Wow! That is an awesome setup. I want to create one just like it......what type of computer do you use that can handle the flight simulation graphics?
@MrTadge I think that the yoke and throttle quadrant need one and one more for the rudder pedals, although I'm not entirely sure because I just ordered the yoke yesterday.
@SandAbrothers The quadrant that comes with the yoke plugs into a special socket on the yoke - not USB. The yoke has another 3 USB ports, but needs external power if it gets overloaded, just like any other USB hub.
@jordansmallperson dude, i say go for it. i mean, it doesnt have to be as complex as this set up, i just have a joystick and two monitors. but me myself, i've been at flight sim since 1999, back when i was in kinder garden.
@jordansmallperson im 18 now, and am about 25 hours into the pursuit of my private pilots license, and let me tell you, me going into it with that basic background knowledge i learned from Flight Simulator is priceless. realism is always the factor thats debated between simulation and real world..
@jordansmallperson in real world, the "feel" of the aircraft is not the most transferable from flight sim, but the flows learned and systems with in the plane studied are what really help you out the most in the long run.. keep at your dream kid, it'll be reality for you sooner than you might think, and i guarantee its worth it
@jordansmallperson um this is good for a feel of a pilot and ILS but not for real world like i can recover a stall on final on realism settings set to hard
Nice setup but I do have to agree with SimSamurai. You could have purchased an LCD, a gauge software and build a switch panel with less money. Maybe use the saved up to build a enclosed cockpit. You get some basic DIY skills too :)
Man, Awesome job, very well done and neat!!! Are you a real pilot, I have a CPL MEIR and want to start building my own home cockpit, how did you do the dash design, your own style?
Well done again. (With such a nice cockpit you now just need 3 screens to compliment it :-)
Make that devices sense because in a boing you have vnav and rnav for typical routes? I think on that panel device you can fly only with "normal" nav or not?
now imagine all that stuff in the panel of a real cessna 172sp body with the back half cut off. man i would love to take the wrecked cessna out near this airfield i know and turn it into a full motion simulator using the redbird atd i saw in a king schools catalog would be awesome i mean that plus saitek instruments and control's in a real plane would be the best training simulator ever.
I I had the same problem I deleted FSX and all saitek software, got new software from saiteks website and installed it all back on. This worked for me. Install FSX first before you put back on the saitek software.
Hey so I have the saitek flight instrument panel and I have used it for a while but when I got a new comoputer(alienware aurora) It will crash flight sim x on startup, but if i unplug fip fsx starts up fine!!! any help would be wonderful :D
Thanks Ganzedijker for the post but its only a hobby you know. I think most people know it not like flying a airline, but thanks for stating the obvious cheers
@80derek You're welcome. There is nothing wrong with a great job and hobby, you actually did it, and my flying overstatement if a 20 million dollar simpit is simply beyond common people's reach.
Where did you get,.. or how did you make this panel.. i planning on making a home built cockpit and this panel looks interesting.. but mine.. ill be adding radars and stuff... please reply.. Thank you...
Wow....you really spent alot of money on all those Saitek gauges. ~$900 just for the 6 pack. For 1/3 of that you could've just bought a high end LCD and used that for displaying a wide variety of different aircraft panels at full size. Instead, you pidgeonholed yourself into a single type analog panel and you don't have a GPS. Why? Secondly, the Saitek radios are much much larger than anything you'll find in a real aircraft. You should check out my channel and website, it will open your eyes!
@SimSamurai wow SimSamurai, let the man enjoy his stuff. I like you channel and I am building what you got, but if the man wants that let him have it. . . lol
@Coomesification I just hate seeing people spend a ton of money only to find out that they are really limiting themselves in the long run. Unfortunately alot of non real world pilots jump into this hobby with no real experience or knowledge of avionics. For less than half of that expense you could get a 27" LED / LCD, some payware gauges, and have a real aluminum panel made. Don't get me wrong, I like the Saitek LCD but I would only use one as a "backup". I've also heard they have control lag.
@SimSamurai why talk down to someone to boost your own ego? he bought it, he's happy with it, he's not a skinflint. why do you care? why do you have to try to bring people down to boost your own ego? i hate guys like that. you sound insecure.
@gp4nut What do YOU care what I care??? I regularly help a S--T load of people buy and build flight simulators and I build them for people. I simply hate seeing people spend alot of money when it could be much better spent ESPECIALLY if it gave them a more realistic experience. If I was throwing up videos (and allowing comments) I would welcome people's various opinions. For the price of the Saitek 6 pack you could get a nice LCD and the GNS530 from Emuteq and have a GPS. Im not "talking down".
@SimSamurai i care when i see people bullied over a purchase they are happy with. besides, your kit is for DIY enthusiasts. people will pay a premium for something ready to go instead of having to build it themselves, hence the success of this series. if you're not talking down or giving a negative opinion then it seems you are advertising. As @Coomesification says, let the man enjoy his stuff.
@gp4nut Excuse me but is everyone on YouTube expected to just clap willdy and say "great job" and can their real opinions? NO. We are all entitled to one and if everyone just lied all the time then no one would ever receive honest objective criticisms.. something I get daily from flight instructors. Secondly, anyone building a panel to insert sim equip into is a DIY enthusiast. I never said "hey don't enjoy what you have" ..I just said that IN MY OPINION the money could've been better spent.
wow this is the neatest and most sleek set up i have seen yet

I considered this and wondered if so, do you simply use a USB hub for more ports?
Thanks
