It's bizarre how all the best ps2 sport games were from 2004 (Tiger woods golf, Fight night, AFL, though still frustrating) then they keep changing the gameplay every year & they usually suck! I think there's one version of this where your forced to punch with the toggle & that sucks dick!

Look at FN 2004 the way the punches sound and felt when hitting an oppents chin compared to FNR 4 it felt like you were actually hitting somebodys chin in FN 2004,The new FN champion has improved alot,but the response time after you push a button is still too slow in my opinion and its too easy for a amateur player to score a knockout agint a more experienced playr with one punch.And in the instant replay animations the way the head moves after a punch hits it is not better then FNR3

Demo of champoin has given me high hopes for that game though, fast and poerful with the blocking and dodging streamlined.

@Packetping you really thought so? For me round 2 was a complete let down. They removed the funny ragdoll effects that were realistic too and replaced it with those shitty haymakers, and I thought the graphics were worse on round 2. Fight night 2004 is still the best boxing game ever made.

i like this game but i had a created boxer took him through career and at the time iswas a noob but i got him trained up and won the world heavyweight from joe frazier but then right after i win it my guy retires that year... this is weird cause his age was only 34 and he had 57 ko's 1 lloss by ko' and ide won the gloves of stone ever single year of his career and he retires at 34 thats just weird..

@ploutry fightnight 2004 had its drawbacks but the speed,sharp looking punches,and the way the fighters head reacted when hit with punches was realistic.FNR3 was a little better as far as graphics one punch knockouts, and speed,fightnight round 4 tottally went down hill in my opinion,the graphics were better but the punches and movement were too sloww it feels like everythings in slowmotion now.All they had to do was use the same speed from fightnight 2004 and combine it with the better graphic
