  • drawn together anyone?

  • I always wondered who was the guy on that bike, and where is he now lol

  • yep this song was made for the 21st century

  • The fat kid @ 0:23 looking at the camera with evil eyes always had me laughing.

  • @CosmicGrounds He/she looks like the love child of Florida and Buffalo Butt

  • I used to always think the lady at 0:22 was Florida because she look just like her from a far distance lol. Does anyone else agree?

  • @SiggasFan24 Actually it looks like someone else who's about 15 years younger, at least.

  • @MrSchultzstaffel lol but I used to think that was Florida and the rest of the family lmao.

  • @SiggasFan24 Well, I looked at it again...I don't see JJ or James there...Michael's not there...so it would only be Thelma or Florida...and it dosen't look like their physical builds. Thelma was an extremely statuesque, muscular and in shape dancer...I don't see that walking by there.

  • @MrSchultzstaffel Yeah yeah whatever. I should've just said Florida Thelma and Wilona. I know James JJ and Michael wasnt there.

  • "...keep'in your head above water...make'in a way when you can...temporary lay-off's...good-times...easy-credit rip-off's...good-times... sctatch'in and survive'in...good-times...hang'in in a jolla?" Now hold it, hold it..."hang'in in a jolla?" What the hell is that? I even had the closed-captioning on the TV on when this part came around, (with subtitles below,) and it read as *UN-INTELLIGIBLE* when this "hang'in in a jolla" came up! Ghetto-people please tell this white man what that means! =(

  • @MrSchultzstaffel I think it was hangin in a jury

  • @wewacian But that makes no sense..."hang'in in a jury." It always sounded like "jolla," whatever that was. So it must be something similar to "jolla." It could have been "colla," (as in collar;) represenative of the man's oppression of the hood. I ought' to know because I'm white...just like the man himself! But...that's still a bit of a stretch. It dosen't flow with "temporary lay-off's," or "easy credit rip-off's," let alone "scratch'in and survie'in." This is an inner city mystery! =O

  • @MrSchultzstaffel it's hangin in a chow line

  • @MegaBigdawg75 ..well in the words of the Dolemite..."God-Damn! 30 years of wondering didn't yeild a thing...until Mega-Big-Dawg done gave me the bling!" Hmmm...well, it sounds like Rudy Ray Moore...but "hangin' in a chow line" makes perfect sense and fit's right into the song. Even the closed captioning on the TV didn't break it down so I knew that mysetry was a tough one! Thanks from the white side Mega-Big-Dawg! "What it izzz...what it wuzzz...and...what it will beee..." Much love! =D

  • Ain't we lucky we got'em....GOOD TIMES!!!!!!!

  • 9 people couldnt keep their heads above water......and drowned >.>

  • Dave Chappelle brought me here!

  • Drawn Together brought me here :D

  • That was me riding the bike wearin a fat cap ha ha

  • my mom is the lady walking and she opens her arms. =^D

  • Comment removed

  • this should be the song the today's econmey

  • AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT THIS SONG POLLS OUT SO MANY EMOTIONS...

    IDK MAYBE ITS ME..

  • Great themesong! Real life sitcom.

  • Just looking out of the window, Watching the asphalt grow,. Thinking how it all looks hand me down, Good times! Good TImes! Keeping your head above water.... Making a wave when you can, Temporary Layoffs... Good Times, Easy Credit Rip offs, Good TImes, Ain't we luck we got 'em Good Times......
  • you ain't black if you can't recite the good times theme song on command.

  • best theme song ever i hum this song all the time

  • This show is one of my favorites. Its truly a classic.

  • when was this on tv?

  • @allenrnewbauer it comes on tv land everyday

  • Looking at this reminds of how nasty looking chicago is :/

I'm so glad i left. Living there honestly depressed me...

  • per gli utenti italiani...qualcuno sa di chi era la sigla finale della serie nella versione distribuita in italia?

  • Wow - a young Jay Leno guest starred in this episode before anybody even knew who he was.

  • is anyone else here because of the Chappelle show?

  • Hangin' in & Jivin' ~ or ~ Hangin' in a Chow Line????

  • @SkillzZ4ya hangin in a chow line lmao

  • @SkillzZ4ya It's "Hangin' in a JURY"

  • @dreamboynyc2 actually it's hanging in a chow line

  • @dreamboynyc2 no no no its hanging in and jiving

  • DRAWN TOGETHER

  • *Jay Leno as The Young Man. (chuckle)

  • @Gravyballs2011 yeah hahaha

  • Love it!

  • This was the episode where JJ went to test himself for VD as was called back in the day and he met Jay Leno at the clinic!

  • @WizzoPro9476 lol hell yeah

  • Jay Leno as "the young man" at 00:14

  • @rover215 That's how you know this show is old. Jay Leno could still play "young man".

  • For more on Cabrini Green, see Candyman

  • 0:26 is tracy morgan's dad.

  • @funkeworks really?

  • @WizzoPro9476 seriously tracy morgan was on Conan and he said his dad was the one riding the bike with the afro.

  • @funkeworks Really? I always thought what Tracy Morgan's daddy was thinking all this time while riding that bike!

  • @WizzoPro9476 He probably needed to get somewhere important, whatever it was.

  • @funkeworks Interesting! Maybe avioding traffic, or what he ate! Who knows!

  • I Love Dis Show!

  • I never knew this show was set to be in Chicago when I was a kid.

Growing up, I was like...Fuck, Chicago's gross! lol

  • @UFHOES Yep, Cabrini Green

  • 00:14 "Jay Leno as the Young Man WTF?!

  • i have alot of friends who grew up in projects, and spent alot of time in and out of projects while hanging with them. i didnt grow up in the time of this show but this little ending video always gives me chills whenever i see it on reruns. Show is timeless.

  • "hangin in a jury"

  • @tsunamia11an "hangin in a JOHN" or "hangin in a chow line"

  • @shaithis80 "hanging in a chow line" for sure this is the official lyric :)

  • @SeekeroftheOnes but of course.

  • @shaithis80 LOL! I thought that was a real question..til I just read it, Lol!

  • @SeekeroftheOnes I think "hangin' in a job" would've been better; still a great TV theme song. The episode which sticks in my mind was the tainted meat at the supermarket episode where Flo cooks some of the tainted meat and offers it to the manager of the establishement. Classic.

  • @shaithis80 check out "kids singing good times melody" My children singing the theme song..lol

  • im currently doing a hiphop sample song with this

  • @dash257 you have to butcher a classic eh?

  • @Love4SK i mean i not makin a mainstream song its more underground like NUJABES or NOMAK you will understand me better if you check these two guys out

  • DAMN DAMN DAMN

  • Comment removed

  • @MrDiscoFalcon yes. lol

  • Mah GF Just Debated That The Lyrics That Go "Aint We Lucky We Got Em?" Said "Lucy Ricky Ricardo"... What Type Of Foolishness? Lol

  • @lilteen147 were not going to discuss the words you could call your girlfriend right now that are not even close to being her name

  • @ifourshot You Right...We Not...#Chill

  • GOOD times

  • so many depressing events occurred in this tv show...who cannot forget the time when janet jackson aka penny was badly abused by her mother with a hot iron...man...and florida evans ol' saying damn daaamn daaaaaamn lol and jay jay's...dineno mannnnnnnnnnnne LMAO...always watched this show with momz and family...coming up during childhood...

  • @xtremeni99a yeah, soooo true to many depressing events.

To me, it seemed like James was to UPTIGHT, Florida was to HOLIER THAN THOU, Thelma couldn't figure out WHO she was OR WHAT she wanted, JJ was just plain STUPID, the ONLY one who had HALF a brain was Michael.....

Willona was the NOSEY NIEGHBOR with GOSSIP.....

That's just how I feel about it....

To me the show "Progresseed" when James died, they got"better" (so to speak) I liked when Flo got with that guy who was Michael's boss

  • @Getrealpeeps Haha even with all that it was still pretty good.

  • Best theme song ever.

  • i love the end

  • "Just lookin' outta the windowwww...watchin' the asphalt growwwwoahhhh."

  • @sexybj89

I thought it was "Just Looking Out Of The Window, Watching the asphalt GLOW......

Oh well, no biggie, it was a good show

    :)

  • @Getrealpeeps "........Thinkin how it ALL looks hand-me-down (Good times) Yeah E Yeahhh (Good times) Keppin ya Head above water..makin a wave when you cannnn..Temporary lay offs! (Good Times) Easy credit rip offs (Good timmmmeeess) Aint we lucky we got em? (Dun dun dun dun dun-dun!) GOOD TIMMMEESSSSS YYEEAAAHHHHHH!"

Im only 21 but I LOVED this show! LOL

  • @sexybj89 thinking howwwww it allllllll looks hand-me-dowwwwwwnn!!!

  • @WizzoPro9476 Lmao! Sing it!

  • @sexybj89 Good Times! YEHEAAAAAAAAH! GOOD TIMES!

Keeping ya head above waaaataaaaaaaaer! Making a wave when u caaaaaaaaaan!

  • The end credits always sounded like pure gospel to me. I KNOW I hear Esther Rolle in there along with Jan'et Dubois in there. I don't know if people realize that Jan'et wrote or co-wrote and I believe performed the theme song to The Jeffersons. Norman Lear has so many interwoven actors and pieces - and it all started from All In The Family, which led to Maude which led to the Good Times spin-off. Amazing to me.

  • the way drawn together did it was funny

  • I don't remember disparaging any race

The only racist here seems to be you

    You've just been outed!

  • 0:12

    Jay Leno rocking the set

    He played Da White Man!

  • @toyotas2006 fuck you racist

  • @DrFubarProzak

Uh......he didn't play The Black Guy

    He's not a good actor

  • @toyotas2006 i know hes not a good actor....my comment was directed towards some stupid nigger who was trying to hate on white people.

  • haha,i´m here because of drawn together

  • @RapiDEraZeR LMFAO mee too! i wanted to know what that themesong was in the cerial empire episode!

  • @epl0si0n haha,yeah :D

  • @RapiDEraZeR the full original theme is here: youtube / watch?v=TNNBjbJT6nI

  • @epl0si0n thanks :D oh shit

  • man brings back memories

  • drawn together

  • man song makes me feel all warm inside!

  • Me and my grandma use to watch this show every night at 11pm when it aired-on our local fox station. I sure do miss them small times.

    R.I.P. sally aka g-mom!!!

  • I wonder what all those people who were seen in the opening and closing credits are doing today...?

  • @tricianfred probably reflecting the memories on how good the tv series was back then.

  • i always listen to this when im going through bad times..its like a hymn to me

  • Me and my grandma use to watch this show every night at 11pm when it aired-on our local fox station. I sure do miss them small times.

    R.I.P. Lucy Pearl Gladden

  • Lmao @ eshabeby !!!! Hahaaa ..I kno right !!! "My boyfriend cheatin on me ..GOOD TIMES"! Lolz

  • Temporary layoffs Good Times! Hilarious

  • The ones with James are my favorites.

  • haha i love this song so much ill add my own line

my boyfriend just dumped me.....GOOD TIMES!!!!

  • THELMA IS SOOOO FINE....DAMM!

  • @carlo34t64

    AMEN !

  • Need videos of Themla booty!!

  • 0:14 Jay Leno in credits as the "Young Man". I remember this episode lol !

  • I`ve heard that the show was suppose to be in the former Cabrini Green housing. Is that true. I know on the opening and its showing the Chicago areas, it shows some buildings that look like Cabrini Green. Also they were in a high rise building, so I`m thinking that was true, that they were in Cabrini.

  • @bvick777 Yes those were actual pictures from the famous Cabrini Green Projects.

  • its amazing how things have changed

so the hot shot writer pitches his new show

working class black family, their trials and tribulations but such love for each other

so you mean, says the producer, a hard hitting reality show

    no sir a comedy show

  • gotta love good times no show beats this show not even cosby show and thats my fav gotta love jj and thelma!!

  • @clearwhitecrystal I agree, Cosby show was great, but it wasn't funny as Good Times!

  • Does anyone know where we can get the full lyrics?

  • It's a old Stevie Wonder song...if you go on line you should be able to pull it up. Also if you listen to the words you'll be able to hear the words...he sings them slowly

  • Look at those poor blacks at 0:23 to 0:26 ... I wonder what they are doing nowadays.

  • It don't matter. Enjoy the moment. The media got you on that yeasteryears bullshit. Get the fuck on you racist!

  • @skinnypi - that was a great comment

  • time

  • @Jimmy1tooth says... "time"

    Brutal man ... just brutal...

  • Great tv show...Thelma always made me horny though..Dam she was fine...

  • @ratedr739 - that was another great comment

  • who do u think aged better bern nadette stanis or phylicia rashad? i thikn thelma did she is still sexy

  • Jay Leno was on Good Times!! I never knew that.

  • LOL @ "Phil" -- Yes, he was featured on the episode where JJ thought he'd contracted "VD" and went to the clinic to get checked. ;-)

  • @Phil0267 Like one episode. But his main contribution was that he and David Lettermen were comedy writers for Jimmy Walker (JJ).

There's an episode of David's Later NBC show in the 80s where he has Jay on as a guest, and they talk about it. Jay even has a book of Dave's old jokes from the time that he reads from.

  • i remember drawn together with this XD Lol

  • @Nostaljack dont disrespect good time sbro. no way no how.

  • @ BISCUISTS MCGUILLICUDDY

why u here spewing racism? go outside, and

    stop being a keyboard warrior.

seriously,u need a life only loser talk B.S.

    on the youtube.

WOULD U SAY ALL THAT STUFF TO A BLACK PERSON FACE TO FACE? I THINK NOT.

so just fall back and die u piece of turd.

    GOODTIMES FOREVER.

  • Damn "Bitchcuists" U got told LOL

  • what is that chick name that played as thelma evans? and how old is she today?

  • @clearwhitecrystal Her real name is BernNadette Stanis, character - "Thelma Evans". She was born in 1953.

You can see a recent picture of her on imdb (dot) com - type in Good Times once on that site.

  • The Evans weren't depicted as being on Welfare. Nice try, though.

  • You are obviously racist and probably never really watched the show; yes they lived in the projects, but they never received any welfare checks or food stamps, and it's a shame you don't get the brilliance of this classic show.

  • dont be racist

  • Dont be racist

  • What television show music DIDN'T Marilyn and Alan Bergman compose? lol. They really had a great career in composing.

  • awesome show....LOVED ESTER ROLLE

  • "I could've been at home watchin' Good Times"

  • to bad the closing from the pilot was never preserved. I bet that "roaches roaming the hallway" bit was hilarious. but I can see why they changed it,not something you'd want to hear if you were watching this while eating

  • LOL @ Disney Danny's comment about the roaches! Hahahaha!

  • @Disneydanny Oh shit, I never heard that versus, then again I wasn't alive at the time the show started airing. I'm going to go see if I can at least find the lyrics.

  • Loved this show as a kid. There are just no shows of this quality anymore. I related to this family even though I'm white...we were very poor in the 70's, but we always stuck together.

Always wanted James Evans as my dad. Good times!

  • Thank you for posting this outtro when John Amos was still on the show.

  • When I was a kid, I thought Florida and Thelma were walking during the closing credits at 0:23. The stout woman and the girl with the fro looks like them but I know it's not them now.

  • dynomite!

  • Did you notice in the credits, Jay Leno appeared as "the young man."

  • @pinkyzoey Jay Leno and Dave Letterman where joke writers for Jimmy Walker at that time. Yeah, two White guys where doing the jokes for a black ghetto youth.

Back when Jay and Dave where buddies.

  • @pinkyzoey yeah, this was the episode where jj thought he had vd. he meets leno at the free clinic.

  • @pinkyzoey it was the episode when jj went to the doctor because he thought that he had vd

  • @pinkyzoey This episode was about V.D

  • @pinkyzoey Jay Leno and David Letterman also used to write joke lines for Jimmy Walker on this show back when they were friends.

You can see a video youtube of them talking about it on the Late Late Show in the early 80s.

  • @pinkyzoey 0:14 haha :)

  • @pinkyzoey Yeah now he's "the old man" lol.

  • who ever put this on youtube ...thank you very very much...I wanted to find this recording for the longest.

  • janet Jackson was on this for a while

  • This is the greatest theme song of all time to me.
