this tragedy has nothing to do with 9/11, the so called engineer who happened to be a weirdo texting bunch of teenagers killed 25 innocent people....it could have happened on any given day...
I live ten minutes (without traffic) from where this happened.
I have never liked the idea of riding Metrolink, I did it once from the airport and I hated it.
This is very sad, apparently a LA County Sheriff Deputy collapsed during the rescue effort and is now in ICU, the sight of all that must have been too much for him... it's THAT bad.
This wreck is pretty bad... at least 15 confirmed dead, 10 VERY critical, just heard they're bringing in cadaver dogs since it's getting dark. The engine car telescoped into the first passenger car, and pretty much smooshed a lot of people who were trapped. Then there was a fire! Many uninjured riders are being held in the other 2 cars until all the injured are taken out. Ugh. At least it's only in the mid-80's today... Another 50 feet & it would have been inside a tunnel, and MUCH MUCH worse!

I heard that the trains were being switched in a way for some time now that was unsafe.
We use the train and are at the station often. It might be a good idea to just look into this and see if the trains are running fast.
