I wouldn't say ignorant. Primal Dialga is basically Dialga going berserk and changing the light blue for red or orange in his palette. He was a boss in Mystery Dungeon 2.

darkrai wanted to plunge the world into darkness so he destroyed temporal tower and because of temporal towers collapse, dialga became Primal (dark). if you and your partner didnt stop it from happening the world would end up like it did in the future. Darkrai even says that he targeted temporal tower
