my question is the software compatibility better then vista, because when i got my new computer i had to downgrade to xp because more then half my programs didn't work
It isnt up to microsoft to make windows compatible with the software, its up to the software to be compatible with windows. Most applications still work, the only ones that dont work are the poorly coded ones.
They should do because they didn't change much to do with the core, the way programs interact with the OS. I found everything worked for me, even most drivers (not all drivers though) worked. Some didn't install, but when ran into compatibility mode for vista, they were fine.
