Thanks for this guitar info on a classic Lynyrd Skynyrd song. In case there are any keyboardists wanting to learn it, the sheet music for Billy Powell's "I Know a Little" piano solo can be found at manymidi.com/sheetmusic.htm.
Hammer no hammer. It all sounds good, and is recognizable as only Skynyd could be. Gaines was a genius who left us early. Would have been very cool to see SRV and Steve Gaines have a chance to collaborate.
The 1st riff here the guy plays incorrectly. It actually is a double-hammer. You pick the 10th fret on the D string (C) and then you hammer onto the 11th fret and then hammer onto the 14th fret. 2 quick hammers in succession is how it's done, not like this guy does it.
Howdy there, sonicjourney. Greg Koch is an amazing player. However I think on this one he is incorrect. I listened very closely and it sounds like the 2nd and 3rd notes are hammered. My teacher taught me this song about 7 years ago and he taught me the hammer way, which was out of a published skynyrd tab book. The hammer way just sounds more accurate to me.
that's fine work - you gotta good right hand, just need to relax a bit now
I don't wanna seem ungrateful, but I agree with bangonzedrums, the bit u slowed down is the easiest part of the whole thing... thanks anyway, helped me a lot...
Dude... why would you only slow down one part? And the easiest part, no less. I nailed that part with no problem... it'd be extremely helpful if you slowed down the parts that are actually difficult and need to be slowed down.
THAT WAS AWESOME!! you are very good and clearly a talented and gifted musician. you got every note. i have a hard time picking as fast as that. you will go far. keep on rockin!
Great guitar player, bro! I posted a video response. It's my band playing in 1996, in Brasília. Sory, the vocal cant speak english... but we try! I play bass. Keep on rocking!!!

Tabs also help, there should be a TAB link to aid the exact transcription. Standard tuning, etc.
