Well i just seen what all you have to hook up to get this working.. a 3g modem connector.. microphone dongle, a gps dongle all over the car..once you get all those situated all over your cars dashboard your google maps are not live! You have to manually hit the next button for the next directions..no turn by turn voice or nothing.. and the apps well, your better off buying a car dock for your phone mount to windshield problem solved.. calls, problem solved just buy a bluetooth radio.
I bought one and had it fitted by the shop that sold it. only found 2 FM stations, usb would not connect so no maps, no traffic, remote control be really useful as no steering wheel control loom available for my car. spent £270 for what? total rubbish
@KleenezeDon I work in installations, the signal issues will have nothing to do with the HU (unless faulty). It will be down to poor quality installation or Ariel adapter. The USB recognition is strange again perhaps a faulty unit. As for stalk controls, there are always 2 parts one specific to the headunit (which probably only come from parrot) and one specific to the car which will only be available from Autoleads in the UK, availability for this would be down to you and the installer.
@projectuno1 there isnt a cubby hold but its deckless so you could easily store a HDD or similar behind the unit in the dash, as for spotify, theres currently no Asteroid designed app for is meaning you only option would be Line in. Thats not to say there wont be future support with 3rd party apps which will hopefully pick up with the new 2012 Asteroid units.

My phone-contacts was imported via bluetooth with no problem. 9 out of 10! Only in special car-audio shops!

I have a Spotify Premium account on my iPhone 4 that allows me to store tracks on the Phone.
Does the Asteroid allow me to navigate Spotify and play these 'Offline' playlists?
Does the Asteroid have the cubby hole behind the face, like the previous model?
If it does, I will buy one of these as it is a decent looking design unlike the majority of headunits that have millions of tiny buttons on them.
