Order mine today from Toshiba Canada. Only one of 250 available so far! Told I should have it by next Tuesday. When I spoke with the telephone rep he said that they had one in the office last week and everyone was in awe over how this unit worked....
Notebook sem teclado. Gostei da iniciativa tecnológica, mas dependendo da especificação do hardware acho difícil essa geração de notebook conquistarem o mercado.
Its been on sale in Japan for over a month, and you can pre-order one on Amazon and on Toshiba website also. They have an extremely limited supply so good luck! I think they are testing the market atm! Good luck, i'd be all over this if i didn't just get myself an M11x
hoping one day that its common for end users to create their own customizable haptic keyboards - i'd love to have a custom haptic keyboard for programming, another for final cut pro, another for photoshop, etc.
Toshiba, you know full well it isn't that fast. In any case, you need to come down on that price A LOT. Beautiful device, looks looks like it's got loads of potential, but that price...
seriously who wouldn't get this over an oversized iTouch... opps i mean iPad.
Windows 7 > iOS any day and everyday.
i hope to see more of these coming out in the future... and maybe ones that have core i7 processor, nvidia or ati graphics, 1 TB of storage, 6 GB of ram and of course WINDOWS!
Are we ever going to see this in Australia? I wouldn't mind this being my first Toshiba product. Come on Toshiba, throw a little love towards Australia.
I see now why Ballmer killed the Courier dual screen tablet...microsoft didnt need it to bring touch screen devices to market.
because of windows 7, the market seemed to be heading in the direction of a courier like device anyway. Why fragment your own kingdom when you can cater to all with one OS. one OS to rule them all...
Windows 7 is looking more and more attractive to me. My first windows 7 device will be a touch device.
Exactly how tiny are the Japanese folks' fingers? Windows 7 is NOT gonna make this thing as desirable as it could be. You'll end up having to use a tiny stylus with it if you have anywhere near normal-sized fingers.
Though it does have USB, using a USB mouse kinda defeats the purpose of the touchscreen. Sure, it would be fabulous to have, but Windows 7 is kinda ruining it for me.
This is the real innovation, not iPad that is a bad touch netbook without flash and multitasking, and it is expensive, only apple can does this, because the people buy iPad becase it is apple and doesn't because it is good.
And how is the iPad a "bad touch netbook without flash and multitasking"? It was never meant to be a netbook. Don't bash other products just because you haven't used them. I'm not even an Apple fanboy. I've used an iPad, and it's a wonderful experience - far better than my tiny, cramped netbook.
why are they taliking about ipad killer its not designed to do that but it will looks like new laptops to me futuristic ones and the ipad was close to a laptop but needed a few things like keyboard ms word etc etc
Now this is mouth watering!! USB port mean powered USB hubs or just use one USB device, which means full real keyboard, or any other USB device. This thing is unreal. iPad is an appliance, a nice one at that, but this, this is the PC at another level. Do anything greatness, build it Toshiba!!!!
EXCITING! I really like the form factor (size, appearance). I would use this device as a personal digital organizer, internet browser, ebook reader, media player. I like the various keyboard options. I recommend the following: Android OS, Tegra 2 chip, 3G, back & menu button, Stylus support, GPS, 5 megapixel camera w/LED flash on the back. Going with Tegra, the device can eliminate heating issues; the need for a fan, which could reduce the weight and width; and increase battery life.
Nice device - but why is it running windows? An operating system that could leverage the potential of two touchscreens would have been a much better choice. Even Microsoft Courier - which was unfortunately discontinued - had a custom OS.
@pjasnos Windows 7 running Microsoft Security Essentials and MBAM as an adjunct is as "turn it on and it just works" as OS X. It doesn't need a custom OS. You want a different OS run it in a virtual machine or dual boot!! You like OS X hackintosh it! Linux could be customized to take advantage of every feature this machine has also. You probably could get Android running it, Windows 7 and the hardware make customization/functionality endless...I'm sold, sign me up!!

You can't say that the iPad is better than the Libretto!
You cannot compare them, cause the iPad is a "Tablet PC" and the Libretto is a "Laptop"
