there seems to be a lot of dispute, even name calling about this so let me clear it up. the first appearance of "take 5" was on desmond and dave's "bluebird suite" album. this album was made with a bunch of screwy time sigs. later dave would say "the reason wrote this album? well, i would be pretty embarrassed if aliens came to earth and heard all this music in 4/4 time. i don't think i'd be able to show my face in space again!".
