"Ich Jascha Heifetz aus Petersburg, spielte bei Herrn Block, Grunewald, Gavotte von Mozart-Auer am vierten November neunzehnhundertzehn" (4. 11. 1910!).
@miceskin - DAMN, I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT, HMMM, LOOK, PLEASE PRAISE ON, IF SOMEONE REPLIES THAT YOU ARE STUPID, YOU CAN ALWAYS DELETE YOUR POST AND MAKE THEM FEEL EVEN STUPIDER - LOOK, TRUST ME ON THIS, I KNOW STUPID INSIDE AND OUT.
Come On! This sound is JH at his very best, probably recorded when he was between 30 and 50. Just listen to JH's recordings when he was around 17. They don't sound nearly as good as the sound here.
Even at 11 he sounds almost too sure of himself to be believed. He speaks German at the end, I'm pretty certain he names what he just played, and that it was an Auer transcription.
At that young age he already had all the equipment he needed for greatness and mastery. It brings to mind the 4-year-old Sarah Chang, who also had an immense musical and violinistic maturity at that age.
If he only knew back then what he would become i dont think he'd have believed it himself.... He upset every other Fiddle player in the world when he went directly to the top of the Tree and with Gods blessing may he remain there for all Eternity because he deserves it.....
The boy is speaking German with a Russian accent. As far as I got it, he says "Jascha Heifetz aus Petersburg spielte bei Herrn Block, Grunewald, Gavotte von Mozart-Auer am ?. November 19??." The question marks indicate the words I did not understand properly.
"Many thanks to Ward Marston for allowing us to enjoy these treasures from almost two century ago."
Wow! You must have found a time machine. Where I live it's only been a century since this recording was made. BTW, it's German that he's speaking.

At the age of 11 Heifetz played better than Auer.

The year the German speaking woman (and not Heifetz, who had a somewhat lower voice) mentions is 1916 ("Neunzehnhundertsechzehn").
