I wouldn't really call a Catholic School a fundamentalist school. And like you said, God was something you spoke to when you needed comfort so why do so many seek to destroy a belief in God then, when it is literally all some people have?
Perhaps it's one of those things that go with a poem I'd heard that mentions believing in childish things as a child, then growing up, and putting away those childish things. Many of us try very hard to believe because we need to be able to trust that there is stability in existence that can be depended upon. We depend completely on our parents. To find they are wrong within that framework is horrifying. Oh, what we wont do to make them right. At times, we'll twist our minds in impossible ways.
I think just about all of us feel a little better once we can see through the illusions. Or at least that illusion. I'm much happier without religion clouding my judgment (or wasting my time).
Dude i went to a catholic school!! when i left and went into the real world i found that all you need is Jesus"
Have you notice that the catholic church like to show a Dead Jesus on the cross ? Because they really want to show us that Jesus is dead!! when we know hes not.
The Catholic religion is straight out of the pits of hell. I do not call Catholicism a "church" because it is NOT a church, it is a FALSE religion. How can you have a "church" when heathen people gather in the name of false doctrine? You cannot! Jesus clearly made a direct correlation between worship and doctrine in Mark 6:6-9
much fun ! Funny, we never read the Bible. But we did go to church every school day. Since I was in the choir, I was fortunate to be able to go sometimes 3 times in one great day ; )
I could never understand why you would go to hell for not attending church ? Oh yeah.
I'm so happy I didn't go to Catholic school... never had a "religious" upbringing forced on me. Hearing other people's stories helps me realize how free I really was when I was younger hehe. Well, at least in this area ;)
Someone, I forget who, once quipped that going to Catholic parochial school is like getting an inoculation against adult Catholic faith.
I had five years in Catholic school. As a teenager I rebelled by becoming a fundamentalist Christian. Good move, huh? Everyone else was rebelling by having fun.
I didn't go to Catholic school but I went to CCD for 8 years. The Dogma turned me off. In part, because I went to CCD, I am no longer a Catholic. Also I did some searching as to the existence of a God and I could not find any proof to convince me of a "God". I certainly don't believe in a personal God, especially the Jerry Falwell/Pat Robertson kind. I am open to the belief of a Universal Life Force.
I've got ya beat, Erik. 17 years of Catholic school with 3 years of Sunday school before that and the Jesuit leadership at my university spelled it out that there is no God and the Bible is trash.
My high school was catholic too but they were responsible about it. The teacher taught religion in an academic way but there was morning prayers and mass on certain days of the year. They employed atheists, protestants, and Jews too. I'd send my kids there if I ever made that mistake.
Yeah, I think the catholic church (in America at least) is a psuedoreligion. After all, it seems like all of the big government liberals in congress are catholic, and their god is government. By the way, I've been subscribed to your channel for a while now, and although I was dubious about the whole anarchism idea at first, I can find very little reason to not agree with it. (hope that isn't too confusing for you)
I've noticed a large number of people turning away from God because of the Catholic Church/Schools (I'm a Lutheran myself). If anyone is pissed by this message, then they would have to be simple minded.
here's something you don't here anymore--"God is Truth"--'cause there ain't no truth to be found--anywhere!

Priest and Nuns arent alllowed to marry =
if they bore children, the church would have to pay for their upbringing.

Why do you think birth control is banned?
Because they want MORE sheeple to go to church so they can donate 10% each and every church day. The more born, the more to contribute 10%. Tithe
