  • RIP John, Mitch and of course...Jimi Hendrix.

  • ? can i ask, being very stupid, if this is john lennon and the jimi hendrix band, where is jimi hendrix? sorry, i think i'm being an idiot :)

  • kick ass rythym section!!!!

  • Music Living Legends !!!

    John is the greatest !

    ROCK N ROLL

    John

  • ahey bin so einsam jemand evtl lust zu camen oder schreibn

  • two things:

the host sounds like he was high in the recording...

and can anyone picture a three guitar duel between Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix and John Lennon? pure magic!

  • @DroBONILLA1 He probably was?

  • probably

  • Simply fantastic video

    ROCK N ROLL GUYS!!!!!!

  • YOUR A BLUES JOHN! YOUR A BLUES!

  • Amazingg, R.I.P. John and Mitchh.

  • john is soo high lol

  • Its not the Jimi Hendrix band! Its from the Rolling Stones RnR Circus! The Dirty Mac!

  • uh, that's Mick Jagger

  • kool clip

  • Haha. I absolutely love how he calls John "Winston" at the beginning.

But who is that talking to John at the beginning? It almost looks like Jim Morrison, but doesn't sound like him. Maybe one of the Stones? Certainly not Clapton.

That being said, I've always loved this song. It's so bluesy, it just sounds sweet.

  • dude i is mike jagger

"your own soul brother keith richards (guitarist of the stones"

and in the end he calls him mike..

  • There we go. I couldn't think of the damn name. XD

"Those were the days. I want to hold your 'man.'"

    lol

  • ure mick jagger and im ure wife freddie mercury shut the hell up

  • what?

  • did he say that was clapton

  • Wow, looking at the interview between John and Mick, you can see the admiration that Mick had for John, awesome :)

  • wow i didnt think that would be on itunes! but it is and thanks to the advert i just bought it! woo gonna listen to it all the time now :D

and usually i hate those things lol!

  • Amazing..cool clip!!

  • Not actually the Jimi Hendrix Band. Mitch Mitchell is the drummer from Hendrix. The others are Clapton and Keith Richards. I actually had a drink with Mitch years ago in West Palm Beach and he jammed on my drum set. Needless to say I was honored.

  • what drum set did u have?

  • I had and still have a 1972 Ludwig natural maple set. I also have an unbelievable DW set that was featured at the NAMM show a few years ago.

  • Yea it's a Beatles song...Off the white albumn

  • is this a beatles song?

  • Why didnt John play with Jimi once? Or did he?

  • WHEN IS THIS FROM?

  • ROCK & ROLL CIRCUS

  • OH MAN THEY SHREDDED!

  • They look blazed as F uCK

  • This is the best supergroup ever!

  • No kidding man!! Awesome!!!

  • More drugs in that room than all of Columbia. Ed

  • why jimi hendrix band?

it's john lennon from the beatles on lead vocals and rythm guitar.

eric clapton formerly of cream who disbanded about a month earlier on lead guitar.

keith richards of the rolling stones switched from his lead guitar position in the stones to bass for this song.

and yes, the drummer is mitch mitchell from the jimi hendrix experience, who broke up about 4 months after this.

  • my god what a line up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah, and how much talent on one stage (and beside it, i mean other bands at the circus where for sure the stones, the who, jethro tull(there's something very special about jethro tull here, it's the only gig toni iommi, later of black sabbath played with them, he left earth(early sabbath), for tull but about 4 weeks later he left tull and returned to sabbath, luckily, or there wouldn't be heavy metal).).

  • I listened to a great deal of The Beatles. but I never realized how great Lennon's voice is. I always thought it was good, but it's fantastic!

  • where is jimmy??? stu`pid n00b

  • Claptons coked out as fuck

  • wow!! never saw this before!*****

  • estupid yoko

  • i'm not talking about his music at the time when i say "he's English" Im talking about his actual performance...and why do u call a guitarist better than another, it's about the music, some people play differently and are more technical, but never better

  • Thats the Dirty macs playing.

  • and one more thing to add.... wow John looks like such a fool.. but if you saw him anywhere or saw a picture of him... you know who it is.

  • John didn't take himself too seriously, yet I disagree that he looked foolish. He wrote that song and was obviously leading this little pickup band comprised of himself, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, & Mitch Mitchell. Each and every one a legendary figure, and they respected him, so why don't you?

  • I never said I dont respect him or his music, I just find that he could have dressed and looked abit better.

  • It was a long time ago. Styles were different, and people had more freedom to dress or appear any way they wanted to, especially Lennon. Actually, he was the one setting the styles, such as wearing wire rim glasses became popular when he starting wearing them.

  • y is that relevant?

  • Lol

  • When you are that talented and you are playing with eric clapton and keith richards and the rest of the crew you can dress however the fuck you want. He was there to play music not get dressed up, and I'm sure not one person in the audience would have cared if he showed up in a damn tutu, he rocked the house.

  • lol I am getting - casue I said he looked like crap. this is retarded, learn to read. If you dont agree then you must all be retarded.

  • tho it would have been slightly more awesome if he wore a tutu

  • i believe that he was the one that was being looked up to by the other three.

  • LOL "dirty"

  • FANTASTIC VIDEO!

  • JOHNNY LENNON!

  • His name is Mitch Mitchell not Joni

  • Sorry friend, but is meeting between john lennon, Eric Clapton, Keith Rchards and Joni Mitchell drummer of the Jimi Hendrix Experience.A reunion dome of the rock and roll!Yeeaahh!!!!!

  • p.s this isnt a hendrix band, it's a collaboration of artists from the 4 biggest acts in the 60s (Beatles, Jimi hendrix, Cream, Rolling stones)

  • This is fucking epic. thats all i have to say

  • Clapton isnt boring, he's English at best....Hendrix himself idolised Clapton, and Clapton idolised Hendrix...you can't go past that fact

  • English at best...no, early Clapton was great, but now, there are much better. Jimmy Page easily surpassed Clapton in guitar around 1969

  • Clapton hasn't changed: disciplined, unspectacular and ultimtely boring

    ha hahahhah!! true!!!

  • What the fuck was going on in the beginning?

That other guy looked like he took some XTC.

  • "That other guy" is Mick Jagger and he's definitely not on xtc...

  • i want his glasses

  • omg omg that guy is using the bass I play

  • You should change the title. This is completely wrong, Jimi Hendrix wasn't even there.

    eric clapton

    kith richards y lennon

jagger lo deja mas que claro

  • Tight!!

  • blue for blues n it

  • Yer 'Super' Blues from the Rolling Stone's Circus.

    RiP Mitch

  • the only person here form the "Jimi Hendrix Band" as you called it, is Mitch Mitchell the drummer.

  • yer blues. the beatles, white album.

  • grasias

  • Oh No! John was a close talker. HaHaHA none of these guys can keep their jaws from movin' all around. "hey Clapton take this and put it under your tung mate."

  • hahahahahaha.

that introduction was one of the funniest things i've ever seen.

  • were was it filmed l/v seen this place before

  • I UV CLAPTON's SOLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No offense, but it's even funnier how Jeff Beck made ALL of them feel nervous....Bella, I saw that same show and Jethro(Ian) was still lookin like AQUALUNG himself.and oh well....Anyway, they WERE young.,and there was no one better.

  • so funny how Lennon can make superstar legends like Richards and Clapton look like nervous amateurs.

  • i cant see it personally.

  • Not so much nervousness as jelousy I think

  • Rolling stone circus ? movie i saw this jethro tull yoko all these people in it too

  • what is the name of this music and group ????

  • the dirty mac, one time show...song: Yer Blues made famous by the Beatles.

  • mitch looks so young here

  • nice amps! i luv clapton, this is the best team of musicians ever!

  • Yer Blues John, Yer Blues... LOL!

  • That's not the Jimi Hendrix's band, but John Lehnon, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Mitch Mitchel, I think.

  • correct, Jimi Hendrix's band would obviously have Jimi in it and either noel redding or buddy miles.

  • Yeap. For sure.

  • Yeah,

You need to change the title, although I guess ABKCO (Allen Decline) would come after you!

No disrespect to Jimi but if this was anybody's "band" it would be "The John Lennon band featuring Eric Clapton with..."

  • This isn't the jimi hendrix band. It's Dirty Mac and Mitch Mitchell is the only one in that band.

  • Lennon looks like he wants to slap Mick in the beginning. He kinda thought he was a wanker.

  • Sinatra entertainer of the 40's, Elvis entertainer of the 50's, Beatles band of the 60's, Led Zep band of the 70's, Michael Jackson entertainer of the 80's, Garth Brookes entertainer of the 90's. Beatles most successful and influential. Stones deserve title greatest rock n roll band. The Who greatest live band. Led Zep the most popular. My personal favorite is The Who.

  • how the hell did garth brookes get in that list??!!!!!!

i think there are plenty of more woirthy people than him!!!

  • how on earth did garth brookes get in the list?? !!!

there are plenty of people more worthy than him!!

and thats stupidi didnt catch that, good grief its all these seventies bands"why did Journey get in there hehehe"*dodges tomatoes*

Well the list is good, basicaly the quintessential seventies group of sheer brilliance

  • bunch of English kids with rhythm!! Ha!

  • Dirty Mac!

  • Clapton's getting cotton-mouth, he's high.

  • this is going to sound stupid but does that mean his mouth is dry?

  • doesnt matter hes still playing amazing. hes the shit, probably the best guitarist alive right now

  • thats not the jimi hendrix band, man

  • your blues john.....your blues john.....your blues john.....lol

  • that would be jimi hendrix's drummer, keith richards, and eric clapton. you dumb shit. awesome though.

  • Wow. That was super! I am very familiar with all of the groups each member was from but this is the first I have heard they were together. Where can I find out more? Thanks for posting!

  • Pick up the video The Rolling Stones Rock And Roll Circus, or search for clips of it here on YT.

  • This is Dirty ! Not the Hendrix Band !

  • this is not the god damned jimi hendrix band.

  • you know the reason why

  • I always wanted to see that. Thanks

  • Yeh Eric Clapton and Keith Richards weren't in Hendrix's band, so why is this titled John Leneon and Jimi Hendrix band? Whoever posted this is an idiot.

  • yup

  • who are the people with yellow blankets at the end of video??

  • i'm sure a bunch of other people have already said this as well... but why does it say john lennon and the jimi hendrix band?? the only guy here that was with hendrix is mitch....

  • you know the reason why.

  • uh no i don't

  • 3:57 - 3:58 \m/

  • who was michael?

  • You're KIDDING, right??? GEEEZUS....it's Mick Jagger, boys and girls. (yikes~jkatt-thigh) For the record, this isn't "the Jimi Hendrix Band," it's Mitch Mitchell on drums, Eric Clapton on guitar, and Keith Richards on bass, collectively known for this gig only ("The Rolling Stones Rock & Roll Circus," filmed for BBC in December 1968, exactly 40 years ago) as The Dirty Mac. Go buy the DVD, see early Jethro Tull, Taj Mahal, The Who, and more. Seriously great stuff.

  • RIP Mitch.

  • there called the dirty mac

not john lennon and the jimi hendrix band the drummer is from jimi hendri's backing group lol

  • Just watching this video, and I'm wondering, is it me, or has music taken a huge step backwards and just stayed there?

  • From after the 60s/70s/80s that is. I mean, this stuff is classic, what the hell happened to music now?

  • 90s too had some good stuff

  • The 90s had 2 marginally good bands. Collective Soul & Stone Temple Pilots. They were both OK, but even these acts could not hold a candle, so to speak , to any of the late 60s, early 70s acts.

  • well sure i like them but nirvana is good too and alice in chains and the whole grunge thing was good after i listened to the likes of pink floyd and the doors i listened to grunge but i agree the psychelic era was awesome

  • Yes, Nirvana was good. All those 90s bands were pretty good, but I guess my generation was very lucky, our bands were great. I mean who can hold a candle to Hendrix, Joplin, Morrison, Lennon, Keith Moon and others. I think most people that were born in this time would not trade 10 extra years in their lives to lives without having the experiece we went through.

  • no doubt it was one of the most original times ever and you can pretty much thank Albert Hoffman for them because lsd inspired so many of those people, i think also it was time for people to be inspired and it is hard to find that kind of inspiration today.

  • Ya, we can thank a lot of people, like Dustin Hoffman too. We can also thank Ed Sullivan, the promoters of Woodstock '69, Jack Kennedy, but most of all..The Beatles.

I think the only way to have something even remotly close to those days is for kids today be stripped of their cell phone, ipods, blackberries and put on an even scale as everyone else. This would of course require a severe recession or even depression. Then, there is the 2 dreaded words the would all fear: THE DRAFT.

  • the 60's had some pretty cool stuff but in the new millenium we have ipods, cellphones, xbox's, gameboys and computers and that is what all the youth are in to now. I don't even listen to any music from the new millenium though except maybe coldplay and i used to listen the likes of the killers and billy talent a while ago

  • Coldplay is good, but not really rock and roll. I also like, but not love, Barenaked ladies, G Love and Rob Thomas, but all these acts are just a fix for what we really were used too... off the wall musicians

  • Ya coldplay was good actually their new album kind of bombs its called viva la vida its weak thats all i can say but x & y was great very floydish i'd say, if the candle has been passed on it was to nirvana and even their dead but the music lives on and continues to inspire.

  • Floydish? Umm, dont think so! LOL, No one can every be even close to Floyd, except the Austrailian Pink Floyd show, which were very decent

  • meh don't knock it till you try it, and i didn't say they sound exactly like pink floyd

  • neurochris nirvana was good but in seattle there were more great bands I mean nirvana was great, but in seattle at that time there was a lot of good bands like Screaming Trees, Love Battery, Mudhoney that did not have the luck as Nirvana.

  • you are neurochris we had similar influences and i think the 60' were the best but as a part of my generation grunge was awesome, and the most that i like most of the seattle bands are heavy influenced by the 60's movement plus other influences like punk and some classic heavy metal bands. and for you i recomende Screaming Trees listen to them they were a great band like the other ones like Pearl Jam, Alice in chains and Soundgarden.

  • You are so right.

  • If you're not impressed by this band, you'll never be by anything anymore...Gooosh!!!!

  • TELL'EM ALL ABOUT IT JOHN !!

  • Lennon Is Christ.

  • What a great line up. One of the greatest performances I've ever seen

  • The Jimi Hendrix Band? LOL! This super-group was called The Dirty Mac.

  • almost at 100,00 ;)

  • How can you not be in love with John Lennon, before, after, or while you watch this video?

    You can't :D

  • Lennon has a great voice, Clapton is the man on the guitar, Richards is a good bassist and Mitchell is always good on the drums. The Ultimate group!

  • wow this is amazing! awesome post ;)

  • Mitch Mitchell was English. Born 9 July 1947 in Ealing, Middlesex. You must be thinking of someone else.

  • Yeap he is

  • y is it that that guy, is it mitch mitchell, sounds like hes starting to get a british accent even though he's american lol

  • atmosfericamente increible !!!

  • jimi hendrix band??

mitch mitchell - the jimi hendrix experience

    eric clapton - cream

    keith richards - rolling stones

    john lennon - the beatles

this video is from rock and roll circus

    :)

  • maybe im sound stupid but i forgott the name of the song,

  • Hey, the name of the song is: Yer Blues... One of my favourites songs of the beatles... this song appeared on the beatles "With Album". Good Bye

  • is the drummer here mitch mitchell?

  • The jimi hendrix band and john lennon? Keith Richards and Eric Clapton?

  • jimi died on september 18, 1970. this show happened on december 11, 1968.

  • stupid arrogant jagger. maybe i'm a goon.. godbless.

  • this video is not titled correctly, it's just a supergroup for one night only.. clapton, richards, lennon, mitchell.

to the person below who said hendrix was dead at this time, this is from December 1968 so he was very much alive at that point.

  • why this is the most brilliant thing ever

  • Don't get me wrong.. I love John Lennon as much as the next guy, but where was Hendrix??!?

  • Not at this stage, He was still alive and kicking.

  • that is the ultimate thing

  • Jimi?...JIMI!?! JIMI WHERE ARE YOU?!?... what is happening here?!? I feel betrayed. In a sort of happy way. Like I've been tricked into having an orgy of some kind you know? I just don't know how to feel about this, but I think I got off.
