I am getting ready to perform this solo in like a week and a half and I am totally freaking, but listening to you playing it has made it a lot easier to learn, so thank you! Also, I was just wondering if you had any tips for the measure at D when you have to do the trill with the grace notes and then the jump up because I am having a really difficult time with it. And this is going to be an even wierder question but do you play with holding down your right pinky for every note except d? Thanks

hmm....these are some very bitter and nip-picky criticism. could either of you play this piece flawlessly? could either of you memorize this piece? could either of you even imagine performing this life in front of a huge audience and a video camera. Let ye with no sin cast the first stone!

As for Micael, your comment for allegretto vs allegro is very insightful. Here is the reason why I chose this performance tempo (116 bpm).
Allegretto means less fast than allegro. When I looked at the metronome closely, 116 fits is just a few clicks slower than allegro. For me, this reflected my artistic choice and interpretation of allegretto.
I LOVE that you played this from memory. It's a wonderful thing to raise the level of flute performance to a standard formerly held by singers, violinists, cellists and pianists alone.

yeah although it is too fast, I think the mvmt sounds best at that speed. Her dub tongue in the final phrase was a bit sketchy though.
