I just found your channel & I love it! I think a lot of people think you need to buy everything that comes out & then you loose your own creativity! Keep doing what you do because sometimes the "old school" just works. I started scrapping in high school cutting out pictures of New Edition (my favorite group) & a spiral notebook. Some of my best work has been embellies I have made myself!
This is the first video of yours I've seen. I checked out your other videos to see what your off-site naysayers were talking about, and I've concluded that they're jealous. All those expensive "new-school" scrapbooks look neat, yeah, but they also all look the same after a while. Your scrapbooks all look neat AND unique, and it's heartening to see that that can be achieved without paying a fortune. Strike my jealousy comment; your naysayers are probably employees of Provo Craft.
@sinewavefunction WOW! I am so flattered! Thank you. I love kids and hope to have my own someday. I guess your 3 1/2 year old is my youngest fan! Thanks!
I have a cricut and a big shot and a slice, that are fun to work with BUT I love your way of scrap booking and I learn a lot from you and use your ideas too!! Not every one likes every way things are done and shouldn't talk bad about other peoples ways.
Just do you and let the other things fall by the waistside. Creating to me is doing what you like and stepping outside of the box of the norm. I enjoy your videos and getting ideas from you so, keep up the good work
I personally really don't like the super fancy layouts people make with tons of expensive embellishments, ribbons, etc with one tiny photo. For me, the PHOTOS are the main focus of my scrapbooking so of course I want them to stand out and have the embellishments as accents. I love your style and your videos. Keep up the good work :)
@bambams87 I agree that the photos are the most important! Thanks for helping us keep that in mind, bambams87! I appreciate you commenting! Thank you!
I enjoy your videos. Please don't let others tell you not to do what you do. I have been scraping for about 2 years and really smile just watching you talk about what you love to do. I have some of the new gadgets but it is nice to see basics and tips you bring to us. Thank You
@janiedale53 I really appreciate your comment, janiedale53! I'm glad that even someone who might have some of the fun, new gadgets can still enjoy some of the basics. I don't want to make this a confrontation between "new" verses "old" scrapbooking. I don't think either style should be trashed and I'm glad you see it that way too. Thank you very much for sending me your comment.
Ppl talk. That jus what they do. U jus keeping doing you! Its all u can do! Lol in all seriousness, keep doing what you love....its great u made a video response....I can't beleive they trashed you! I like what u stand for...n scrapbooking is supposed to be about preserving memories....not expensive do-dats! Fools! Anyway all this to say, hope u keep posting vids!
@mariadecosta I like your confidence, Maria! I bet if you posted videos, you wouldn't take crap from anyone! Hehe. :D Thanks so much for your words of confidence and I *will* keep posting! Thank you!
@Pages4theAges lol that's right...i wouldnt/couldnt take crap from anyone...but your doing great and you did one up on these foolish ppl. By coming back with a vid response---i hope i have the patience and class to deal with haters as you have---when/if i ever make my own vids! we wont always agree, but people need to get that we can ALWAYS benefit or learn from everyone :) such, is the beauty of humanness and creativity, and such, is what great scrapbookers leave behind. Ciao for now!
I, for one, love your "style" and your videos. If people have to make fun of you because you don't spend $400 on the newest, greatest die cut machine, then they are the ones with the problem. Probably a problem with finances, for one. That's the "nicest" way I can state that. Keep up the AWESOME work. You were completely right on when you said capturing the memories was the most important part. Isn't that what a scrapbook is? When i was a kid, scrapbooks were nothing more than newspaper clips.
@PatsTreasuresNCrafts Patricia, I bet those newspaper clip - scrapbooks would be pretty interesting to look at! Scrapbooking sure has changed a lot in the past few decades. I'm glad there are others like me who want to keep this hobby affordable! Thank you very much for the words for encouragement. You are my "craft fair expert" so if you say the scrapbooking style is nothing to trash, then I believe you! Thanks for your comments on the past few videos!
