@BlackwaterOpsDotCom Ouch! Just because I stated the obvious, the same exact information everybody but Microsoft knows, I take on the dunce cap. Okay, fine. I am an idiot and it actually is reasonable that it takes 5,000 people to create a bloatware OS that sells to a legacy user base. Dumb me.
The only that bugs me is Windows packages like Windows 7 starter, Home, Professional, etc... They should make it into one package that contains all. Sure I could buy the ultimate to get the full OS, but it should "buy a Windows OS period", thats it no starter, home etc . So when people have problems and they post in forums, they just specify the OS. Instead of us guessing what features is in which package and are they the cause of the problem. Hopping for Windows 8 to have one package only.
@JohnnyOthman There really are only three versions of Windows 7. 1) Starter. 2) Enterprise 3) Home Basic/Premium, Professional, Ultimate are the same install disk just a simple config file differentiates them.
@ChiefLeftenant Yeah ur right, but wouldn't it be easier to have just one Windows 8 package, not saying the current Windows 7 package is bad, but it would be neat to have it in a one package. So no starter, home, etc so when buy Windows 8, I buy All in One featured Windows 8, you know what I mean... Its all good.
@JohnnyOthman Windows 8 will more than likely be only one package. Cause it won't be for business/enterprise. Companies that just switched to Win 7 will stay there till Win 9. It's proven for three full cycles now. NT, 2k, XP and 7 all geared for business. Win 8 really has no business applications except for app development. Which they are being smart about with the early release for developers. Win 8 will be very successful in the tablet market. But will fail as a desktop OS.
I'm NOT promoting illegal activity, however Mac can run on almost ANY computer in vmWare , or as a Hackintosh . However this brake the EULA even though I PAID for OSX Lion, and Mac OSX Snow Leopard. "EULA forbids installations of Mac OS X on a "non-Apple-branded computer", but it shouldn't be treated any different than jailbreaking in my eyes. I should be able to test Software I write on the Mac OS with out owning a Mac.

@BlackwaterOpsDotCom Did you ever happen to find a laptop with a trackpad that you do like? *tries to imagine using a CAD application using a trackpad..* *shudder* I think it's safe to say, after this point, that this segway has reached it's conclusion. (I know... off topic much?)
@42DangerVision I have an ASUS that I like just fine. It is not what I would do 5 hours of CAD in but I can manipulate charts and layouts in it. And I can play games, and do the things I need.
@BlackwaterOpsDotCom This sounds oddly similar to the old (yes, I am this old) arguments in resistance to the mouse because using the keyboard exclusively was 'faster'(with the appropriate skill level). ~just commentary
@BlackwaterOpsDotCom but it's multi-touch, so example the left side if primary click and the right side is secondary click (, but you can configure if you want just to touch it or pressing down as a physical button).. and because of multi-touch it's more useful for many other things too, example pinch to soon, finger swipes etc.
@BlackwaterOpsDotCom Were you referring with the problem of not being able to simultaneously right and left click on the macbook air? I'm having trouble imagining how tapping the trackpad with two fingers(a multitouch trackpad right-click) could possibly be problematic otherwise... I'm genuinely puzzled (unless you were referring to the afore-mentioned simultaneous right-left click problem)
@42DangerVision There is no Right click button where the left click button is. There are a LOT of reasons I want and need a physical button for right clicking.
@BlackwaterOpsDotCom Can you elaborate on "LOTS of reasons" ? Is there some piece of software, for example, that you specifically use that requires a right-click and drag? (editing software for example?) I invite you to add some context.
@42DangerVision Right Click and scroll moves in the Z Access in 3d Modeling software.
Right click and drag is how you move in World of Warcraft, and other games.
Right plus left click is Open new tab in a lot of IDE's
People who aren't power users may never need it, but these things are so second nature to me I can't hardly even list them. But I had a Mac for 5 days running windows and almost smashed it to 1000 pieces because these things would hit and I would have to go get a real mouse.
@BlackwaterOpsDotCom I took a look at a shot of the original macbook air, now I see what you meant about the separate physical "button." ~The regular sized squid of rational debate and source citation rears it's be-monocled head~
Right Clicking now using an external mouse, You can also physically press the right end of the mouse. Mac's do support other mice including Microsoft!
@BlackwaterOpsDotCom With a macbook pro you can enable the trackpad to right click from the right end of the trackpad. I use both and needed a way to do that so I looked it up. Windows is my Primary OS though for support. I just know that on my macbook pro I am able to set this... You can do this on he air as well. I see your points that Apple is charging more for hardware though which is true versus software.
@cloutierhaker You know if you wanted to do anything more than troll about how the mac is so great... the point is mac wouldn't have spend $1 extra to make the track button support a right click. They chose not to, because they didn't want Windows Users to do exactly what I said. Because at the time the Air was cheaper than anything in its class.
@BlackwaterOpsDotCom true... not trying to troll but trying to make a point... Windows is my primary OS and always will be... just trying to inform you that you can right click on the trackpad.. and yes it was cheap of them to not put a physical button
I don't understand what bugs you about the right click. The right click on a Mac running Windows is exactly the same as a right click on other Windows machines. If you use a trackpad, it's the lower right corner click or a 2 finger tap. If you use 3rd party mice, the right click button works well.
@g0rsk13g4n9st4 It doesn't work the same way. You just describe how it isn't the same way. The same way would be I use the click on the right side of the track pad. That's not what you do, so it is different.
@BlackwaterOpsDotCom How is it not the same? On a Mac running Windows you click the right lower half of the trackpad to "right click", as if there was a separate physical right button on the trackpad.
@BlackwaterOpsDotCom Wow, seriously? Alright, if you want to get technical; Yes, you do push a button because the whole trackpad is a giant button. Now, let's refrain from nitpicking on the size and shape of the button because that varies even among Windows machines.
Thankfully my school provided a free copy of windows 7 64bit professional. Its easier to buy computers this windows installed. Or if you prefer custom builds get a OEM edition from newegg or tigerdirect.

Maybe MSFT should just rip off the OpenSource community Wholesale Like Apple Does with GPL2 Code?
Or maybe they should be Linux and not pay out the patents they would infringe on.
Or maybe they should demand hardware manufacturers pay them a tax
