@Mangadrift I do plan on buying an audi, always liked the looks and reliability of the cars. But, I do know more than a few "older" guys that own STI's. And I hate to say it, but its really low of you to act better than anyone that drives a SRT or STI because you may have an audi. I'm just saying. I drive a WRX, it has very nice leather seats, power everything, a reliable car, looks and drives great. What's wrong with that? Why is an audi more "adult" like? Because it cost 2x-3x more?
Im a fan of both. Know quite a bit about both. Hence the reason I bought my WRX. Stock SRT and stock wrx, straight line is the neon in the long run, different gearing and only fwd. But will never be able to put down as much power as a WRX with mods. Now snow, rain, ice, or dirt, the WRX will crush a SRT. Its all about what you want to do with the car. AWD cars tend to lose more hp at the wheels but grip like mad and the power is to all wheels. FYI,subaru is more reliable. Plain and simple.Sorry.

I always used to say i wouldn't own a Dodge.... let lone a Neon... I bought an SRT-4 last year... and I LOVE IT. And no... it does not have to be modded to beat an STI. The numbers may be better but don't forget you lose about 40 horse to the wheels in an all wheel drive car.

dude take it from someone who works on cars for a living and owns an STI. neons are cheap. the basic dodge neon is the platform. just like the imprezza is for the STI. SRT4s still have junk wheel bearings, junk control arm bushings and shitty engine seals. they arent half the car everyone builds them up to be. its a high HP motor in a throw away car
I run a srt-4 motor turbo, the works. I have raced sti at the track and and never lost to one yet, I even dynoed my car to match a sti that wanted a race with around the same HP ( 360 around)and I got him (not by much), then he came back to track 5 months later and we raced agian but this time he was matching my 422 hp) and this time is was so damn close I couldn't believe it. but in all fairness I have alot more money dropped into my car then he does to keep up with me.
i totally understand that, however the gains are still very minimal. Your turbo may spool up like 200 rpm's quicker if your lucky. Which still isn't going to put you into the evo/sti class whatsoever. Like i said previously BPU vs. BPU srt-4 vs. evo/sti, you will get walked quite hard i have seen it many times at the track and until i see otherwise your bs will not sway change my view on your bs claims
you make an interesting statement, you put an exhaust on your srt...?odd i was under the impression stock they had no exhaustso why add the restriction of an exhaust. Short ram intake nets you maybe 1-2 hp. Read my above comment and re-think what your saying Don't be mad because i am pointing out facts. i think you are confusing the facts. the srt has no muffler...that does not mean it does not have an exhaust system. it has a resonator after the cat. but the srt is more than enough to take on evos and stis stock for stock. the srt was underrated, EVERYONE knows that. it actually has closer to 265 horses at the crank with about 238 at the wheels with the sti 295/236. of course running from a stop puts the srt is a huge disadvantage, but it can and will happen.
srt 4 compares easily with evos and stis. there really isnt that big of a difference between a car with 300hp and a car with 265-270 hp(it missed tested at the dyno to 230 hp). people talk bad about it because they wasted their money on expensive stis and evos..i mean for almost the same power, would you really want to spend 37,000 dollars or below 20,000..im not sayin dont buy an evo or sti. if you got that kind of money go ahead and get the sti/evo.
point is that car is NOT an STI...it is a wrx, STI will walk all over a neon from a dig or a roll...and btw rolls are for fat chicks not for racing....

i have a buddy with an srt-4 dynoing around 450 (agp stage 4 and other things) he can destroy an sti. Im not saying the car in this video has over 400 horsepower but it is possible. It is just not specified.

@Mangadrift I do plan on buying an audi, always liked the looks and reliability of the cars. But, I do know more than a few "older" guys that own STI's. And I hate to say it, but its really low of you to act better than anyone that drives a SRT or STI because you may have an audi. I'm just saying. I drive a WRX, it has very nice leather seats, power everything, a reliable car, looks and drives great. What's wrong with that? Why is an audi more "adult" like? Because it cost 2x-3x more?

Im a fan of both. Know quite a bit about both. Hence the reason I bought my WRX. Stock SRT and stock wrx, straight line is the neon in the long run, different gearing and only fwd. But will never be able to put down as much power as a WRX with mods. Now snow, rain, ice, or dirt, the WRX will crush a SRT. Its all about what you want to do with the car. AWD cars tend to lose more hp at the wheels but grip like mad and the power is to all wheels. FYI,subaru is more reliable. Plain and simple.Sorry.

I always used to say i wouldn't own a Dodge.... let lone a Neon... I bought an SRT-4 last year... and I LOVE IT. And no... it does not have to be modded to beat an STI. The numbers may be better but don't forget you lose about 40 horse to the wheels in an all wheel drive car.

I run a srt-4 motor turbo, the works. I have raced sti at the track and and never lost to one yet, I even dynoed my car to match a sti that wanted a race with around the same HP ( 360 around)and I got him (not by much), then he came back to track 5 months later and we raced agian but this time he was matching my 422 hp) and this time is was so damn close I couldn't believe it. but in all fairness I have alot more money dropped into my car then he does to keep up with me.

i totally understand that, however the gains are still very minimal. Your turbo may spool up like 200 rpm's quicker if your lucky. Which still isn't going to put you into the evo/sti class whatsoever. Like i said previously BPU vs. BPU srt-4 vs. evo/sti, you will get walked quite hard i have seen it many times at the track and until i see otherwise your bs will not sway change my view on your bs claims

i think you are confusing the facts. the srt has no muffler...that does not mean it does not have an exhaust system. it has a resonator after the cat. but the srt is more than enough to take on evos and stis stock for stock. the srt was underrated, EVERYONE knows that. it actually has closer to 265 horses at the crank with about 238 at the wheels with the sti 295/236. of course running from a stop puts the srt is a huge disadvantage, but it can and will happen.

srt 4 compares easily with evos and stis. there really isnt that big of a difference between a car with 300hp and a car with 265-270 hp(it missed tested at the dyno to 230 hp). people talk bad about it because they wasted their money on expensive stis and evos..i mean for almost the same power, would you really want to spend 37,000 dollars or below 20,000..im not sayin dont buy an evo or sti. if you got that kind of money go ahead and get the sti/evo.
