Obviously, these matches were scripted, but I do believe that some of the wrestlers designated to win took their roles a bit too seriously. The main reason why they played their heel roles to the maximum was simple: to enhance their status as hated villains which in turn would convince the circuit executives to make bigger stars out of them. This is no different from an actor improvising their role without the knowledge of the director. The Dazzler very likely acted on her own here.
this match is part of the AWA - POWW merger / The Dazzler was not in wrestling long, but she made a great heel and her matches with Wendi are very good. i would have loved to see her vs Malibu or Brandi mae - she wold have killed them.
Ok, it was a very stiff match, but was Kitty ...even the most remotely of trained?I am just saying...Daz worked with Wendi..Kitty went on to work with...Paradise.Note the contrast. This reminds me of the Kamala or Bundy squash matches from the eighties, where the opponent looked like some bum that they picked up off of the streets, or some bar, or a buffet. The poor slob got beaten nearly to death and you never saw him again.Yes, Daz totally no sold this sexy little girl..
@blackcottoncandycane but...little girl should have known better...and I honestly believe that Daz was mean and cruel and truly made Kitty hurt...long before the moonsault ever happened...but this kind of shit happened all the time...and Verne...and his true or faked concern for this sacrifice to the kraken...well, he was a man of wrestling...he also should have known better...and if Verne wasn't pulling the strings,he should have spoken up and got excited long before the opening bell rang...
@blackcottoncandycane not when they were trying to scrape Kitty up off of the canvas.Allison would have sold Daz all day...and would have walked back to the dressing room unassisted.But...yes, Miss Kitty was quite sexy being drilled into the ground without mercy.
@Kubrickfilmfan73 come on, man, everyone was sotned on cocaine and booze back then. No one paid attention to where anyone was from and if they did, they were so stoned that many of them thought that there was a town called aberdeen texas in Rockford Illinois.
I saw Miss Kitty wrestle Cindy Paradise in a TV match once. Been trying to find that on the internet, to no avail. As I recall, it seems like it was pretty even handed, and Cindy may have won.

@blackcottoncandycane, wrestling was painfully real back then indeed.

Miss Kitty was pretty...LOL!! But the well stacked Dazzler took her to school. Did the Dazzler ever get another shot at Wendi?
