and vocal range. She could have done a lot better at selecting the song she chose to sing. I'm not dissing it at all or insulting her. I'm giving some good criticism...

  • why is everyone dissing this?

    its amazing

  • I AGREE!! This sounds great!! Why does everyone hate it!?

  • beautiful ! ! ! !

  • Her hair looks so fucking stupid...i just can't imagine what the fuck would inspire it.How could people just let her rock it looking so fucking dumb..

  • yes that was a very ugly look but very popular at the time many women wore that look , i think it was a twist on the old bee heive

  • the beggining wasnt very good to me,

but as it progressed it got wonderful:)

  • I am soooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry I really love cher's music but THIS FUCKING SUCKS THE DICK SHE GOT IN HER MOUTH AS SHE IS SINGING THIS SONG

  • I fuckin agree with ya as a huge cher fan haha:D

  • what the fuck is ur problem?? this shit is amazng

  • Beautiful. She's amazing with her voice. I agree with the last comment on her not being the best, but she does amazing all the same.

  • There are only a few artist that can do justice to different styles of music. Cher can do old standards, disco, rock, pop, R&B anything, she isnt the worlds best vocalist like a Celine or Mariah but her distinct voice can do justice to just about anything. watch clips from her old shows and listen to her sing with Patti LaBelle, David Bowie,Elton John,Ray Charles etc.

  • You absolutely right. People just think Cher can only belt out the pop-rock hits she's famous for. But if you watch and listen to some of her performances with soul & R&B acts like Patti and Ray, on the Cher show, she's awesome! You all need to see the clip here with her doing "Try a Little Tenderness" the Otis Redding classic, you will be amazed!

  • i fell in love with Cher just by watching this over and over again :)

  • man! classic...

  • Cher is one in a million!

  • Man, I love her voice!♥

  • boy she has all but ruined this song for me,

  • I agree that no one can sing it like Anne Murray, but the more I listen to Cher's version the more I love it!

  • except that Kenny Loggins guy who wrote it. :)

  • No one can sing it like Anne Murray.

  • ..i mean i DO like cher..but hell i like Mary J Blige too.....can you imagine HER singing this song?

  • some artists just shouldnt sing certain songs! nuff said

  • I heard that Kenny Loggins wrote this song, he sang it with Jimmy Messina....that was in the early 70's...and Macrame' was popular in 1971, because we made Macrame' belts in our art class in school, my freshman year!

  • your right

  • she was, obviously, in love with her boyfriend, at the time. i love cher! i saw her last concert ...dazzling!!!!

  • macrame' & dried ferns!!!!!!!!

  • FYI: Canadian songbird Anne Murray had a hit with this in 1972. Lovely upload, thanks from a Cher fan from way back!

  • beautiful ! ! ! ! ! !!!!!!!!!!!

  • wth....is she going for the Olive Oyle look?

  • Cher looks and sounds great.

  • ne saçma bi şarkı:D

  • There is NOBODY like CHER!

  • Great!, thanks for posting!

  • I LOVE YOU CHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HI, i am Danny

  • wow, it is great!!! if u have more, please upload!!!

  • just gross

  • This was taken in the early 80's dude

  • No Its was during the "Sonny And Cher" show in the 70's. Got the dvd

  • Nice white dress in a cool voice

  • God..i love Cher...

    :D

  • Wow what a nice production number...simple yet elegant. Go CHER!!

  • Tell Caesars Palace to sign Cher to do Vegas in 2008! Go to Lizsfilms profile and find her video on Cher doing Vegas in 2008 and sign the petition!!

  • The modulations in this song are gorgeous by this songstress. She knows how to pour angst into an impressive ballad. True skill. *pshhh "paying dues" ; CHER DOES A HELL OF A LOT MORE THAN PAY DUES*

  • I find it hilarious how Cher's voice is many octaves deeper than Kenny Loggins'

I also find the line "even though we ant got money" funny, considering Cher is rolling in more money than she has sense.

  • i actually don't like this version

anne murray i think did the best version of this song

  • An observation...if she had a rock band behind her it would have changed the mood and interpretation of the song completely! I watched these shows weekly when they were first broadcast. What I enjoyed the most was that Cher was placed in various musical scenarios from standards to pop. A real talent has no boundaries and she fits the mold beautifully

  • Cher is My Hero!

  • but John Denver did "Annie's Song" & yeah, with or with-out the letter "D" both Good. how about one's for your daughter & the other's for your son. V

  • If she had a rock band be hind her her style would be much more in place lol

  • The song is Danny's song, which was originally made by Loggins and Messina. John Denver did not write this song. He had nothing to do with this song.

  • Thanks lpfan07 - I updated the info.
