So the title of the video is somewhat misleading, because there are lots of pros BALANCED by lots of cons. I appreciate the use of jargon (Glocalize, McDonaldize, and CocaColanize) in videos such as these! That adds to the entertainment and recall of the videos.

Proof that Indians are not "stealing jobs" is the fact that despite decades of outsourcing, US unemployment rate (before the recession) has remained constant at 4%. Only explanation for that is that Americans who lost their jobs to India got other (likely better) jobs. Outsourcing most likely only helped, because it freed up more Americans to do higher-earning jobs, and to innovate more.

You are thinking of unemployment as in the people who are on government unemployment, which is regulated. When people's unemployment runs out they are dropped off of the statistic as "employed" even if they don't have a job. My company is outsourcing a percentage of development to HCL Technologies, InfoSys, and Changepond. So far, in the last four years, I have had to rewrite at least four projects because their code was a sloppy, hacked, copy/paste nightmare. Initially, management marvelled at how cheap and quick they were, but the legacy of clunky, bug-ridden software is becoming embarrassing.

When all other cost are added in often it is cheaper to produce here in the U.S. The very reason Toyota keeps building plants here and sourcing parts near those plants. The U.S. industry doesn't get it and thus will just keep shrinking. U.S. executives are some of the dumbest and most overpaid in the world. I'd be happy to see some Indians come run these U.S. companies. The Indians would understand the logic.
I live in India. 3 yrs ago, I had bought an IPhone which was sold at $800 in India and at $400 in USA. So, I chose to get it from USA. It would be unfair, if an Indian store owner curses Americans for selling the phone for less.

So the title of the video is somewhat misleading, because there are lots of pros BALANCED by lots of cons. I appreciate the use of jargon (Glocalize, McDonaldize, and CocaColanize) in videos such as these! That adds to the entertainment and recall of the videos.

Proof that Indians are not "stealing jobs" is the fact that despite decades of outsourcing, US unemployment rate (before the recession) has remained constant at 4%. Only explanation for that is that Americans who lost their jobs to India got other (likely better) jobs. Outsourcing most likely only helped, because it freed up more Americans to do higher-earning jobs, and to innovate more.

You are thinking of unemployment as in the people who are on government unemployment, which is regulated. When people's unemployment runs out they are dropped off of the statistic as "employed" even if they don't have a job. So far, in the last four years, I have had to rewrite at least four projects because their code was a sloppy, hacked, copy/paste nightmare. Initially, management marvelled at how cheap and quick they were, but the legacy of clunky, bug-ridden software is becoming embarrassing.

I have been working with east Indians for over 30 years and they are for the most part AVERAGE at best. Their is no brain drain, the proof shows that their is DOLLAR drain. @mrjoemeca Outsourcing manufacturing is only less expensive in the labor rate. When all other cost are added in often it is cheaper to produce here in the U.S. The very reason Toyota keeps building plants here and sourcing parts near those plants. The U.S. industry doesn't get it and thus will just keep shrinking. U.S. executives are some of the dumbest and most overpaid in the world. I'd be happy to see some Indians come run these U.S. companies. The Indians would understand the logic.

I live in India. 3 yrs ago, I had bought an IPhone which was sold at $800 in India and at $400 in USA. So, I chose to get it from USA. It would be unfair, if an Indian store owner curses Americans for selling the phone for less.
I am sorry that you think that we stole your jobs. I wouldn't if I had options. Now, what are we doing with this money? I own a Ford (USA), a Compaq (USA), a Blackberry (Canada) and so on. It's again going back to you.

@manishsingh4u I don't begrudge you for "taking our jobs". They're not ours to offer, but the businesses, and everybody benefits from that mutual agreement. People don't usually think capitalism is beautiful, but the way that we work together towards our own self interest is, in my opinion. And it's probably the only way to achieve world peace (if there is one). Neither you, nor any business, has to justify whatever agreement is made between the two of you.
