  • I was speaking to an audience, not the camera.

    Rhett

  • Dude, look into the camera when you talk to us, as that’s where we’re looking at you from.

  • Wow what an intriguing story ! ! I'm impressed, someone was finally able to save a dam forest! I'd LOVE to work on some sort of rainforest project but it's all voluntary work and I simply don't afford to not earn money but if there is any job involving the rainforest in any way I would love to go down that road before I get too old! (I'm 27) Any suggestions?

  • @bluffr22: Well, the trick is to create your own job: If you find somebody who has something to gain from keeping the forest in good shape, you’ve found your job. :)

And to be honest, just about everyone on the planet has something to gain from it. As the death of the forest would mean the loss of so many plants useful for medicine, so many structures useful to architecture and engineering, and so much other cool stuff, even including people who like watching documentaries about it.

  • Hey so nothing has happened in 2011? how odd....

  • @Sara3346: Your ignorance and lack of informing yourself does not mean nothing happened.

  • Great message if I can be of any help keep me in your loop. My early tourism experiences in the congo led me to set up green tourism. Will have a look at your mongabay website

  • Outstanding job, young man!

FYI: Indian rosewood (in very small portions) is also used to make guitars (along with other African hardwoods).

We'll be in touch. Meanwhile, keep up the good fight!
