  • great to hear this again

  • Just Beautiful love Donnies voice

  • Go h-alainn.

    Is Eireannach mise.

  • im gonna see runrig on friday, makes me sad that there is less gaelic now that donnie is gone

  • I can understand most of the song cos I speak Irish Gaelic which is so similar as equally as beautiful! :D Runrig go brách!

  • I love this song ... gonna sing it a capella on a pagan wedding this weekend :-)

  • i don't know how to describe the emotions this song raises within me... cianalas? donnie's voice is out of this world, and the subtle beauty of the backup vocals makes my heart ache.

  • hmmmmm ist das schön ....

  • If this doesn't move you, you simply have no soul.

Mara isn't Runrig's best album overall, but it's worth buying for this magnificent track and Meadhan Oidhcre Air An Acairseid.

As an English speaker, I find Runrig's Gaelic songs to be quite wonderful. They have inspired me to learn Gaelic!

  • @tonythekingfisher I'd quite agree. Mara isn't the strongest of Runrig's album but Thairis and Meadhan Oidhche Air An Acairseid are good.

Have to say that Searchlight is my favourite with The Big Wheel a close second!

    's math sin!

  • @tonythekingfisher "Midnight On The Anchorage" isn't on youtube at present. Can anyone remedy that? Thanks

  • @tonythekingfisher where or how did you learn gaelic? i'm german and it's very difficult to find someone to teach me...i love this language, but most people in germany don't even know gaelic is existing. so i've been trying to teach myself, but especially the pronunciation is very hard to learn. got any insider tips for me?

  • saw runrig live last year best band ever

  • absolutely beautiful song, amazing, hairs up on the back of the neck!

  • Only one word for it BEAUTIFUL

  • superb

  • elegancki, bardzo ładny!

  • Paul, I especially like the way you did lyrics!

Love what you are doing; love Runrig! Thanks!

  • im a big runig fan but i only recently discovered the Mara album and OMG its brilliant, and this is one of my favorites from it.

love it when the giutar goes high with his voice towards the end. goosebumps all the way

  • this is real music - one day i´ll have to go - this will be the song played... cn

  • i was brought up listening to runrig! from i small boy i always thought runrigs spirit ad soul with with donny and the brothers. But now runrig will never be the same. A canadian god singer that he is! Will never have the heart as soul thats needed!!

  • Who is singing is Donnie Munro born in Uig, Isle of Skye of Scotland. His native language is Scottish Gaelic and so is the lyric of this beautiful song.

When he retired from Runrig he was replaced by Bruce Guthro, who indeed is a great singer from Canada.

  • Bruce Guthro have nevr sung this song... requires to be gaelic speaker to give the proper emotion to the song.

  • The VERY BEST of Runrig

  • Simply beautiful.

  • My fave Runrig song, love it! =D

  • Sends chills down your spine

  • Audio I'm afraid. Unfortunately it is off of iTunes and won't let me upload due to protection (unless soneone knows how?)

It is the live version they did in Glasgow 1996.

  • Currently uploading...not put the lyrics on however. Will link to it asap.

  • Video or audio?

  • By far the most beautiful voice i have ever heard, i would love to see/hear this live! are there any recordings anyone could put up?

  • I have a live version

  • Donnie's voice is stunning! Thanks for sharing!

  • Donnie´s voice is the very best.

    Moran taing

  • this was donnie's voice at its purest just adore this song.

  • Beutiful isn't it.
