  • Where is Sam Kinison when you need him

  • probably smells great in there :-\

  • The gay rights protests about this movie in NYC were about the way they, the gay rights protesters, thought or assumed William Friedkin would portray gay men in this movie. But for those of us old enough to know and who were regulars in gay bars in the late 1970s and early 80s, the pre-AIDS years, "Cruising" is a pretty accurate depiction of the gay-bar scene and the urban gay liftestyle of that time in any large North American city. So I really don't know what the protesters were objecting to.

  • A tough guy like Al Pacino should have thought over and say what the fuck was I thinking

  • they all look like the warriors gang. funny cause ajax shows up later as fru fru as can be.

  • Do you remember your 1st Brokeback Mountain?I still haven't seen this all.BBM niether. But I remember both movies commoned, hairy legs, boots & me changing the channel.Just came up in a conversation about actual "crusin around"& started funnin'.So I make post.I remember calling a friend w/ money in my pocket for gas.So we could cruise.I hadn't seen the movie. He explained why we could no longer 'cruise'./After this we no longer thru a cruise. We went 'rolloin' instead.

  • Ethyl chloride, dear. This certainly wasn't amyl nitrate. Hint: ethyl-soaked cloth in Pacino's mouth. Poppers (amyl) was for the nose...

  • Oh. My. God.

  • What is Pacino doing at 0:23???

  • I'm willing to bet that 80% of those extra's from the bar scene are dead from AIDS....sad but true...

  • does the leather scene still exist i wonder

  • Pacino is my fucking hero man. Incredible actor..

  • Is this the Blue Oyster Bar? XD

  • go on son sniff that amyl ntrate and give it some!

  • Where was the Westboro Baptist Church during all this?

  • LOOKS LIKE HENRY WINKLER AS ARTHUR FONZARELLI DANCING OUT THERE WAS EXPECTING CARMINE RAGUSA FROM LAVERNE AND SHIRLEY TO COME TAP DANCING BEHIND HIM AND GRAB HIS ASS,OOPS DID SOMEONE FART OUT A GERBIL IN THIS PLACE?!

  • Al Pacino busting a move. Priceless.

  • Great film. Friedkin was one of the best directors of his day. The portrayal of Pacino's character, as he 'loses' his identity to the scene and begins to be fully (ass)imilated into, it is great! Groundbreaking in its day and still a thoroughly enjoyable film. I though Godfather III was pretty poor! I suppose it had to be tolerated for Corleone closure, but pretty weedy!

  • I haven't seen this movie in many years, are those little switches in the color palette from blue and back part of the actual film or some later modification of yours?

  • wtf

  • that boy got some moves!!!

  • This was Pacions best flick and boy was he sexy!

  • jajaajajajjaa!!! This is the dance of machoman!!! jajajjajaj...!!!!

  • this club looks stinky

  • hoo-wah!

  • Did Pacino wear a wig in this movie? Because that hair style and texture sure dont seem as his natural ?!

  • he has courage to do anything

  • I hear they are making a sequel now... Al hooks up with the big black dude from the cop shop and they compete in a dance-off.

  • AL PACINO es sexy de todas formas!!! sin AL esa peli no rulea

  • did you see me?

  • @DrAlexisOlson you idiot.

  • Al Pacino spazzes out. LOL

  • hahahahah ol9ololol I just remembered something on that new cartoon neighbors from hell hahahahahahaha lolololololololololol

  • this movie is beyond awful...thanks for uploading! :)

  • I only just recently saw the film and can hardly believe it was made. A real break from portraying gay men as weak and effeminate and to have a big star in it was well. Yes sure it can be seen as homophobic but I think for 1981 it is amazing it was made at all.

  • Probably the worst film in Pacino's back-catalogue. Controversial and uncomfortable to watch

  • I think it has plenty of things wrong with it, but a lot going for it. It has an atmosphere which many films can't match, but as narrative and character study, it feels half-backed and truncated.

The 40 minutes that have been cut could change it, and Pacino really felt that the character was ruined by the missing footage.

Pacino is also great in spite of the film, and its the last "classic" Pacino performance. Starting with Scarface, we'd get the over-the-top, gravely voiced Pacino.

  • i love this film i think it was stupid that they cut 40 minutes of it

  • Comment removed

  • @ColdBishop, last classic pacino performance? LOL you're telling me this crappy movie is better than Godfather III, Carlito's way, Sea of Love, Scent of a women, Heat, Any given sunday, Donnie Brasco, 88 minutes, or Devil's advocate?

  • @sfknns I'll give you "Carlito's Way" and "Donnie Brasco". But yes, this is better than the rest. And as far as his performances go, they're definitely the over-the-top raspy-voiced Pacino. Far cry from young Michael Corleone.

  • @ColdBishop , I don't agree with that LOL!

  • @ColdBishop

I'm utterly amazed that Pacino and Martin Scorese have never worked together. It's completely mind-boggling; I think Marty could have directed AP in "Donnie Brasco". I wonder: what if, instead of William Friedkin, Scorese directed "Cruising"? It probably wouldn't be the same aforementioned atmosphere. But, I say it probably would have resembled the same grimy NYC world that "Taxi Driver" had

  • @ColdBishop WHAT?Al Pacino himself said he thinks his 2 worst roles are in Revolution and Cruising. He said that when the film is good like Revolution then ur bad workd is a disaster but when the movie aint so good like Cruising it doesnt matter that much. Trust me ive seen all movies with him...and there are WAAY BETTER movies he made after 1980. I bet you havent seen much of his work.

  • @interneda98 I've seen practically everything he's done (at least until he started doing Sandler comedies and Jon Avnet snoozefests). The fact is, starting right after this, he turned largely into a ham. There's also a pretty noticeable physical difference roughly beginning at this point (I swear the guy aged three decades in the 80s).

And Scarface is Exhibit A in the case of Pacino the Overactor.

  • @ColdBishop U think Scarface is overacting?Wow man, thats one of his best, why do u even watch him if u think he's ham?Jon Avnet's 88 mins. is from 2007 and Jack and Jill with Sandler kind of just came out.He aged?- thats why he had cosmetic surgery in 1990 if u didnt knew. And u can't know what happend with his physic.IF U THINK HE'S HAM OVERACTOR WHY HAVE U WATCHED''PRACTICALLY EVERYTHING HE'S DONE''?AL IS ONE OF THE FEW REAL ACTORS LEFT AND IF U DONT LIKE HIM IT MEANS UR TASTELESS

  • @sfknns yeah, I bet this ColdBishop guy never watched Scent of a women,

  • @sugarcane32 And I bet you never watched "Profumo di donna"

  • @ColdBishop YEAH you got that right, I never watched "Profumo di dona".

but it has nothing to do with CLASSIC PACINO'S PERFORMANCE.

  • @sfknns exactly right!

  • @herbalenquiry , thanks LoL! even though pacino did a good job, this movie overall was terrible! the 80s was not a good run for pacino & de niro was having a better run during that time! pacino's only good movies in the 80s of course were Scarface & Sea of Love. Pacino redeemed himself in the 90s with Godfather III, Carlito's Way. Donnie Brosco, Scent of A Woman, Heat, Devil's Advocate, The Insider, City Hall. & Glengary Glen Ross, IMO!

  • @sfknns Don't forget Scarface, Lol

  • @possum19901990 , LOL yeah I mentioned Scarface!

  • @sfknns I meant on another one of your comments, you didnt mention Scarface. xD

  • @whoagigi a million times better thatn scent of a woman, melodramatic SHIT

  • cruising aint so bad. i think in the end the virtues outweigh the flaws. its technically brilliant, friedkins use of sound in crusing is really something else.

  • @whoagigi

Strongly dissagree... This may be his challengable work!

  • @whoagigi i wouldn't say it is his worst film but it is hardcore he was very brave to do a film like this in the name of art & cultural diversity....
