A leader has to be more concerned about his/her own people before considering the population of a foreign country, especially one that we were at war against. Japan was given an ultimatum. they refused to surrender, even after countless bombing raids. only 200,000 japanese died from the atomic bombings and radiation. regardless, way more marines and japanese people would have died had the marines tried taking Japan. (especially considering how nationalistic the Japanese were/still are.)

I live in a military town and unfortunately, the military is taken for granted here. They see soldiers everyday and complain about programs they are given, such as tax breaks. It makes me sick to be surrounded by some of these people. They should thank a soldier each time they see one. Instead, they are petty and forget what our soldiers are doing everyday which entitles them to the benefits they receive.

A leader has to be more concerned about his/her own people before considering the population of a foreign country, especially one that we were at war against. Japan was given an ultimatum. they refused to surrender, even after countless bombing raids. only 200,000 japanese died from the atomic bombings and radiation. regardless, way more marines and japanese people would have died had the marines tried taking Japan. (especially considering how nationalistic the Japanese were/still are.)

i know they were fighting the russians, WHILE being funded by the US. but the russains withdrew in 1988. that was 13 years before the US invaded. much of the population did experience human rights violations while the taliban were in control.. i have to applaud their work with almost completely eradicating opium cultivation though..

I live in a military town and unfortunately, the military is taken for granted here. They see soldiers everyday and complain about programs they are given, such as tax breaks. It makes me sick to be surrounded by some of these people. They should thank a soldier each time they see one. Instead, they are petty and forget what our soldiers are doing everyday which entitles them to the benefits they receive.

I know whats going on in Iraq. I've been there. I saved 2 Iraqi children from being martryed by insurgents. They were bleeding to death in my arms and I ran with them hanging on to me to battallion aid. Both of them lived. Am I a killer to you? I served for 13 years and had 3 deployments to Iraq with the 1st./506-RCT.E-Co. 101st.Airborne.

A lot of people do not support this war, but this does not stop me believing somethings are just worth fighting for.
Sure, the mid east been at war for god knows how long, but we are trying to do so. ALso prevent terrorist organizations that attack innocent people, such the ones in Ireland and New york. Both were caused by middle east terrorist group. So, should we still let them roam around? There has not been 1 terror atk since USA and Canada invaded Iraq, some UK's also. Know your facts.

At the end of the day the thing you fight for over there is the person next to you, weather he's an american or "raghead" as some people say, they are still the guys you fight next to, and still the people you have a relationship with that is forged in the fire of combat. and no matter who that is they would give there life for you, and you would do that same. so "our troops" are not only Americans, the also Iraqis and Brits and Canadians.

In spite of my personal opinions about the war and our traitorous Govt ( many Vets are hurt, disillusioned, and can't even get decent healthcare upon returning home). We all need to support our troops! I pray daily for all of you service men and women. God Bless!
