Oh my god. I cannot fucking get enough of HHLL's new shit. It's such a change for the better, sure they're not completely reinventing the wheel, but they are definitely doing something all their own with the new addition of the psychedelic/surf-rock-on-acid elements. Plus, now that they're tighter as a unit, their grooves are fucking liquid, flowing seamlessly into the next one which to me magnifies the FUN in their sound, which at the end of the day is what these bros are all about.
i don't think this song is bad nor amazing. but it's good, and i enjoy it. turt nip was a good album, but i rather much prefer EIWEIW or the fuck it ep. i have more to say, but i'll leave it at that.

Honestly, most of it is vocals. His voice sounds completely SHOT. On this and toxic shock is sounds all scratchy and raspy. I don't hate the new stuff, I like some songs on toxic shock, I just think overall it's gone downhill. I don't feel like their new songs have as much punch as the old ones, if you know what I mean. Stuff on EIWEIW would get really dissonant, and then slam back into the song with a sweet riff or breakdown. I personally just liked the older riffs better too. Just sayin'...
I understand where you're coming from with vocals. I think that he developed his style so that it's truly his instead of just a standard scream, and I personally like it, but I can understand how some people wouldn't. I think their music has pretty much stayed the same, though. I think turt nip and this are a little more psychedelic than EIWEIW, but they still have the same crazy, all-over-the-place sound that is pretty damn heavy. How have the riffs changed that much?

I don't know, man, I'm pretty sure he wants to sound like that, but I can understand why people think he shot his voice and don't like it. But even though they're stoners, he's still going to realize that he's fucking his voice and try to change it so it sounds the way he wants it to; He probably wants it to sound like that. Personally, I don't know exactly why, but I like it. Maybe because it's more personal than a generic screamo scream and it actually sounds like he's angry about something.
