  • @slipp3rysnake No problem man. I have the link somewhere with the schedule. It should be up on TCM's website for the June though.

  • This was when cable TV was fun! Nowadays it's nothing more than garbage. I'm glad I don't have cable.

  • I remember a long time ago, ages it seems. As the new year came around the corner my family and I would sit down on Sunday and watch Godzilla all day on TNT. My brother and I would act out the monster fights and cheer every time Godzilla came on screen, Mom would make popcorn, and Dad would make fun of the plot. Good times...good times. We were so sad when TNT stopped doing monstervision, bring it back!

  • Why oh why doesn't TNT hold this event anymore!?...and the sad part is, I was too young to even remember Monster Vision :'-(

  • back when TNT was worth watching. Oh the memories.

  • Back when Tv was fun.....

  • Someday when I become President, all TV networks & channels will look like this. I will make Joe Bob Briggs the head of the FCC. CGI effects will be banned. Movie re-makes will only be allowed by a 9/10 majority vote of all the citizens. Halloween will become the National Holiday. Godzilla's image will be added to the monument on Mount Rushmore. Horror movie actors will replace Presidents on our currency. Vote for me!

  • TOHO Would stop you when it comes to Mount Rushmore...

  • @SBDF88 not if he gets permission and pays royalties

  • @SBDF88 just like that subway commercial

  • @SBDF88 Sad, but true. However, I wish TNT was like this still.

  • @SBDF88 Unless if they let that kid do it with there permission then that would be possible

  • @wrght9185 you have my vote!

  • @wrght9185 You've got my vote!!!

  • @wrght9185 you have my vote!

  • @wrght9185 he gets my vote vote wrght9185

  • @wrght9185 You sir, have definatley got my vote.

  • @wrght9185 We need CGI effects. Banning them is ludicrous and made of fail, sorry bro.

  • @PurityOfEvil24 I have forwarded your comment to the Department of Filmland Security. Your user name will now be added to the Watch List.

  • @wrght9185 That actually made me lol. Just sayin' we need a nice mix of it in movies, not overdone.

  • @wrght9185 i would vote for ya

  • @wrght9185 Can we vote now? How 'bout now? Can we vote yet? Huh? Huh? How about now? I say we vote now! And I say, because you know how very, very important my vote is, that wrght9185 is the one and only candidate that could, would make the ultimate difference in the world today.... wait... what are we voting on again?

  • @wrght9185: Who should be on the dollar bill: Karloff or Lugosi? Congress would fight forever over that one!

  • @DChatc Umm...actually I was kind of thinking of Ingrid Pitt and Caroline Munro. Ha ha! Barbara Steele!

  • @wrght9185 Godzilla's head will probably be the first on Mt. Rushmore to actually be scaled DOWN from the origional... lol

  • @wrght9185 you're my new favorite person

  • @wrght9185

    I'm still waiting....

  • @wrght9185 hell yah

  • So ... alot of others still have all the VCR tapes we recorded in the early 90's lol. I'm only 21 man, but tv has changed so much. Wish they still put this on for kids and adults to enjoy together. Was so much fun.

  • @Fragile0Still You can enjoy them ALL now, on your 50-inch plasma, DVD and blue ray, in widescreen, and choice of language! We have it all now, in century 21!

  • @Beamshipcaptain it's not the same as having it on TV. Just not the same.

  • Holy crap! I watched this marathon back in 93! Even got up early enough to watch the classic Hannah Barbara Godzilla cartoons that were aired before the movies! F'n awesome upload!

  • he feels no emotions

    WTF?

  • I had all the godzilla's recorded from this time, I still watch them whenever I want to see the cool Godzilla

  • best version of the godzilla song ever.

  • I remember seeing this as a kid. My grandma had recorded one of the movies with a VCR (Godzilla's Revenge) and I grew up watching it with these promos and commercial breaks. So nostalgic. I love Godzilla.

  • Most of the Godzilla movies are on dvd!

  • I have every single Godzilla and most TOHO sci fi on DVD, that I either recorded onvhs back in the day, or bought ohn VHS, or DVD. Lately all the classics and more have been put on DVD! Many happy weekends watching GODZILLA and TOHO and other Japense science fiction, which I just love, and inspired directors like George Lucas, Steve Spielberg, and James Cameron.

  • i have all the godzilla movies and commercials that aired during this marathon! Its so awsome. gotta love old-school TNT!

  • TNT Drama channel? Heh, now it's more like a channel that appeals to old codgers in the nursing home. I'm sick of shows aimed at codgers. I like monsters so much better.

  • I have this ob tape

  • Man, this makes me want to watch godzilla again. I would take a sick day from work if they brought this back even for 1 night on tv.

The Good old days, When the Godzilla Classics were played.

Now they just play that Crappy 1998 wannabe film if that from any G-film,

  • This was back in the 80s and 90s, when TNT was great. They had marathon showings of the 1960s THE OUTER LIMITS on Friday and Satureday nights.

  • @Beamshipcaptain

The particular promo was from New Years Eve 1994 / New Years Day 1995.

TNT also did the same thing the next year as well - I was sick as a dog and this is what pulled me through.

  • Nothing like suitmation and miniatures filmed with lots of light and high-speed cameras. I Love these Japanese Tokusatsu and kaiju-eiga movies all my life.

  • there's just something about these monsters that make them look alive unlike those stupid ones we see now. The new ones are computer generated.

  • Man, I remember watching this!!! What a great channel back then. What the hell happened to television programming? I remember after Monstervision was cancelled that was the lsst I have watched T.N.T..

  • Man, they killed TV

  • T.N.T was great in the day, but in 2001 they killed it with their drama crap.

  • @Gatman720 Agreed. Turner dug his own grave by selling WCW, Nitro and Thunder made him the big bucks and brought in ratings.

  • Ahh the good ol days I was6 years old when my dad taped this on New Years. Been a fan ever since thanks dad

  • TNT. WE KNOW CRAP!

  • Theres always a new generation of kids. And these classic movies should be on tv. Little kids will always watch these, better than most of the crap on tv anyway.

  • ya know the song godzilla by blue oyster cult tnt's monstervision was the first time i had ever heard that song back in 1995 and i didn't find out that blue oyster cult was the band who sang the song until i found it on youtube in 2007 drove me nuts all these years wanting to know who made that great song ridiculous huh?.

  • HOLY SHIT. I remember this. I taped it. I still have the tapes somewhere.

  • even though i could get all the movies, i simply want THIS downloaded on my pc....

  • i remember those days. those were the good old days when i was little. but i own all the movies, and there on dvd except for three. but i still have the vhs versions of some of them.

  • *sigh* those were the days

  • I watched it when I was a kid. I have it on tape too!!! I miss when tnt when they used to have monster vision.

  • i have all the godzilla movies from this marathon taped on vhs intact with all commercial and promos! good times!

  • i would seriously pay for those.

  • so -the first night they didn't show any godzilla movies? what did they mean by giant mutants? war of the gargantuas and frankenstein conquers the world?

  • God i miss the old days.

  • it's definately no the same without it. thanks for posting

  • Bring it back!!

  • Thank you so much for this, I thought the only available copy left was my old VHS Dub.

  • Yes, but without Joe Bob Briggs it just wouldnt be the same. Just like terminator without Arnold S.

  • I MISS THIS WISH THEYED BRING IT BACK

  • godzillaondvd . com

  • T.N.T

  • Just like old times ah!

  • TNT MONSTERVISION .

WE know Horror and sci-fi and cult classic.

  • I'm with you.

  • Comment removed

  • FUCK YOU TED TURNER

  • I would have to agree to that statement!

  • Man, this was when cable TV was fun. TNT(and TBS and WGN were all "retro" in the mid-90's. That ended about, 1999 or so when Time Warner/Aol bought/merged with Turner Networks-thanks to some de-regulations in the commincations industry. Convinced "retro" was out, old movies/shows vanished and were replaced with endless marathons of ER, and repeats of recent theaterical films sent straight to TV via the newly acquired outlets.

  • @zillabob "Man, this was when cable TV was fun. TNT(and TBS and WGN were all "retro" in the mid-90's"

So true. I got cable tv for the very first time in 1996, and I was surprised and delighted to find all the classic movies and tv shows that I grew up watching on tv as a kid in the 1970s. (by the 1980s, cable tv was growing by leaps and bounds and was snatching away all the good stuff). Cable tv truly had an eclectic mix back in the mid 90s

  • Man i miss this ... TNT, what the hell, bring back MonsterVision. I didn't even get to see War of the gargantua's until a dvd release LAST YEAR. You tv bastards ... that's why I am not upgrading this digital shit ...

  • We should all write emails to bring MonsterVision back.

  • I agree about that.

  • This is back when TV had balls.

  • *sigh* TNT was great back then.

  • yup ^_^ they had alot of good stuff

  • Ahhhh the good old days back then.

  • TNT sucks Today.

  • This what happens when they let women make decisions at networks. We end up loosing our Godzillas, and the kids end up loosing a source of culture.

  • @LB74 you said it.

  • Good. but still i wish they Do is again.

  • LMAO!! i was 5 6 or 7 damn TNT has never been this cool...

  • I wasn't even aware of Godzilla's existence until 1996 (I was 5 at that time). I missed so much good shit back then.

  • wait a minute dude you didn't kown that godzilla existenced in monster movies Dammm MothmanHarbinger where you over 20 years dude.

  • If you subtract 1996 by 5, you get 1991, my year of birth. -_-

  • whant are you talking about .

  • I couldn't have been 20 at the time. I am currently 17.

  • why are you boring me about your age i don't even know you at all .

  • Okay...nvm. You're obviously clueless.

  • This was the best. Forget now a days things. This was the stuff that was the best.

  • Good song from Blue Oyster Cult.

  • The non-Godzilla monster movies, were FRANKENSTEIN CONQUERS THE WORLD and WAR OF THE GARGANTUAS.

  • Man, how did all these great channels become so bland and tasteless lately?

i almost forgot that TNT used to do this, that's how bad it's gotten.

  • Yea! TNT and the other clone nets are really lame now. I haven't watched TV since onset of DVD format.

  • TNT sucks nowdays. Bring back Monstervision and 100% Weird. The "We Know Boredom...er Drama" format they have now needs to go away!

  • I miss these days...

  • good times
