  • can you do this with free weights?

  • @superman1113215 - yes you certainly can. Works really well with dummbells. I take it that is what you mean as a straight bar is free weights. Baz

  • @BazBlog haha yeah thats what i meant, thanks a lot for your help

  • @superman1113215 - I thought you did and it is a pleasure. Baz

  • both... any good workouts? thanks for you help with your videos by the way!

  • @random7183 - I would do shoulder presses and some bent over side raises for rear delts. Shrugs are the best for me for traps. Lats respond really well to lat pulldowns. You can also do T bar rowing if you have one in your gym. Baz

  • @BazBlog thanks you so much! ill try them now!

  • @random7183 - good luck with your workout. Baz

  • I want to build more muscle on my back to provent injury... any tips?

  • @random7183 - Where on your back do you want to build? Is it your traps or your lats? Baz

  • Baz you obviously know your stuff... im 14 and 6"7' i have been doing 25kg barbell curls for about 2 months and also bench presses at 25 kg 25 reps 3 sets i have noticed a good amount of muscle growth. What would you recommend i do to pack on muscle i am 12st 3 ish and want to bulk out more for rugby

  • @random7183 - I would not go too much down the road of weights at your age. Your bone ends will still be fairly soft and you do not want to damage them. I will send you a training plan that will help you. Baz

  • Subscribed! Love your videos and it's helping me alot, thanks!

  • @martinh1232 - thanks so much for the sub. i am really pleased you like the videos. Baz

  • thanks baz bro

  • @haMzandCheese - pleasure my friend. Baz

  • Hi.Do you think i should be working my pectorals at age 15?Or is it still a bit too young?

  • @sniperguy1997 - I would do pushups 2/3 times a week 5 sets of 12 reps each. If you can do them too easily put on a back pack. When you turn 16 then use weights and do shoulder presses like I am showing. Baz

  • Hi Baz ,firstly thanks for all your videos, they have been a great help. My question is regarding shoulder training. Due to a number of injuries my shoulder development has always been a weak point,in your experience what is the best set to rep range for taking them to the next level,do you stick with the same weight for each set or do you pyramid up in weight, down in reps etc?

  • @Discoveringtheforest - I would get them in condition first. light weights 12 reps 5/6 sets. In a couple of weeks increase the weight and work 8-12 reps 5/6 sets. Try to increase the weight every week or 2 by a few lbs. After about 3 months go on to the pyramid training and push it. That is of course you are pain free and feeling good. Baz

  • I love your videos. Very helpful!

  • @ABSNproduction - thanks very much. Baz

  • hes in great shape 4 around 60!

  • @ItssJayy1 - thanks that is a very nice compliment. Baz

  • i will buy your dvd

  • @taotaosland - thanks so much you can find it on buildingmuscles org uk I have left the w's and dots out or it will not take the post. Baz

  • love this dude

  • @taotaosland - thats very nice of you to say. Baz

  • Hello Baz, i just injured my shoulder from bench press i guess, what can i do to fix it? and btw how can i train my chest without getting pains?

  • @MrRemuscsu - have the Dr check it out first. I would then do simple flat bench press with very light weight and make sure there is no pain. If it works then slowly over a few weeks increase the weight till you are back to normal. Try with dumbbells so you can adjust the weight at will to make sure there is no pain. Baz

  • Oh, and when you're military-pressing over 100kg, you can't -- and shouldn't -- keep your back straight. It's impossible. I've never once injured myself by leaning back. The natural curve of your spine protects against it, and you should be wearing a belt if you're moving heavy weight, in any case.

  • @mckeowndanny99 - I am not sure on this. Reg Parks used to press 350 lbs behind the head. I also just with common sense know that a curve with weight placed on it puts a lot more pressure on the curve and a straight line does not. Thanks for your thoughts though. Baz

  • That is not to belittle Baz and his exercises here. There is no doubt the man is built like a tank. It's just that overhead presses are hard on the shoulders when doing them normally; doing them from behind the neck puts serious pressure on the joints and will cause injury. Google it if you don't believe me. You'll find people like Ronnie Coleman, Christian Thibadeau, and a whole range of bodybuilders telling you it's a bad exercise.

  • @mckeowndanny99 - there are so many for's and against with this. Many people like Reg Parks did them all the time with no problems. Others will say it is the worst exercise around and then others will say it is the best. We all have our views and what I suggest if you feel any stress in the joint doing any of the exercises do not do them. Baz

  • I've been working out for the last decade, reading every blog and book I could find on bodybuilding, and there's one constant I've found in pretty much all these places. You should never lower the bar behind the back of your neck when doing a shoulder press. Not with light, medium, or heavy weight. It is the number-one cause of shoulder injuries in bodybuilding. The shoulders and triceps are not designed to move weight from that position. It's not natural. Don't do it.

  • @mckeowndanny99 - thanks very much for your thoughts and opinion on this. I have been training for over 45 years now and have never had a weight training injury. I damaged my shoulder badly playing rugby and funny enough doing shoulder press behind the head for me does not hurt at all and yet infront actually hurts me. Like i said this is like squats, people will never agree on how low you should go. Do what you feel is the best for you where there is no stress on the joint. Baz

  • Baz what do u think about arnold presses, are they better than regular shoulder presses?

Ive tried them and they seem to give a better pump than reg. shoulder presses

  • @remuscsu - I would not say they are better or worse. I will say this, they work. Just one look at Arnold will tell you that. It is up to you. If you believe something, it will work far better for you. Go with your heart my friend and good luck with the training. I am sure you will do well. Baz

  • i love how you handel theese jerks on youtube

  • @ThatTrackKid - I think the important thing is how you feel about yourself. If you feel good then whatever people say does not matter. It will only hurt when you believe what they are saying. Baz

  • Hey Baz Blog love your vids but i got a bit of a problem my back muscle is one sided meaning my right back shoulder muscle is much bigger then my left how do i fix this?

  • @PolishBoiDan - check out your posture. You might be dropping one shoulder which will make it look smaller. If there is a difference then use dumbbells and work the smaller side heavier then the bigger side so it has to adapt and grow while the other side will hardly grow. They will soon match. I did that with shoulders after an operation. Baz

  • I've been doing these exercises quite long and I've gained a whole mass of muscles on my arms and shoulders but I really just want to have nice vivid muscle lines and shape on my arm but how do I achieve this

  • @lalagushoru123 - a lot will depend on the food you eat. As you lose body fat you will have more definition. I would also train light with lots of reps. Great for muscle conditioning. Do some aerobics too as that will help a lot. Baz

  • I've been doing all of these exercise and all I have is mass on my arms and shoulders but I always just wanted to have the rigid lines and build on my shoulders but how do I achieve that

  • @lalagushoru123 - a lot will depend on your food. You need to lose body fat to have definition. You can do some aerobics and some light weights with lots of reps. Baz

  • @BazBlog thanks Baz!

  • @lalagushoru123 - pleasure. Baz

  • @BazBlog holy shit it works on me after 6 weeks. I noticed my triceps is bigger than my biceps and it looks weird my chest is not getting bigger also well maybe a little. any advice for chest?

  • @leonhart771 - I am glad that you are getting results. I would make sure that I am not over doing the training for chest. That means only 2 times a week and sticking to basic bench press with heavy weight and lower reps. Focused and controlled with each rep. Baz

  • @youareallchumps - then go and learn from your nana. I do not train or build myself to please you. Baz

  • Nice guy.

  • @DansHavis - thanks so much. Baz

  • where are ya from pal, your dialect is intriguing, its both brittish and pakistani????

  • @leviterande - I am originally from Zimbabwe and now live in the UK for the last 10 years. Baz

  • baz how is the fastest & best way to get some mass =) ?

  • @wannabeserpento99 - I think first is get your mind right and believe you will gain muscle fast. Then it is the food you eat. Have a look at the nutrition video. Then I would do mainly compound exercises. Bench press, shoulder press, deadlifts, squats, etc. I would not train each muscle more than 2 times a week and make sure your reps are 8-12 for each set. You have to be patient. Building muscles takes months not weeks. Expect to see some reasonable results in about 4 months. Baz

  • @BazBlog will you send me some info like you did for the other guys. I'm also 15 and new to working out I want to build muscle and loose a little fat

  • @jakeupxd - sure I will send you some info that will give you a great start. Baz

  • Good lad. Good vid. Useful stuff.

  • @withnail555 - thanks so much that is very kind of you. Baz

  • Where do i find your website ?

  • @Zortyy - it is on the profile page. I will try to give it to you hear. w's buildingmuscles org uk I have left the dots out as it will not accept a web address in these posts. Baz

  • @Bvicious96 - sure I will send you some info. Baz

  • hey Baz, I'm 15. i'm kinda new to working out. I want to build mass and get ripped. can you help me out?

  • @shahrizal108 - That is fantastic that you want to stay healthy. I will send you some information. Baz

  • @BazBlog im in a simular situation as shahrizal108 could you send me some information?

  • @halosparks - sure no problem. Baz

  • Its so interesting what you say about "shocking the muscles", I am just starting out but have found this to be very true already. Been wondering about it recently too... when I try a new exercise the muscles react fantastically well but then when I continue nothing much seems to happen lol, it glad you explained it all though, I guess the answer is alternating exercises then. Thanks for another great video ;-)

  • @1madaboutguitar - you only need to alternate exercise about every 6 weeks. Growth does not happen overnight. To see good gains will take a few months. The muscle shocking is only needed when you have got stuck after quite a few weeks of training. Then doing something quite different helps to stimulate the muscle to respond again. I hope that helps. Baz

  • @BazBlog It does yes, thanks Baz

  • @1madaboutguitar - NP. Baz

  • you look amazing baz ;) keer it up ! :D

  • @MrVebbis96 - thanks so much for that. Baz

  • The whole shock your muscles thing is absoulute bullshit. as long as your overloading them with weight they grow, So your telling me your chest isnt going to respond after benching for 6 months, oir your shoulders wont grow after 6 months of doing military press.

  • @Rotatez - gee it must be great to have all the knowledge you have. The Olymipans talk about it all the time and you find it is rubbish. Well I am sure you are going to be on the stage taking the title shortly. Then on your channel you can really help people. Baz

  • @BazBlog Yeah it might help with sports but not withing bodybuilding and powerlifting, theres only so many compounds you can do.

  • @Rotatez - what??????.

  • @Rotatez they will still respond but rest and or switching it up will give better results....but be mindless and do it your way

  • i like this fulla

  • @ParkourCarlton123 - Thanks very much. Baz

  • i need help, my left shoulder is much bigger and my right, my traps and everything are bigger on my left, why is this, i train them the same :(

  • @pavstaaaa - you might be standing with one shoulder lower then the other and that can make it look like that. If they are different sizes then I would use dumbbells and go slightly heavier on the smaller side and lighter on the bigger side. They should match in a fairly short time. Baz

  • Thank you for uploading your great videos. They have really got me more interested and motivated in building muscle and having a good diet too. Thanks

  • @betaversion089 - that is so good to hear. I hope you have the best of luck with your training. Baz

  • Thanks man I appreciate that

  • @jodatruthGod - pleasure my friend. Baz

  • If you feel that movement in your back, that can't be good

  • @golfdanpro3 - I think it is best to keep quite strict when lifting weights above your head. In fact any time you lift weights it is good to be in total control. Baz

  • im such a huge fan of urs!!!

  • @JacksonMichaelBAD - thanks so much that is very nice to hear. Baz

  • fantastic tips, keep up the help mate

  • @pavstaaaa - pleasure and I am glad you like them. Baz

  • Hi just wanted to kno if it's better to lift more weight or do more reps of a smaller one. Eg- 20 at 50kg or 10 at 25kg? Cheers

  • @mrsrose2be - it depends on what you want. If you want toget strong then low reps heavy weight. If you want muscle then 8-12 reps and medium to heavy weights. Baz

  • @BazBlog considering your age ur physique is great anyway :)

  • respect..

    -theEliasJoshua

  • @Rayzinhamonteiro - thanks. Baz

  • @Rayzinhamonteiro - much appreciated. Baz

  • Hey Baz..Thanks for your great videos..Just like to ask, how heavy should i go with the seated shoulder press? Im 5 foot 7 and 65 kg... Im currently at 35kg's...Thanks in advance.. :-)

  • @Jaxxxx251 - no one can suggest what weight you should train with. You are the only one who will know how strong you are. Start with a weight and if you find you can do it too easy then increase. If you find you fail before finishing the reps then go lighter. It really is very much trial and error. Keep a log of your training and you can always work from that. Baz

  • @BazBlog Ok Thanks

  • @Jaxxxx251 - pleasure. Baz

  • thanks blud, cool and good attitude, pleasant.

hope you did good in the comp'.

    see me on here....MUTUWALA

  • @MUTUWALA - thanks very much. I had to miss the comp because of a bad flu that lasted for like 6 weeks. Never mind there will be other times. Baz

  • good videos baz im trying to bulk up i always look at ur videos for tips. whats the best trap work out do u think?

  • @piratearmstrong99 that is great and make sure you eat rigt. that is the key to bulking. Of course lift quite heavy with lower reps. I find with the equipment I have shruggs is the best. I quite like up right rowing too. Baz

  • Hello, I am an 18 yr old kid, really looking forward to increase my shoulder size. My shrugs look good and my front deltoids are also kinda good but I really wanted to have a very effective exercise for the rear delts coz they are really empty! I do barbell press of 5reps for 3 sets with 35Kgs and Shoulder presses with Dumbells of 10Kg each <<< Looking towards your help! Thank you!

  • @FTPApoc - one of the best rear delt. exercises is bent over side raises. you can sit on a bench and bendo over so you chest is parrallel to the floor then do your side raises and you will work mainly the rear deltoids. Great exercise. Baz

  • @BazBlog Thank you!

  • @FTPApoc - pleasure. Baz

  • Hé Baz, besides the helpfull hints and good workouts, I think it's great you take the time too comment and answers all the questions you get (even by complete idiots). When you're 60 years old and still doing exercises like that; you have too respect that! Keep it up!

  • @rorybobdehaan - thanks so much that is a very nice comment and compliment. I really appreciate it. Baz

  • @BazBlog i agree with him aswell, your tips are exellent and your a really nice bloke, keep the videos coming!

  • @goldmine1995 - thanks so much. I appreciate the support as it means a lot to me. Baz

  • hey Baz, you know scooby1961?

  • @playa93ful - I do not know him but have heard of him. I believe he is very good. Baz

  • u need to keep working your shoulders harder :)

  • @suceavanet - no that is what you might want but Not what I want. At nearly 60 I am very happy with my shoulders and if I wanted them bigger I will make the bigger. Baz

  • @BazBlog Nearly 60? I hope I look like you when I get your age. My step dad is like 48-50 and his body looks like a sack of shit. I have a question, with limited money, I cant work out heavy, only medium weights, I am ripped, completely by genetics. So it is easy to add muscle, do I have to get big or can I just do medium-light weights and be with no wrinkles when I am 60?

  • @WhatsHappening783402 - thanks for the compliment. Your step dad could make a change if he wanted to. I did at age 56. Yes you can have a good build with medium weights but you should try to get more. I would do the reps slowly and hold each rep for the count of 2 so you can really feel the muscle working. With heavier weight it would be easier though. Baz

  • First things first, you are amazing at what you are doing, perfect form, perfect timing on th way down including the positives and negatives, but what would be better than a barbell would be using dumbbells more, increases your stability within the core and provides more stress on the muscles, yet great work !

  • @TheDeathCON12 - Thanks so much for the compliment. Yes I do like dumbbells too and often inter change. It depends on how I feel. Baz

  • Good vid dude, good luck with your comp. I usually go for sets of 3-5 on the Military Press like you showed, then finish up with DB works doing raises (front, side, rear)

  • @jzt26 - thanks very much but unfortunately I had to miss the comp as I was sick for over 6 weeks before the comp. I think you are doing the right stuff for your training and should get some great results. Baz

  • I thought it was a joke with some homeless guy when I saw the thumbnail, I love it when someone who apparently has gotten little results from bodybuilding, makes a DVD and tries to teach you how to.

  • @MichaelLakeberg - wow that is rich coming from you. I just looked at your channel. lol I think if you want to try to be insulting you really should do a much better job. I also hope that when you are nearly 60 you will be trying to help other instead of spending your time trying to make mindless statements. Baz

  • meat :D

  • @Maddoxification - ;-) Baz

  • I find that when I go behind my head on a shoulder press, my right shoulder clicks on the way up. I mainly stick to pressing in front of my face because of this. btw you look like you were a real scrapper when you were young, like Green Street Hooligans style.

  • @skudzer1985 - if you feel in any way the slightest bit of discomfort when doing shoulder presses in the joints do not do them. Stick to what you feel is right for you regardless what others might say. I was a bit rough in my younger days and did think things were sorted with a fist. I now think that was wrong and there are much better ways of doing things. Mostly to stay away from trouble. Baz

  • @skudzer1985 idk bro same thing happend to me with bench and shit i had tendonidous in my shoulder and elbow

  • @TheMrShankapotomus - How did you fix it? Baz

  • Hi Baz,

At 36 I've only started working out about seven months ago,its been pretty hit and miss mainly down to feeling quite intimidated when i go to the gym.But after watching some of your videos they've given me some great tips and feel I can really go and get some proper training done. Some pretty inspirational stuff, thanks

    Dekk.

  • @Dekkion101 - that is fantastic that you are now training. I have found that I really could not care who is in the gym and how they train. I train for myself and that is what is important. I am glad you do not feel intimidated any more. Go for it my friend. Baz

  • ur cool xD

  • @GreenGnome00 - thanks so much. Baz

  • @BazBlog i've heard the press behind neck thing is supposed to be wrong as your body isnt meant to go that far?

    are you a personal trainer?:)

  • @ironmaidenguitar - That is actually a matter of opinion. If you go down too low behind the head you can hurt yourself. If at any time you feel it is not a good exercise for you then you should not do it and that is regardless of any exercise not just this one. I do what I am comfortable with. Yes I do help a lot of different people. I keep it very simple. Baz

  • @BazBlog Thanks mate, your videos are mint by the way :D they've helped me alot .

    suscribed :)

  • @ironmaidenguitar - that is really nice to hear and thanks a ton for the sub. Baz

  • lol thats funny i just did this today i did it standing up though

  • @tuboricua123 - yes that is a good way to do it. Baz

  • Geat body for your age Baz

  • @ranganguha1 - thanks very much that is a great compliment. Baz

  • Looks great but doesn't it cause problems for the rotary cuffs?

  • @liammcfadden - Yes if you do not know how to do it. If you lower the weight too low. You should really not go lower then the ear level when working behind the head. Yet in front you can come right down to the chest. It is one of those exercises that if you do not feel comfortable doing it DO NOT DO IT. Baz

  • Wow, very good body for your age, respect :)

  • @Exiphi - thanks very much for the compliment. Baz

  • dude you seem like a really cool guy, i respect that

  • @nickstory - thank you very much for that. Baz

  • thanks for great tips sir ........its really work thanks again,,,

  • @azeem399 - pleasure my friend and good luck with your training. Baz

  • How did you do in the all natural competition?

  • @U2FOREVER101 - I had to miss it because of an injury just before the comp. Baz

  • Hey baz i have a question, would this sort of training/exercise help out a prop/hooker in scrums? i would really like to strengthen my shoulder and back so that i can last longer without getting sore in my games. Thanks

  • @lolaturfaces - I would do some deadlifts and squats. That will help you to get stonger legs and lower back. Eat well so have a look at the nutrition video for some tips. Baz

  • @BazBlog Thanks :) you really do reply quick man awesome!

  • @lolaturfaces - NP and thanks. Baz

  • what do you think about upright rows for shoulders, Baz? Also, do you recommend creatine for size?

  • @msmithstud - Up right rows are great for traps but do not do a lot for deltoids. Creatine is great for energy and strength. People think they get size from it because it will cause the muscle to hold a bit more water so the muscle will look bigger. I think it is a great product and one of the few supplements I use from time to time. Baz

  • On the back press, do not let your elbows drop past the 45 degree bend. When you add more weight, you may risk injuring your rotator cuff.

  • @justinthyme48 - You must do it to where you feel comfortable. I think you should not lower the weight any lower then the ear level. Baz

  • i thought going behind the neck was bad for shoulders?

  • @halfhott - some people say it is and other say it is not. I have never had a problem with it and so long as you do not go too low but come down to ear level you should not have a problem. If you have any doubts I would say do not do it. Baz

  • @BazBlog do you do full body or split workouts?

  • @halfhott - I do split workouts and never really do full body workouts. Baz

  • @BazBlog i guess i need to get into split workouts. and i like how you respond so fast

  • @halfhott - thanks and good luck with your training. Baz

  • J'aurai honte de donner des conseils et de passer sur internet si j'étais taillé comme ça et si je prenai ces poids de fillette. Heureusement le ridicule ne tue plus. Ridiculous don't kill him i see

  • @jflambelet - Firstly it is very rude to comment in another lanuage when this one is English. I am glad we all have opinions. I am very happy with my cuts that you claim I do not have. I really hope you will be able to say the same at 60. This is my channel and if you do not like it find another one. I really find it difficult to tolerate a fool. I look at your channel and you have nothing. This actually backfires on you. Baz

  • @BazBlog You are 60?! You look in your late 40s!

  • @ShoutOutHk - thank you so much for that compliment. Baz

  • hi buz- i have problem now for my sholders i got all front and midle deltoids but how can i got back deltoids please say me thx

    arthur

  • @Rockstarsss - you need to do bent over side raises for the rear deltoids. There is a video showing them. Baz

  • Baz you are a rollmodel!

  • @MrMas0ud - thank you so much. Baz
