  • The Look Like "Triplets" now...........Girls still got it!!

  • This people, is true talent!

  • @AntiSemantic1 It sure is....I was lucky enough to see them in a club outside of Reno, Nevada about 15 years ago doing this exact routine. Fabulous!

  • I got to know Dorthy back in 2001 and believe it or not I sang with her at a Christmas Party In Tucson Arizona. Her husband Lowe and son own Fairfield Homes here in Tucson and I worked for them for 4 years. And they actually live part time at one of the homes I built in one of the FairField Home jobsites...She is a wonderful Lady.

  • Class!! : D

  • What a class act? Really, what about the fact that that one of them had an affair with a gangster, yep that's right, she screwed him on the regular.

  • @TheSalami123 So? .. what's wrong with people having sex?

  • They come from the days when you had to have talent and your voice wasn't enhanced by computers to sound like you can sing. Also from a time when making noises, being almost completely naked, stoned or drunk and every other word wasn't baby, didn't exist and what you looked like didn't matter.

  • What a class acrt

  • @jkeating912 Youtube is full of idiots!

  • @benadmin yeah, including people who like to write randomly to anybody they see.

  • @jkeating912 Youtube is the home of the stupid!!!

  • Powerful music performed in exquisite harmony ~ Oh the fond memories to cherish~!

  • this series of clips (other groups too) is one of the most annoying and fake things on youtube. it's obvious the audience is not applauding continually in reality. They're already applauding and you hear them "START" to applaud during!!! it sounds like continual applause with someone simply controlling the volume, instead of an audience actually starting and finishing to applaud. Number of claps should vary, not just the volume.

    And this certainly isn't 2004.

  • @wattever333 GET REAL! Showbusiness is JUST A FANTASY, an I LLUSION ok? Enjoy it for what it is...Do you think people become "mega stars" on PURE TALENT? ENDLESSS sexual "favors", drugs, alcohol, PAYOLA, and even devil worshipping is "waht it takes" to "make it" so whenever I see a "star" I just try to enjoy their work, and not think of all the hard work, and horrible circumstances they have had to endure for a fistful of money.

  • @rioboy13 wow. my post was the starting point for your angry rant? or maybe you just replied to the wrong comment. all that anger. wow. I don't disagree with what you wrote. I just said the original program from which these clips are taken is not well edited. I'm talking about editing. editing. editing.

  • @rioboy13 What?

  • @wattever333 Man, they know all these songs the ladies are singing, just like I do...

  • what beautiful women...check those figures.....yeah, they ARE still great....

  • holy matching hairdos batman - lovely voices though :)

  • they've still got it.

  • @joeylikeslots Well, dearie, I'm not. However, if The Girls want to have huge plastic surgeries so they look like the Brides of Frankenstein, that's fine, but they know they'll be out there for all to see and "all" can either go oooh and aaahhh, or they can point and giggle. The Sisters have had to know that. I don't care if they have enough surgery so that their ears meet on top of their heads---however, this is America and I can say what I want about whatever I want. Stick to your slot.

  • @joeylikeslots Oh, for heavens sakes, grow UP! I can say whatever I want about them. They had plastic surgery, which is their right....just like it's my right to comment on it. And the world is full of people like YOU who get their underwear in a bundle about other folks' opinions. Leave it alone.....

  • @joeylikeslots Never said I was! Just that it's so obvious that you can't get by anything else. Their voices are still magnificent......too bad they have been caught up in the Eternal Youth quest as so many celebrities have been. PLUS----I am entitled to my opinion...so leave it there, OK?...and stick to your slots.

  • Yo me enamore cuando era joven con las mcguire sisters

  • Holy plastic surgery! Oh, well....at least , they all went to the same surgeon, it looks like. Thank heavens, they didn't tamper with those beautiful vocal chords. Love those wigs---who wouldn't want their hair to look like that?

  • @jekorb Listen to the music.

  • I've been a fan of them since i was little can't believe they came on the scene back in the 50's they llok more like from the 90's McGuires Forever

  • Clearly part of the agreement for the McGuire Sisters to appear on the PBS special was no closeups (no medium shots either). And there are also an unprecedented number of cut-away shots. They want to be remembered by how they looked back when they recorded these hits and that is their right.

  • @CandyKane1

Sorry but I think that is soon vain. Nobody looks super great at there ages but their voices still remain the same. I sure that they are still lovely women.

  • AWESOME!!! When a kid milking cows with my parents and sister in the old milking barn, we listened to the ole radio playing the McGuire Sisters sing Sugartime!! What memories!! They are the BEST ever!!

  • When I first saw the McGuire Sisters on PBS I fell in love right when they started to harmonize! By far my favorite womens group out there!

  • How wonderful!

  • Comment removed

  • we should all look this good--like drag queens--if you must at this age.

hope you look half this good when and if you get there

  • Unbelievable! They must have signed an agreement with the devil. They are 80 years old! Impossible!!!

  • these women are absolutely amazing! they sound as good as they did in their heyday, and they are just simply gorgeous! something has got to be in their genes to have kept them in their beauty...and just look at those figures...wow!

how i loved them when they were america's darlings. and how i miss their music. what a treat.

phyllis, dorothy and christine, thank you for all the memories, and this special gift. you're the best!

  • Hoopppaaaa ... how come thy look the way they look and they didn't get old ... just me ....hmmm... no fair at all :-/

  • When I saw this show, I was in tears watching this segment--my Dad Loved--LOVED these 3 gorgeous ladies, & he never--ever, missed a chance to see them. He also loved Julie London, Barbara McNair, & Kay Starr, as much to look at them as to liten. Jo Stafford was his very favorite, but ohh did this bring back the memories--bittersweet as they are. Especially, Sincerely. Wolfsky9, 64 y/o now.

  • wow, how the heck did hey maintain their figures for so long? they look great!

  • these are the type of older women the younger guys want ! i'd do'em all

  • "Major work"? Do ya think so? I think they're bloody scary!

  • @cemeterydude You should look so good at that age.

  • I enjoyed the wonderful memories!

    ---------Ellen

  • This really bothers me...I did not write the comment about them being drag queens and now wonder how this happened. I say a lot of stupid things but this isn't my comment.

  • Nipped tucked and frightfully scary... I do agree that they have great figures but they also have that drag queen look!!!! So fake.

  • McGuire Sisters

  • They have the drag queen look

  • @handsupbud How Disresepectful thses ladies ar legandar and you should have more respect for these ladies than that.

  • So Beautiful to see these living legends and yet so sad that time passes so quickly Truly one of the best harmony women's groups and classic style

  • Notice that there are no close-ups. Damn they are good.

  • These ladies have nicer figures than I do and I'm 35!

  • One of my favorite songs.

  • The harmony is still tremendous.....let's see how many of today's singers can sound this good when they get to be these ladies ages.

  • PBS played this again recently. thanks for posting it here.

  • Can you believe that close harmony. Simply the best. They do not need musical accompaniment. I do remember seeing them on the Perry Como and Arthur Godfrey shows. It's stirring when they sync-up for Sugartime. ...welllllllll...

  • A really great post, timeless music.. thanks!

  • They still look and sound great!

  • wow, they're 73-78 yo here!

  • Wondering if they make any "special" appearances. Would love to see them. You have to admit, they still "got" it.

  • I had heard a recent interview with Phyllis. She said that her sister Christine lives with her sister Dorothy and her husband in Arizona now. But that they talk on the phone frequently and sing along with each other, and still perform together at family functions. But for the most part they have been retired since the 70s although did an occasional special performance such as this.

  • nice music, but very annoying fake applause track.

  • No worse than on any sitcom on CBS or other networks. Electronic yucks and applause so we great unwashed know when something is funny.

  • Give them a break "Mike6E". You didn't have to include that transvestities BS in your comments. They were in their 70s when this was produced. Wish I could look as good as anyone of them when I reach that age. Hopefully I do reach that age even though at this time I'm not sure I want to.

  • Yes Sam Giancana would have been proud, afterall it`s his doing!

  • This is amazing all of the sisters were in their '70's when this first aired. Christine b.1926, Dorothy b. 1928 and Phyllis b. 1931!!!

  • These gals are the greatest.I hope i look that good when i get their ages

  • I never get sick of seeing this video I think the girls look wonderful and yes Sam would be so proud.......they have figures to die for then and now long may they reign from a lady from England.......

  • Whatever happened to classy beautiful music like this? I love it. Sure beats the vocal hiccups and over synthesized trash of today..

  • Amazing music, and I think they look great and sound great! I hope I sound as good when I'm that age!

  • just amazing,very classy

  • Wow- Christine is now 80, Dorothy is 79 and Phyllis is now 78. Granted, they've had some major work, but wow they can really sing, can't they? And folks, this is MUSIC, no the garbage we have to hear today. Nuff said

  • @seledge I think it should be law that once over 70 you can receive free plastic surgery...I mean c'mon, ya made it that far, you really deserve it!! LOL!!

  • @seledge I second what you say. No garbage at all and I am in my late 20s

  • @seledge AMEN!!!

  • @seledge Amen

  • They sound awesome but it looks like they have done some major work to their faces. :(

  • Sam Giancana would be proud!

  • I don't know how many people got that crack, but I sure did, and as a HUGE fan of the McGuires -- especially Phyllis -- it gave me a good laugh. Thanks.

  • the girls still sound great but it looks like the camera man was given strict orders No close-ups!

  • I'm looking for PBS special that at the very end two men, one black, one white were singing Til Then, if anyone has that could they put it up in its entirety?? I really love it.

  • Brings me back.. I love the Maguire Sisters. They were part of my growing up years, Childrens Holiday was the best

  • Was that really necessary? Maybe so, but BEAUTIFUL trannies!

  • What else is there to say??

    It's the McGuire Sisters!

    Amazing!

  • Wonderful! Old fashioned Class, Elegance, Talent and Beauty.

  • WOW!! I am overwhelmed!! Talent, beauty, grace, class, perfect harmonies, NO LIP SYNCING. A lesson for all of these "singers" posturing on the music scene today...

  • Yes, they are still charming. Amazing!!

  • Still a class act decades larer!
