thank you elly. see what i mean about beauty? i have never felt more ravaged, more disfigured, more humiliated and humble about my looks than i do now. i am in the midst of a struggle with typical american health insurance madness-the removal of my teeth was approved, but not as yet the making and fitting of the dentures i need to not have to live as a toothless hag- still this project needed completing so i let go my ego. and you say you find it beautiful!? that's what i call true love, you see
You are a true inspiration. Your voice, and long black hair, with beautiful peaceful ideals remind me of a Joan Baez type of woman. The image of a woman you think of when someone says " Native American Indian Wise Woman"
did you read what liz says? willie will watch as many collabs using this for sound track as we send -- um... how busy are you? might ye be interested?your work would be featured on the project's webpage
concha'd like to do visuals for one, but i'm stumped when it comes to how to configure the settings from imovie to an email file,or just send her the soundtrack or whatever. i've learned so much in a year and i still dont know bo diddly about some basics!
Thank you so much for starting my Sunday with the peaceful revolution, Rachel! What a beautiful song. Just before this video, I listened to my granddad's tribute to WWII war correspondent Ernie Pyle (from university audio archives) and in it my grandpa discusses how Ernie hated all wars but that he was compelled to cover it - now I know the reason - Ernie too wanted to bring about Peaceful Revolution! 5 stars!
that's awesome bill... i posted thanks & a response to this yesterday which has vanished... i asked if you might like to share with ustube that archived tribute? i bet it's pretty wonderful
Thanks, I'm going to make a video on it as I also now have the tribute from the Congressional Record too. It's an awesome tribute as Ernie Pyle, a Pullitzer prizer winner, was loved by both the soldiers and his readers.
Rachel, the musical intro with text is a beautiful way to get our attention and get us ready for your vocals. Unique presentation with lots of heart. Look forward to featuring you on Willie's Peace site. Liz
Rachel, love your a cappella version, so pure and simple in arrangement with a beautiful complexity in lyrics. A wonderful balance. You did an incredible job creating new meaning and power to this tune. I was glad I had a chance to hear all the new lyrics and think about them without the distraction of a musical soundtrack. You have so many ideas for peaceful solutions I will gladly listen many more times to comprehend the richness and intelligence of your art for peace. Thank you so much. Liz
a friend in spain is working on visuals and another in los angeles has already privately sent me his mashup version of this... might we consider posting one or the other of these collabs as i am self conscious about my toothless condition?
ugh! it is mortifying... like emily dickinson i run upstairs and hide when company visits unless it is somebody who i trust can see me deeper than surface level. the state has a policy of putting poor people through embarrassing hell when we need health care. rather than maintain older people's teeth they tend to yank em all, even the healthy ones, easier to just give everybody dentures. but in my case the teeth are now yanked and the application for dentures keeps getting turned down. crazy!
i feel pretty nervy! shaking like a leaf for days now from all the blushes and rushes doing this has caused me, lol. liz of the willie nelson team coaxed this out of me in spite of all my excuses and procrastinations. i reached a point of exasperation with my own exasperation. dig it! to me it feels powerful, kind of overwhelming, like the message is so much stronger than the messenger. i'm happy to have carried it out. can hardly wait to sync up our collab! {{{{{{{peace}}}}}}}
Rachel, let's feature them both. They will be different and Willie would love to see and hear both. He says he'll watch as many as you make. It would be wonderful. We would only feature what you are comfortable with. Thanks and get better soon. Liz
yep we gotta keep spreading those rumors of peace, hinting at outbreaks of joy, oases of lovingkindness or some people just won't believe they're possible anymore. there's a lot of strife out there, but peace is always possible in the human heart. surely the human spirit will always find its way to the heart of things-- that's where true peace is. lovin u thhhhhhisssss much my bro
i keep trying to say thanks over and over, & that your friendship means a lot to me. i really hope this comment sticks around long enuf for you to see it!
i dont know why, concha, mi amor, i keep trying to reply here with a comment and a hug, but the messages i type keep deleting when i try posting to you. i first saw your sweety comment (and tried to answer it) when it was just some minutes old. it's weird because the other replies i left at the same time all seem to have stuck where i left em. just the ones to you-- i came back and tried to repost two or three times--to no avail. oh well, trying again-HUGS concha!
would you consider doing a beauteous visual vid portion with this for soundtrack? twoud be so much better if illuminated and informed by your remarkable eye! (in my mind far less embarrasing, too, than this version, with my ill-lit, snaggle-toothed mug) liz of willienelsonpri wants to feature my song on the peace project's webpage... please consider a collab, would you? one more hugs! ok one more!
People are afraid to be different & their even more afraid to be the same, so most just try to fit in, to be normal... denying themselves & others the gift of their own unique truth. Thus they are divided by all the superficial exteriors & dogma that fear offers, while their true self holds back the reality that connects them all as one people, peace in their hearts.
When one is open to sharing that peace, all are closer to creating a World Peace.
don't let's be afraid of this n that so many other things to think! we're free focus our attention anywhere, so many things seem important til we see them as unimportant. more importantly, check in, how are u now? can i help somehow? more meaningful. who hasn't any fears? dance anyway. sing anyway. be peaceful anyway, it'll usually help if someone stays calm. my credo. just focus on the common ground, the peace we all love and need, and let what we cannot ever understand about each other just be
I really enjoyed this and i'm honestly kind of a music snob.
P.S. Save the Drake! LOL You must be from Amherst.
