Wayne, I think you should buy those plastic lightsaber that don't compact for the saber fights, and then you should buy just the hilt for the ignition sequence, then you would have this down perfectly. Heck, I'd buy them for you if you showed me how you do this effect. Mike Simek

I used adobe after effects, and yes, there was nothing but air between us, which made editing very difficult.
