  • i watched this in dance class before and the teacher said that he does like 10 taps a second!!!

  • Not hard to see why Streisand wanted him for her on stage partner, even back in 2000. Not too many artists on his level.

    Today or ever.

  • Don't need the band.

  • I can't help but think happy feet when I watch this..

  • genius

  • Seemed like a bit of a shout out to good old Gregory Hines :)

Was using the same music but changed the style. I think it was so good. Bit of the old but in a completely new and fantastic way. That man has super feet haha xD

    Love this performance :D

  • I am in love with Savion and the clarity of his taps and how simple e makes the art look. It is simply amazing.

  • My son loves tap and his teachers say he taps so such much natural talent. They said he resembles Mr. Glover in his style. I wish my son could meet him....

  • OMG!!!! He's so talented...tap is not the easiest thing to do!! I wish he could do a master's class at my studio!

  • amazing! i am so jealous of his skills!

  • Bill Robinson lives!

  • I loved this guy from when he tapped on Sesame Street....

  • this man be smiling during every performance, since he started

  • best feet since Gregory Hines and the Nicholas Bros.

  • He is so, so talented!!

  • Mumble's feet!!!

  • Savion is a good dancer, but to him give the title of "The Best Dancer In The World" is

going a bit overboard, a great bit overboard.Tom Bergeron must have read that of a

card written by Savion Glover.Fred Astair,Gene Kelly and Gregory Hines must be turning over in their graves.

  • @henrywho99 he said "Greatest TAP dancer in the world"

  • @henrywho99 How about greatest LIVING tap dancer in the world? I think thats a fair title for him

  • Savion is a good dancer, but to him give the title of "The Best Dancer In The World" is

going a bit overboard, a great bit overboard.Tom Bergeron must have read that of a

    card written by Savion Glover.

  • He is brilliant! Kudos to all his success.

  • Omg i know the blonde backround dancer her name is ashley and she used to b my tap teacher shes amazing and so lucky to b working with a genis like savion glover

  • From the first time I saw him on the movie Taps with Gregory Hines & Sammy Davis Jr., I knew he was a star in the making!! He is truly AMAZING!!

  • Savion Glover is my idol!!!!!! Right nest to Gene Kelly! I want to flap on the tips of my toes!!! i love him!!!

  • That's my cousin!

  • Do you tap also cousin?

  • @Rmasai Yes I sure do. Savion along with my other cousin his brother Abron taught me. Our entire family are musicians and dancers.

  • Well, we ready for you to show case your stuff....and go on tour if you have not already.

  • @Rmasai ha of course, we'll see about that!

  • @Rmasai ha of course, we'll see about that!

  • @Daryeezy mines 2.....no joke.......

  • @Daryeezy rly? that's my cousin too. I guess we're related somehow

  • @Daryeezy I drive a limousine in Las Vegas and I drove your cousin. He was a great guy and we talked about his dancing.

  • wow.that is crazy good

  • Simply genius and yes, i remember sesame street!

  • Freaking genius!!!!

  • Who remember the days when he was on sesame street???!!!

  • doing a workshop with savion in a few weeks!!!! so excited

  • @canucks2015 WHAT??? How?

  • @canucks2015 Lucky!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @canucks2015 You are so luchy!!!!!!!

  • even the smile on his face reminds me of the hoofer legends that mentored him =)

  • Sure. He is good. But he doesn't give us much of a performance. This didn't really excite me. He is more of a musician than a dancer. He doesn't have much of a form or style that makes him very unique at all. He does the samething a lot. I think he is a little overrrated, but maybe I'm crazy.

  • @FlyingSquarePancakes Yeah... You're crazy. Or just missing the point. Of course he is partly a musician! Many great tap dancers are also great percussionists. Fred Astaire for one. The entire show "Stomp" was about that connection.

A form of dance that you don't understand and a dancer that has not only mastered it, but is moving it forward, doesn't equal his being overrated so much as it points to the idea that maybe you should open your mind a bit more to different art forms.

  • @Jayjen35 Yes I know, all tappers are musicians of sorts. I am just into finding a balance between dancer and musician. I guess you could say that is my style. I understand that this is Mr. Glover's style and I appreciate the beauty of it. Don't get me wrong, he is most definitely magnificent :)

  • This guy is amazing and he even had a Gregory Hines tribute starting @2:09-2:22. that section was sampled from Gregory Hine's movie Tap. The street scene when Gregory is getting down with three other guys. It was a really great moive and Savion is so cool for including that piece in his number. RIP Gregory hines!!

  • wow that guys very good!

  • I need to know the name of this track.

  • . . . . this song was written and composed by Gregory Hines . . . Remixed by Mr. Glover . . not available . . . maybe one day.

  • . . . you can hear Gregory Hines dancing to this original track . . . Gregory Hines at the Sammy Davis tribute (Apollo) clip.

  • Awesome tap dancer.

    But nothing beats Michael Flatley.

  • Savion Glover is truly Rythem in motion. He don't really need music ... he's able to make you feel the rythem coming straight from his soul ... from the heels of his feet and 'round to the front of his toes! To me, like Mr. Fred Astire, Savion was put here to dance!

  • Braden

  • yeah ashely the white one are studio owener from Braden Bibel

  • Anybody know what that music cut is?

  • This is so refreshing to see...just pure dancing. And throughout the performance you can see the joy in Savion's face. That's what dance is all about.

  • the host at the beginning is so annoying, but Savion is amazing, i love the way he starts the dance with no music, the way he communicates dance with lights/set/costume is great

  • Tom Virgeron is the shit, man. But, so is Savion.

  • cannot wait till 17 june!!!!

  • Savion Glover is a genius. He is regarded as the greatest tap dancer alive by all the greats that you know, Dr Whiggs, for their grace. He chooses to experiment with the form, not just to do what he already knows he can do, and what people already expect tap to be. This particular style may not be your cup of tea, but Glover can do it all -- and does. He's an artist who pushes what is expected from and in the art of tap, like it or not. Before you ass judgment, see what else he does with it.

  • @Provenz I guess it's just me, then.

  • it's most certainly just you.

  • @Provenz Been away (too!) long from the US now, but my idol in tap dancing was Gregory Hines (whose unpublished tapes I'm trying, the little I can, to raise awareness about, to have released). What you are saying, reminds me of G Hines genius - their scope. Can see here, that Savion G really learnt well from his teacher, G Hines. Do you, and do all the "greats" you are referring to, see him being on the same 'level' as G Hines? That he can 'surpass' him even? As every next legend should...

  • impresionant

  • That is true talent. i was at a competition studio most my life until just last fall i went to college and now am working with a tapper who has traveled and worked with savion. It feel like a better tapper now than i ever was. this is where tap all came from. and this style is more fun and so much better

  • @DrWhiggs No, but you can take it that he has taken a style that has been around for several generations and brought it to a lot of people who would have never known about it, has taught many many students this incredible form of dance, passing on what he's learned from Greogry Hines and Sammie Davis Jr. etc etc etc.

Sorry, but this dance form is more than Fred Astair, and the latest line on Broadway, as great as he was and they are.

  • HAPPY FEET!

  • @MyLittleYTChannel He actually choreographed some of the moves in Happy Feet.

  • This first time i saw him was on "Tap" with Gregory Hines & Sammy Davis Jnr...awesome movie showing some of the greatest tappers...i have the movie on DVD. ...I don't tap myself but i love watching & listening to those shoes...awesome sound. I also recognised some of the tap moves from the movie "Tap"...Savion ROCKS...cheers from NZ :)

  • I remember him from Sesame Street....aaahhh, good times.

  • my teacher is dancing with Savion on the right side of him they are all great performers!!! Savion is amazing, get'em marshall!!

  • (2:10) Classic Gregory Hines

  • omggee hes aamazing ..im going to steel his tap shoes! :)) love you savion

  • Now that the great are dead, may be he is the best now!!!

  • this guy is amazing. but let's be honest, tom bergeron is an american hero. thank you, tom.

  • he is my dance idol

  • amazing

  • LMAO i HAd sTOry BOuT THiiS GUy iN My DiAGNOSTiC....s0 i SEARCHED HiM uP

  • Awesome!!!!!

  • This Guy taps at warp speed! Savion, let the taps tap and tell the music to chill.

  • omg i get to do a wrokshop with him!! so excited. he's totally amazing. his tapping is sick

  • what workshop do

    u go to where

    he teaches??

  • Thanks...now I know what DVD to buy...

  • i like how he busted out some gregory at 2:08.

  • I know....actually...in a way it was the best part

  • also this song was Gregory's favorite song to dance too..if you look it up...it's in a LOT of his tap videos during speical events

  • What IS this piece of music?

  • The music was kind of distracting. But Glover's talent is undeniable. He's THE authority on the artform fo tap dancing. I think he was even in a movie with Sammie Davis Jr. and Gregory Hines as a child.

  • yep it was called "Tap" great movie

  • I was completely mesmerised by this talent I wasn't crazy about the music but I could watch him ALL day!!!

  • i don't think the audience even understood what they were watching. he is simply the greatest tapper ever. i hope my daughter gets to tap with him some day. she loves to tap.

  • do me a favor. type this into the search window on youtube "Challenge - Gregory Hines , Sammy Davis and ( Legendary Tap Dance Veterans )" U might of saw this but if u didn't, watch it. It's amaze'n!!!

  • Savion is sooo amazing. I have taken classes from him and it is just one of the best experiences to have. The blonde tapper in the back was one of my teachers that i took from growing, too.

  • my fav part of savion glover. The best tapper n the world
