  • what county is this?

  • @shechshire Hillsborough

  • I love how people hate any body with even a once of authority. Of corse, they just want to do whatever the hell they want to do because in their little world it's me, myself, and I. those are the ones you always hear complaining about cops and security.

  • It's broadcast on TruTV (formerly CourtTV). I don't think it's broadcast on any other channel in the states...

  • I live there. Where they pulled over I am just 2 buildings over.

This video is a bit older though. Speed limit is now 40. But people go 60 all the time. FHP pulls people over all day and night right there. LoL.

When it comes to getting pulled over: You don't want to get pulled over by FHP. They write a *lot* of tickets.

FHP deserves a lot of respect. One of the hardest cop-jobs and also one of the least paying cop-jobs.

  • i love this show, especially the hot cops they put on here

  • Everybody acts like 69 in a 50 is no big deal. Anything faster than 15 over is felony speeding. You can go to jail for that. Don't speed and you will hardly ever deal with that "asshole" cop unless he wants to tag you for 5 over or something which most of them don't. I've driven 5 over right past a cop once. Nothing.

  • No you can't. **If** you kill someone while you're exceeding the speed limit then you go to jail for vehicular homicide. Driving over the limit is only a civil felony.

  • Well, I'm sure the laws are different in some states. In Florida, you can go to jail for "reckless driving," which is a "willful and reckless disregard for the safety of others." Normally speeding is not reckless, but at a certain point (depending on the road and driving conditions), it could be. But yeah, you usually can't get a reckless driving violation for just 15 over.

  • these cops get busy trying to take money out of people with decent jobs. why they dont go where the drug dealers or gang members are, take the dirty money from them not from us.

  • Sounds like someone's gotten a few tickets in their lifetime :P

Answer: Because people die everyday in accidents caused by drivers breaking the traffic laws. The highway patrol (which is the agency featured here) is a police dept. with one specific goal: highway safety. Enforcement of the traffic laws is necessary to prevent the who-knows-how-many deaths we'd have without a police presence on the roads. If you don't want a ticket, the answer is simple: don't break the law in the first place.

  • they do it because those types are not easily found doing blatant crimes... besides that... the highway patrol is just that.. they do not go to domestic fights or drunken people

  • oh there are bad drivers ever been to indiana

  • in this case the officer was wrong! "Buddy" was correct- there is not a registration required to be carried on a vehicle using dealer tags- the registration is for multiple vehicle use and is attached to the back of the actual tag! stupid cop not stupid speeder in this case!!!!

  • I think the problem was that the vehicle didn't have a correct VIN #. The trooper seemed to know about the dealer tags...

  • He just needed the VIN number so he could prove EXACTLY which car he pulled over in the event buddy took the infraction to court. It had nothing to do with registration or insurance

  • 69 in a 50. lol yaaaaawn

  • i like watching speeders it funny how poeple get pull over

  • the limit is 65 on that road its not underposted plus he was flying... deserved the ticket

  • Actually, he was doing 69 in a *50* :)

  • That maybe the fastest road, but its not the most dangerous.

US Highway 19 is more dangerous in the Tampa Bay Area.

  • its gotten alot safer

  • holy cow I have been on that road so many times when I used to live in Clearwater which is right on the other side of the bay! Dont know how many times Ive flown down that road. Its been a few years but I remember once where all on the local radio they said dont speed across any of the bay bridges cause they were flying helicopters and had tons of cops on each end of the bridge no matter which one!! They prob had 15 cops on each of of a bridge!! I didnt speed that whole week! But before TONS!!TY

  • And if 75 mph is the average traffic speed, 55 mph isn't the 'fastest' possible speed. If people keep right and pass left, and keep a safe following distance, I don't see what's wrong with having no speed limits. it's easy to enforce and profitable, but it punishes responsible drivers who are just 1: Passing 2: not particularly concerned with the very number theyre going (more responsible to concentrate on the road)

  • NO SPEED LIMITS?!?!? What about at night, in residential areas, or near SCHOOLS!?!?!

  • agreed - look at the German Autobahn, its been a success

  • 1. Don't pass around curves or over hills

    2. If you're not concerned about details, then you shouldn't be driving--unless you live in some rural area

  • Reaction time reaction time reaction time, blah blah blah, all this suggests is that 'the safest speed limit is 0'. If people don't tailgate and drive like morons, and keep right pass left, it won't matter what speed they travel at because people who drive reasonably typically do not exceed their capabilities. Not that tailgating isn't a big problem around here....

  • Souns like someone has gotten a few speeding tickets in their lifetime ;) What's so hard about keeping within the speed limits? The fact is, everyone has their "own" level of driving ability. If you take away the speed limit, then police officers will not be able to tell who is driving beyond their capabilities, and who isn't. Setting the limit at the fastest possible speed for "all" drivers eliminates this problem. I do agree with you on tailgating, though... It's a major problem.

  • No, not really, I just think speed limits are a way to milk the public out of money and are pointless. What's so difficult? What's so difficult is that when traffic is going 20+ over the limit, going the limit is dangerous. Uh yeah you can tell if someone is driving beyond their capabilities, I don't see what this has to do with the limit. There are ways to tell, like a person staying in their lane, being in control of the car, following other traffic laws (no tailgating, cutting people off),etc

  • Uh, I think you should check the video again. This guy was obviously going way faster than everyone else - and since when does all the traffic regularly go 20+? Usually it's only 5 or 10 over, but most people don't go beyond 10.

  • They go 20+ here, especially when the limit is way underposted, like 45 on a highway bridge, which actually causes traffic to be doing 30+. It didn't really show him going faster than everyone else either, just in front, plus he probably didn't see the cop. The trooper is also an idiot if he thinks speeding fines slow people down, for the majority of people, they don't work.

  • 76 in a 55 is normal, stop giving people speeding tickets, it has nothing to do with safety.

  • It has everything to do with safety. If every other motorist is doing the speed limit, and there's this one guy doing 21 over, it causes a real safety issue, for many reasons. To name a few, (a) people trying to change lanes might not see him coming up behind them so fast, and (b) the speeder wouldn't have as much time to react if something happened in front of him. Speed limits aren't just some random number pulled out of nowhere; they're carefully calculated to be the safest possible speed.

  • I hate to say it, but the Trooper has no idea what he's talking about.

The car is not registered, till its sold.

  • I believe that is why he would need the VIN.
