@GlenwoodCorp nop, I rode a ripstick and have these and they are quite differente, on the ripstick you move your feet in vertical pendulum, these you have to move feet horizontal.
@Tiggy2708 I just got mine like five minutes ago, and I have a ripstick, and they are nothing alike. But i like them better, even though I still cant ride.
I just can't get it... I've been practicing for a long time and yet i just can't get to generate momentum. If i had an infinite slope then i could go forever, but on flats i just can't keep going. I ride regular and i don't know which foot should have the weight when I'm trying to swing. I also seem to generate FRICTION instead of momentum when I swing my body. I can turn fine, but I just can't speed up... PLZ HELP!
I am thinking about buying these to ride around campus. After ample practice, of course. My campus is a lot of uneven pavement, brick, and black top. How is the ride-ability on rough terrain?
Was in a subway in toronto and saw some guy holding some of these things but i thought it was some power tools. He put them on the ground and I couldnt see him. Then I watched him skate away. My mind way blown. Took me a whole hour of resarch to figure out what these were. I searched cut in half ripstick cause thats what i thought they were lol.
Hi I want to buy a pair of freeline's but i dont know if i should get the grom's or the OG's i want to get the groms cause they're cheaper, but if theres a superior difference the puts a positive impact on riding then i'll get the OG's.
I bought these today from a friend (his uncle sells them), as soon as I got home I started practicing.
At first I could barely move 10 centemetres and balance for barely 10 seconds.
Now, I can balance and go all the way along the path at the front of my house, and sort of do the movement (in, out) with my feet.
A few of my friends can ride them and a few others are learning. Once we can all ride we will make a YouTube account and upload videos of us riding, doing tricks.
@alexdb95 I can do the movement completely now, and as long as the path is reasonably flat and smooth i can just keep going. I can go uphill kind of, I can do the back stomp.. We have the YouTube channel up now, at the moment its only videos of my friends from ages ago but we will probably be uploading videos of us all this week :) check it out "FreelineAUS"
@GovVision They take time to get down, you just have to pace yourself and realize that it's not going to happen on the first try. Check out some of the other Instructional vids on our page

Dude, they look sick, but I am 13 I don't have 120 dollars to spend on them and my parents will kill me if I even ask them for them. So is there any way to make them? They don't look THAT hard to make.
@WeThEgReEnPeOpLe I actually made a pair of them myself out of old roller blades that had a metal frame for the wheels, two 8th inch steel plates, some bolts and rivits, and griptape. :D
And they work amazing! I made them for probably 20-50 dollars. ^_^
so it's possible! Just alot of hard work, measuring, and cutting and stuff. : P
@semajkecyr to be honest in my opinion these are not cool. idc about the motion, the design looks stupid. i scooter and bike those r cool in my area. rollerblades r gay, skateboarders r pussys, and I never seen anyone riding this shit in the video. Screw seeing it,,,.. I never heard of this before today lol
@MuZiCL0VA2009 I mainly like it because of the fact no one has ever heard or seen these before. XD I like doing new things to grab people attention you know?
and Honestly, I mainly like it cause it's alot like surfing and snowboarding (two things that I can't quite do very often) so yea. : P
so what kinda biking do you do? do you do any racing? If so, that's freakin sweet! :D
@semajkecyr I bmx not like pro bmxing I just do fun stuff with my friends. bunny hopping up 5 stairs lol. I got a GT bike with over $500 of mods on it.
I just learned myself and it is quite easy to just learn both gofy and normal, at the same time, you just do it alternating when you practice first one ride gofy then one ride normal and so on.

Freeline skates are amazing. They took me about three weeks to ride really good but honestly they are so worth it. I ride down hills now and turn heads. Seriouly buy them. Freeline GROM is one that I have. they are wood but made by the same people
FYI I got a pair 3 days ago and I've been able to go up a very gentle slope, which isn't so bad. It seems my balance sucks though, so I find it difficult to get going on bad terrain (e.g. the pavements of Dublin) without tripping off the skates, so I look pretty dumb.
time is exactly what it takes. I had the same problem. Certain places I rode well but on bad terrain I felt like I took a huge step back. But in time it's all the same(although smooth is just so much more fun)
Well, I called a few skate shops here and most had no idea what they are, so I got them on eBay... not too cheap either - about €110 including shipping from the UK.
If you're in the USA it should be easier to get them though...
It's really not that hard. Once you have the motion down with your feet, it's all about cranking your hips for momentum. Comfort on the skates = uphill with ease.
No. It's coming from the guy who's married to a real live (and pliable woman thanks to yoga) and not some jag off like you who thinks this fucking lame "sport" will ever catch on with anyone other than tiny dicked losers who need the fucking attention. You know. In case you were wondering.
@drboogersnot Don't knock the "sport" cuz you are closed minded. If you're not up for a new challenge don't bag on guys who aren't afraid to test themselves
Hey speaking of Drift Skates, how are those? I actually have the official FLS, because I saw them new for $70 at a swap meet, but I know those cheaper $40 drift skates exist on ebay. How do they feel? Are they safe? I mean, considering they're made in china and all.
The in and out motion and pushing off the wall reminds me of learning how to skate backwards. Once you get the rhythm though, you wonder why it was so painfully hard for you get moving going backwards when you started off.
180faky, practice! It's all about the movement. It's the same motion you use going slow. With more time on the skates it just comes naturally, and you begin to get more speed. Keep it up!
