If you turn off indexing, you'll free up some hard drive space. Just uncheck the - index files for faster searching - box. And then let it run for a good, long time since you have over 1 terabyte of stuff. It's deleting all the indexes, which take up a lot of space.
As far as I can tell, the indexing doesn't make searching any faster, or at least, not enough to matter.
Didn't work for me. I put in a video from my camcorder and it reduced the file size but the video became unwatchable. It is an HD video. What can I do?
@TechGeekProductions Do you have a MP4 Player? Try putting it in Sony Vegas or Windows Movie maker, or whatever you'd use to edit the video... If that doesn't work, try uploading it to youtube.... IF that doesn't work.. then i'm not sure what to do.
@themrgamefanatic I don't understand what you mean. I put an HD mp4 file into the converter and it compressed the video but the quality became rubbish.
@TechGeekProductions Your supposed to put the AVI into it, to make the file an MP4 which is A LOT smaller size than an AVI with the same quality... If you don't believe the quality is the same, you can go on the program and on the bottom, there is a "Quality" drop down... Change that to 'Superb' if you care to. I keep mine on 'good'
Another way to do it is, record the footage you want. Edit the video the way you want it to appear on youtube. Do not have to narrate it yet. Once your editing is done, DELETE the raw footage from fraps. Store the edited file until you want to narrate then up to youtube when you are ready. You will save a lot of space that way as well.
