The real reason for the Red Sox 86 year curse was not The Bambino, but not singing Tessie at World Series games. The original Broadway version was first sung by The Royal Rooters in 1903 and helped the Sox to come back and win the Series. Since then no Boston team (Sox or Braves) has ever won a WS without singing the song and never lost when it was sung. The Dropkick Murphy's great version in 2004 brought the magic back so long missing.
