i think brazil had @ the time many ppl rocking already but the dictatorship that ended in 85 and rock in rio were a big push for brazilian kids because before 85 if you rock the army is gonna TAKE CARE OF YOU QUICKLY .

I love AC/DC, I love Brazil (bought Stiff Upper Lip in Belo Horizonte in february 2001), seing AC/DC live in Rio must be something (though they couldn't play Thunderstruck in 1985). Long live AC/DC !!!!

Thats funny, though. The main issue inbetween AC/DC and Iron Maiden in Rock in Rio is that AC/DC said they wouldnt play if the bell could not be hanged on the event structure. The event people had to reenforce the steel structure in order to hang the bell... Iron Maiden statement was that Rock in Rio should not do it... they were jealous by AC/DC gear and effects.

I heard Angus burned with a cigarette a Bruce Dickinson's spandex on the backstage that was over a chair or something. Then Bruce tried to pick up a fight with Angus... and all of a sudden, Brian came and smacked Bruce Dickingson's head. This story came from a Hells Angel that was on the security staff. Go Brian!!!

Well, I think this story is not true coz´ AC/DC arrived in Rio only three days before first gig on 15th january. Maiden played only ONE gig at the very first day of the festival, 11th. On the day after, they had to land onward Europe, to fulfill dates. Bruce and Brian didn´t meet each other. That´s the version I know...
