  • Also I will echo what the other guy said about the c1000s. I own one and it's great for acoustic guitar and will really bring it out to it's full tone in the mix. A large diaphragm condenser would do well also, perhaps better. A Rode NT2A is a nice mic and versatile, sounds great on acoustic as well.

  • @MrDrjenk Thanks, I am actually looking into getting a NT2A at the moment.

  • Nice job. Now I want an sm7b.

  • @MrDrjenk Thanks, They are great microphones :)

  • if the moon were made of bbq spare ribs, would ya eat it then? your thoughts?

  • that was tastefully executed! solid job duude!

  • @TAYLORHWALL Thanks!

  • Vocals sound good through this mic. For guitar you should consider a small condenser mic an AKG C1000s would probably be a good one for you. Mic in on the 12 fret and if you want a bit more bass, a little bit more to the soundhole of you guitar.

Don't listen to the comments of the drinking and the smoking, that's just bs.

    Keep recording, doing good!

  • @richbrutus Thanks!

  • @TravisMoore Another thing. You might want to try out some preamps, you say your tascam has preamps, ofcourse that is true, but there are special preamps for mics. A Goldmic or an ART for example (you have ART preamps that you can get from Ebay for only 20 bucks,) others are Joe Meek , Focusrite (very good but a bit more expensive) or if you are handy you can try and build one. if you want to invest in sound in your studio, than that plus he condenser I was talking about would be the next step

  • @richbrutus Cool, thanks for the tip. I will look into getting one of those next :)

  • what? you don't drink? why the fc do you play music then?

  • nice nice nice very nice

  • nice nice nice

  • keep it up, you'll get better :) check out my cover

  • yeah the mic is too close to the guitar so it really sounds "boomy"

  • vocals need more growl. Smoke a cig and take 2 shots before.

Mic is about 2-3'' to close to the sound hole.

  • @mrweems Thanks for the tip on the distance. Not sure about taking up smoking though lol

  • @TravisMoore Doing the right vocal exercises and warm ups helps... But for the love of God... don't take up either smoking or drinking to "make" your voice...

  • @Xatari You don't have to worry about that, neither of them really appeal to me.

  • @TravisMoore Good! Because those are bullshit tips

  • @mrweems lolol, amen.

  • @mrweems Don't perpetuate that myth. Nothing kills a voice like drinking alcohol or smoking because it dries your cords right the fuck out. Lukewarm water, a little push down in the diaphragm and gut area and learning how to manipulate your soft palate will get ya some grit.

  • Sounds nice.. what pre amp were you using

  • @rore010 Thanks, Mic is straight into my Tascam US-1641 which has built in preamps.

  • Great song and nice cover. .Nice voice too .Feel free to visit my channel and leave a comment . Thanks !
