  • wow, it takes forever to wash, in South Africa, for a 7 kg load, normal cycle will be about 45 mins and quick wash like 32 mins, and it only washes with soap once. I'm thinking this either means korean washing machines wash more gently, or my clothes in Korea will come out really clean :D either ways, thank you so much for the post, I love you guys ;)

  • @Tuffiefly Africa is poor... people can‘t really afford washing machines..

  • @tomyferland1234 What are you talking about? Not everyone in South Africa is starving and living in dirty huts without a water supply system..your comment is generalizing. That's like saying North Americans are so rich, everyone owns a big house with a huge garden and has at least one house maid, just because SOME live like that. In every country there are people who can afford washing machines and people who can't.

  • Super boring if you don't live in Korea? Buddy I hope one day I can live in Korea

  • loljesus why did I watch the whole thing

  • sheesh that washing machine is so much better than 99% of the ones in america. :/

  • Its like an English washing machine but in Korean :DD

  • i think you ment at 2:04 1 hour 11 minutes,right?not 1 minute 11 seconds...il stand corrected if this is not the case.....

  • Some washing machines have dryers built in them and they will wash your clothes and then dry your clothes.

  • My freaking washing/ dryer keeps locking and will not let my clothing out if I stop it sooner than the 2 hour 30 minutes. FML.

  • So tht explains y my clothes smell so bad after i leave them in for some time lolol D:

  • then other options where spin speed is RPM they mean Rinse

    and hold and one means no spin

  • i think that the other water temp were you said it is personal i think it means Cold

  • I just sent this video to a friend who is in Korea right now and wants to do her laundry, I rewatched the video for the first time in years and just realised that Martina painted only one of her nails. Probably cuz it was the finger that was going to show everything but then when the other fingers appeared in the shots it felt wrong. Haha

  • my lg washing machine makes the same sounds. except that it looks totally different and totally easier

  • 냉수 means cold water.

  • LG and Samsung are from South-Korea

  • Thanks, this was really helpful. Now I can wash my hockey jersey without messing it up.

  • i want one of these! D:

  • Like this comment if you watched the video just to be able to watch the same video as Amber. LOL

  • I bought a Samsung washer hoping it was in Korean

    It wasnt

    BUT IT SINGS TO YOU!

  • thank you!: ) I was getting so tired of washing, washing, and washing my clothes again (the last two were attempts at drying my clothes; ) so now my super wet clothes will be dry thanks to you guys; )

  • Interesting, our washing mashine is LG, but looks a lot like this one and it even makes the exact same sound when you turn it on or change settings XD

  • 냉수 = Cold water. And 배수 = expel water from drum to out side.

  • Trying to imagine why Amber was watching this video regarding washing machines

    Thought process of Amber:

    "Hmmm I need to wash some clothes today but I don't understand the instructions on the washing machine!"

    *goes on Youtube and types "How to use a korean washing machine"

    "Oh!" *clicks on the first video and watches*

    "This is really helpful!! :)"

  • @panggg07 i do that for almost everything ._____.

  • Comment removed

  • do u guys live in s.-korea ? O.o

  • @Kazuhax Of course!

  • The first one with the longer time is probably HEAVY DUTY wash and the second with the shorter time is probably NORMAL wash.

  • 합섬 litterally means "synthetics"! Therefore, for all you synthetic clothes~

  • Thank you for this, now I won't be confused about the washer when I go to Korea XD

  • I TOTES HAVE THAT WASHING MACHINE

    In English 8D

  • This was the video amber from fx watched when she first came to Korea

  • 배수 means to drain the water

    냉수 means cold water

    Hope this helps :)

  • LOL. amber made me come here out of curiosity :D

  • Hehe, Amber brought me here. Even though I[ve watched this before.. :P

  • LOOOL Amber makes this video popular !

  • Yes I'm watching this cuz of Amber. XD XD

  • Hehe.... I see a lot of people watching this because Amber did XD

    Btw, I think you made a mistake at 2:03 saying that the cycle is only 1 min and 11 seconds?

  • LOL! I can just imagine Amber watching this and trying to figure out her washing machine. HAHA!

  • favorited cause amber watched this <3

  • lol Amber from f(x) used the video! lol

  • @issues2u: LOL WHAT? When?

  • @issues2u where did u know that? in an interview or something? I wanna see the video! :D

  • @issues2u Where can I watch it?

  • @issues2u in which video?

  • Comment removed

  • @issues2u @bigbangluver1996  i saw you talking about f(x)'s Amber o.o

    why did you mention her ? ...well, i'm her fan i just was looking for a solution for a korean washing machine and i found this viedo it's not helpful for me anyway LOL ..

  • Watching this actually gave me a better understanding of how to use my own washing machine. I had no idea why there were so many compartments for soap and what they were used for but now I know :D

  • no dryer? do you just air dry them?

  • Comment removed

  • @Iriea09 Koreans usually don't have dryers, washers weren't real common even 15 years ago. My grandmother still handwashes everything. Normally they'll just air dry them outside if it's nice, or indoors. They have some handy foldable racks for them.

  • @Sybaek thanks for telling me, I was curious about that.

  • people like me and 20,876 people like you who watch washing machine videos truly and quite sadly have no life

  • sorry.. request 'English translation Manual'

  • Tromm is LG model. call LG service center and request english menual.

  • thanks a ton for this, guys! i just got to bucheon & had to watch this video again to figure out how to use my machine. it's a smidge different than yours, but you really help! yay clean clothes!!

  • This is standard is every washing machine -

    1. Normal wash, 2. Synthetic fabric, 3. Gentle, 4. Wool, 5. Hand wash, 6. Quick 30min wash, 7. Rinse & spin 8. pumping waster out of machine

  • do you guys hang your clothes outside to dry? or what?

  • Here's the explenation: LEFT First program: Cottons Second: Synthetics Third: Delicates Fourth: Wool RIGHT: First: Handwash Second: Fast wash 30' Third: Rinse+Spin Fourth: Drain Temperatures: 95, 60, 40, 30, cold (the last one) Spin: 1200, 800, 400 (rpm), rinse hold (after last rinse water stays in the machine), no spin Options are: Time save, Extra rinse, Crease care, and Prewash (don't know the correct order) The button next to the display is time delay.
  • i dont know if you made a video on this but aren't the tall air conditioners in korea awesome!!! no hassle in sticking it in the window.

    p.s. Lotteria is awesome!!!

  • You guys are life savers! I was staring at all the Korean buttons on my washer (no pictures on mine...) for a week wondering what to do and worrying I'd ruin all my clothes!

    Thank you so much for posting this!

  • Wow, it took me 8 months to realize that I've been using the rinse and spin. I'm surprised my clothes haven't smelled... as bad...

  • You guys are the best! I just moved into a new place and was clueless about the washing machine.

    Now if I could just figure out the security system i'd be all set...

  • haha martina only had one finger painted for the vid

    hehehe sorry i'm such a n00b

  • Using logic the thing written under the 30º is cold water.. I have a machine that looks like this one, but is not in Korean, and the options is for cold water.. Also you can edit this cycles so you don't need to set the delicate cycle just to get a colder water temperature.

  • 합섬=> synthetic fabric(like nylon or polyester)

    란제리=lingerie =>underwear

    냉수=> cold water

    급속=> you're right, quickest

    배수=>drain

    시간절약 =>time saving

    탈수=>spin dry

  • hey on the wool cycle the temp means cold or no water temp becasue woolens are meant to be washed in cold water so its most likley to be cold wash, and that one that you said that you dont know what the cycle is that one is a synthetic cycle and it just gives a bit of a slower tumbling action with a higher water level. :)

  • It is not boring. It is really helpful! You explain very well!

  • The first temperature value may be "tap water temperature"

  • I think the one with the shirt is the "sport" program for workout clothes, and the last one is for soaking before selecting washing cycle

  • the second setting "합섬" is an abbreviated form of "합성섬유", which means "SYNTHETIC FABRIC."

  • For normal wash, the machine itself adds first cycle for 10 minutes. This is for mostly dirty shirts or if you want to have extra wash for 10 minutes before beginning entering normal wash, use normal wash. As for 합섬, this exclude first 10 minutes cycle from Normal wash. I hope this helps.

  • 합섬 (2nd option after the Standard): Poly

  • i`m afraid i can`t hear what you are saying. but i can under stand that korean.

    cuz, i`m korean :P

  • 냉수 = cold water

    급속 = fast wash

  • Awesome video and comments... my Tromm has been stressing me out! It's very similar to yours. The door is really hard to close properly which was compounding the problem. Last year I had an old school Korean washer which I didn't understand but was easier to use. But thanks to you I can learn to love my fancy new Tromm!

  • 급속 turbo

    배수 drain the water

  • Comment removed

  • fuck the haters!

    go simon and martina!!!! FTW

  • 2:03 LOL

  • People who enjoy wearing clean clothes, so obviously not you.

  • Yay Simon and Martina!

  • Thanks so much for this video, you saved out life!!!

  • * 합섬=synthetic fibers. This function is used when you wash only (or most) synthetic fibers like poly ester and nylon. They need less time than cotton.

    - laundry powder panel. you put the powder in both sides but you should only put it in left side (the bigger one). Right side is for very dirty clothings and can properly used with 예비세탁 button (= preliminary wash). at most times only left side box needs to be filled.

    Enjoy Korea! ^^

  • i am enjoying your videos and learned how foreigners feel about korean culture. very interesting. :)

    some tips for you about the functions.

    * 배수 = waste the water. This function is to get the whole water out of the washing machine. you can use this when you want to stop the machine and pull out the laundry while it is working. you can not open the door unless the water is out.

  • The 'composition' symbol looks a bit like our recycle symbol. You didn't mention the 'permanent press' cycle as we know it here, so maybe that's what it is. :)

  • 탈수means dry and I think that washing machine is also capable of drying...

  • spin cycle, not dry though.

  • 배수 means pump out all water inside the machine. You can find this word on korean dictionary "배수[排水]". this strange chinese letter (in your sight) is important to find real meanning.

    and 합섬 means 합성섬유. synthetic fiber

  • 급속= you are right. its Fast Wash

    배수= waste the water

    탈수= dehydration = it will spin until it gets dry I think.

    시간절약 = save time

  • Thank you so much! But, what does waste the water mean?

  • 배수排水- draw off, draining; drainage; pumping out

  • maybe I thinks... waste the water means...

    pumping out...^^

    after washing..dirty water...pumping out..

  • Drain maybe?

  • @simonandmartina it's to drain the water.

  • @simonandmartina mabye it means it will drain the water inside

  • 냉수 = Cold Water
