I'm surprised how full it sounds. Usually when bands play on tv shows, it sounds kinda...hollow? And i would expect of Montreal to be one of those bands because Kevin does so much overdubbing that it'd be hard to capture the sound live. But they definitely did. I dont have a studio version to compare to so that might be why. But that also makes me really excited for the album.
Solange is great in this. I haven't really heard her do anything before this.
Hey, on the ofmontreal(dot)net site there's also a vid of a web-exclusive performance on Fallon of 'Coquet Coquette.' Second vid down from the top. No Solange on that one.
I'm seeing their show tomorrow night. Can't wait! Can't wait! CAN'T WAIT. I've appreciated their whole career, loved the past 4 (5?, 6?) albums, especially what some of you refer to as 'hipster bullshit.' If you can't flow with this scene, I wish you peace. These guys are love, baby.
Don't get me wrong Kevin Barnes is one of my fav musicians but wtf was the matter w/ him during this performance? He shows zero energy (which is puzzling considering he puts on some of the most energetic shows I've seen) and just looks straight up akward. Look at the gd camera kevin!
@SadPandaPal It's not like their album output isn't such that they won't come out with an album you'll like in a year. In the meantime, keep listening! :)
kevin barnes voice is so unbelievable in this song,

Seeing them on Fallon was my first time hearing this group. I really like their sound, and I'll definitely look out for their new album!

I'm a fan of Of Montreal, but whenever I looked away I thought Flight of the Conchords was on.
