This little Youtube vid began Nostalgia Critic, Ask That Guy, Bum Reviews, How to be a pirate, and Nostalgia Chick, aswell as a whole website and legends ahead
I saw Transformers on ABC last night. I don't get why the designs of every Transformer had to be so needlessly complicated. Good luck trying to keep track of what part becomes what, especially with all the close, constantly moving camera angles. Also, if Optimus Prime doesn't A) Have a mouthguard on his face at _all_ times or B) Doesn't have or use a Super Mode, then he's not Optimus Prime to me. Overall, I give it 4 out of 10. This film is only worth getting for the Rifftrax.

@ChiChiMooglet It's a Michael Bay film (Which for some reason is still a selling point for a movie, like M. Knight Shyamalan.) The humor is immature, vulgar, and not at all amusing or groundbreaking. The human subplot takes up too much time. The romance betweem LeBeouf & Fox is unconvincing. And to cap it all off, 45 minutes into the film, we finally see Optimus Prime. Oh, and why no Frank Welker as Megatron?! To like a Michael Bay film is to be ironic or an idiot who knows nothing about film.

Kids know all about these things now-a-days, unless the media had completely blown out of portion what children are knowledgable in, plus it's rated PG-13, hello that should give you a clue about the content. And no the transformations are not hard to follow, unless your looking at butterflies when they happen. It was done well, again, were you looking at butterflies or are you as ADHA as the Critic in the review?
@ChiChiMooglet I'm just a minor shut-in with a cleaner sense of humor. I missed the 1st 10 min & therefore the rating. I only thought the TF was complicated because it _was_, not to mention that the camera was close and constantly moving. The good thing about the cartoons is that they focused on 1-2 parts transforming at a time when a transformation occured. If you had only the cartoon to follow when you wanted to change OP from truck to bot, the cartoon would be sufficient instructions.
@ChiChiMooglet If you're thinking about just the marketing, then the movie's artistic integrity ends up taking the hit. Sure Batman and Robin was marketed for kids, sure it made about $100 million more than it costed. Unfortunately, it also meant an all-around bad movie, & with Clooney as Batman that's saying something.
My point? Studios have a habit of treating art as business. They don't care if a movie is a critical failure. As long as aliens blowing up The White House makes $800 million.
@PunchSydeiron I think it's funny how you bring up the Batman and Robin movie. That made me lol. Clooney is my least favorite Batman with Val Kilmer as my first. And of course I understand that the makers are just in it for the money and don't care about the art the do or don't create. That makes me sad.
@ChiChiMooglet Finally, we're on the same frequency on something! I understand that the people paying the money should have a say in how a movie is made, but the Bat Credit Card should've been a sign for Schumacher to ignore studio notes. The producers of The Simpsons do it, so I know it's possible.
And now for My final thought: Even though I thought Bay's decisions in Transformers were questionable, at least it's not Transformers 2 (Shudders.) I'll still get them both for the Rifftraxes.

They tried to give everyone what they wanted...the only reason I liked it so much was because of the Optimus Prime fight vs. 3 Deceptacons, including Megatron! I thought that was cool, and the fact it lasted for more than 2 seconds like the ending...that was terrible.
Yes, a Bat Credit Card crosses the line. In the critics review, I felt his insanity was completely called for.

Sure he said that he enjoyed it, but he had to probe for every little thing that didn't make sense. I'm not saying that Michael Bay's Transformers is the worst movie that I've ever seen, that dubious honor goes to Troll 2, followed closely by Joe Dirt. TF is somewhere in the middle of film's quality spectrum; not Citizen Cane, but not Monster A Go-Go, either.

Someone explain this to me.
Usually the NC hates every movie with even the slightest of logical errors, subpar storytelling, bad puns, and lack of decent characters. So why then does he LOVE the Transformers movies which have all of these flaws (and thensome) in spades?? :S
