Hi Dan. You should check out the new Coltrane Record they've released in Germany before christmas. It's a legandary session coltrane recorded with stan getz, Wynton Kelly and oscar peterson for a local tv station. Very good sound an it was also releaed on viny: .amazon.de/1960-D%C3%BCsseldorf-Vinyl-John-Coltrane/dp/B0044S0ZPE/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1299616020&sr=1-2-fkmr0
@darkryder14 haha, oh yeah! I did buy a few CDs from the shop, but they were used, so I guess this Coltrane is the first NEW CD I've bought in years! -Dan
Whatever one may think about CDs, they sure won't earn environmental protection prizes for their packaging. I know that every medium has to have its packaging identity but those bulky plastic cases aren't necessary at all.
Nice.. that's funny, you do actually buy cd's on occasion huh? For some reason I just assumed you didn't, that Coltrane was actually something I was gonna recommend to you. So it's good to know you're not one of those types of people that would deprive themselves of great music just because it's not on vinyl..:) But yeah that's an amazing recording, I bought that when it was first released.. Haven't listened to it in over 10yrs.. I think I'll put that one on now.. Anyway glad you're enjoying it
so that great looking black Boris LP has different parts of the mix on two separate records? those Coltrane songs are the LONGEST i've ever seen! Floyd and Zeppelin took notes! i thought that was T. Bundy, weird.nice change from the usual Manson pics.
I know Zaireeka has a "perfect mix" online somewhere at 320, but knowing you, would probably want to play them all a difficult way. xD And damn, I looked up that Stephen O'Malley and Atsuo thing. Loving every second of it. THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTION!
@Threecreation the mixed version of Zaireeka is a good album, but if you play it on 4 players all around the room it becomes an astonishing album. So so worth it.
If you ever get a chance to listen Zaireeka by the Flaming Lips you should. Its quite an incredible experience. But i think you may need a triple or quadruple setup at the least
Awesome video man- well done. The convenience of the CD cannot be denied but they are hard to feel a connection to. I have a bunch of CDs and I never took care of them, just didn't care. From day one I cared about my vinyl. Also CDs today are starting to sound better than they used to but still lacking that something vinyl has.
I'm surprised you didn't try out the Domevil while you still had the Pro-ject, unless the two didn't coincide? Anyway, great video. My Angels of Darkness arrived today!
Dude, I think I dig your taste in music... you haven't talked about anything that I don't like this whole interview. Well done.

@FrF that isn't the problem. INTRINSIC and planned obsolescence are the problems.

Your Coltrane selection grows more impressive each update. The Boris experience sounds like it's worth the effort.
