If this rifle has a quick change barrel option and select fire mode, it probably become a contender in several military organizations. I am sure that it will have several foreign contracts as well as Covert Ops contracts.
Not a chance in hell unless this thing can survive military trails. No Kel-Tec firearm has done this to date as they aren't exactly built for warfare. At best, they're targeted at hobbyists. And "Covert Ops"? What do you base this on?
@Search4diabetescure Keltec primary target in gun sales is to the general public, not military. Otherwise they would have built that rifle in a different caliber other than .308. Keltec is doing a good job cause you can't find a RFB anywhere. Far as military it takes a lot a money to develop a rifle that can withstand having a grenade detonated near it, something that rifle will never see being sold as recreational rifle.
@opmike343 once someone talks about "covert" "black" or "deniable" ops it means two things. Either they are talking about bs, or they are a sorry excuse for a soldier of their country talking about their countries secrets (not that this would be a big deal if the military got kel-tec arms). No one except those in special forces truly knows what goes on, and it needs to stay that way.
@IMnotSAS This is the first time I have seen this gun, and even if I could buy it, I would still go with an AR-10, but what was wrong with this gun. I know kel-tec has had a lot of problems in the past with their designs, but I thought they fixed them.
So that mean all us commies in Kalifornia can get one hopefully? Because, you know, the 18" barrel version is too short for the anti-gun legislature and CA DOJ who make up arbitrary rules about gun dimensions infringing on our 2nd amendment rights.
Make it in .260 Rem with 20" barrel and I'll be on it like a duck on a june bug. Also, derekflinn, it would be silly to put a gun this big/heavy in a chambering of the size of 556x45. But .243 win or .260 rem, however.... as for .308 in 24" bbl - meh, I can see it, sorta, but why? If you want better long range performance (out past 300 yards), then just chamber in .260 with a 20" bbl - would outperform .308/24" - we've GOT to get past this .308 is the shiznizzle nonsense.
What about just making a 556 RFB in a 16in barrel. Why would you want a 24 inch 308 RFB theirs many other products that out class this in this price range. I've seen some dumb products in this years shot show. As others have said Kel-tec needs to ramp up its been sometime since I've seen there products at any gun shops in my area.
love the bullpup design, but if i were getting a 24" barrel id probably get another gun. kinda takes away from the bullpup design to keep the gun short. I love the Short barreled one they sell.. but still waiting for my Sub 2000 order to be delivered.. backordered. they need to expand their production shop and crank these bad boys out while they're hot and they have our interest.
@leongaines I agree with both points. The whole point of a bullpup is to make the rifle as short as possible yet still effective. Other chamberings with the 18 inch barrel make more sense than elongating the 308 barrel length. Kel Tec's #1 problem is they are a relatively small gun maker (compared to S&W, Ruger, Colt, etc) and they always out-market their manufacturing capacity, hence the ridiculously long wait time.
why?

@opmike343 Based on nothing, really! By the way, did you spend 1 day in the service of the United States in uniform, or just a wannabe?
Search4diabetescure 4 weeks ago
@opmike343 - That's what I thought. Not 1 day in service.

It's about time. I was wondering if they would ever be able to put out the other barrel lengths.
