So I'm not worried that guys like this get power, they don't tend to last long or have a lasting impact if they're ever exposed. And it really isn't limited to bankers either.
But, for my money, it's the people who sincerely believe:
"We know what's good for you, and you'll do it whether you like it or not."
... that i'm more worried about causing some lasting damage.

While I do believe that there really are people like this out there and are capable of what he's talking about (George Soros comes to mind). However they do have power over us that is granted to them by our own government through restrictions on US.
And indeed they would have less power if the local communities were the people they had to persuade to give them that power.

The great thing about a truly open market in a capitalist system is that it gives you the FREEDOM to be a sucker, and re-born every minute! What, after all is the alternative - having a government make your decisions for you? No thanks, Herr Kommisar. Some have advantages by abilities, or birth into wealth, but so what? Work hard, educated yourself, consume intelligently, save, invest, become an entrepreneur, even (gasp!) a banker! You have freedom to PURSUE happiness - no guarantee of it!

@modernfreestyle No their is absolutely truth to this... The majority of what he said is correct.. roughly 12 elite families own the entire world... We are merely pawns.. Sure some do receive wealth at the sweat of their brow (Jobs, Gates, Walton), but then the criminal income tax that takes every dime and gives to the Federal Reserve (ie 12 families) every last penny of it.. The Fed doesn't care who gives it to them as long as they get it... So wake up

@modernfreestyle Let me try to explain it in simpler terms.. The Federal Reserve is a private bank.. It prints the money that we use.. It supplies cash into the economy, and then takes it out at will. It can create recessions as we as inflation at will.. We use the money at a price that is compounded interest.. In other words it's a ponzi scheme.. We cannot ever be out of debt.. Not ONE SINGLE DIME OF INCOME TAX goes to appropriated spending.. Every last cent goes to the Federal Reserve Part 1

First off, if you took all the money that corporations and the wealthy earned you wouldn't even pay off 2% of the national debt..
