It is a science only based system ... so aspects of defense are also decided in that way. What makes the most sense. If North America were a technate... probably no one would mess with it. Also the Russians with around 32% of the world resource base could do it and ally with a North American one.

The Price System does what it does to maintain itself. It will not be politicians or religious people that will insist on a different social structure like a technate. Political system invented religious system. Political system is contract society of obeying rules. Rules based on maintaining the status quo stop social change. Corporations set price, enforce contracts, and maintain 'civil'.. society. As purchasing power is destroyed social change happens. That which ceases to function ceases.
