This is my favourite bass solo from mark king. At 2.31 he's starting with a thumb explosion, breathtaking. A few seconds before someone is throwing something to his hands, it looks like a cigarette. Fortunately with no consequences, mark king is already on fire.

Flea is overrated, and musicians can judge and they don't overrate him. It is okay for his type of music, but all the same licks and style of playing, not appealing to me at all. No Flea could never even stand in the shadow of the "real boys" like Mark King, Stanley, Jaco, Marcus...
neither could mark king, stanley, jaco or marcus do what he does. It's different styles of playing. the same for steve harris or bootsy or cliff burton. All are great and iconic. all these guys became know for doing theyre thing, not for doing what others do.
I think if him and flea both got on stage together they could jam it up. I think your comment is unfair he didn't do one thing I couldn't see flea pulling off or vice versa. Not only that if you've seen rhcp live flea physically gets into it. Only thing I saw unique to him in this was his Rodger Waters sounding solo at the begining

Flea is overrated, and musicians can judge and they don't overrate him. It is okay for his type of music, but all the same licks and style of playing, not appealing to me at all. No Flea could never even stand in the shadow of the "real boys" like Mark King, Stanley, Jaco, Marcus...

neither could mark king, stanley, jaco or marcus do what he does. It's different styles of playing. the same for steve harris or bootsy or cliff burton. All are great and iconic. all these guys became know for doing theyre thing, not for doing what others do.

I think if him and flea both got on stage together they could jam it up. I think your comment is unfair he didn't do one thing I couldn't see flea pulling off or vice versa. Not only that if you've seen rhcp live flea physically gets into it. Only thing I saw unique to him in this was his Rodger Waters sounding solo at the begining

Flea is the most overrated bass player I have ever seen. Those who like him so much are people who havn't heard the kings or simple don't understand what the "Kings" do.
