this cover version is rarely covered by any musician, usually they covered the SRV version of wah pedal song of the first Voodoo chile slight return, that goes for Jimi hendrix as well, he never play this version live not that Ive known off anyway

Anyone who claims to be a fan of either gentlemen and is putting them down, show some respect. Winwood played on the original, Jimi was in awe of Clapton (then vice versa), and they are paying homage to their FRIEND. You may miss Jimi's music, but they also had his companionship and who can blame them for wanting to slow it down and kill Voodoo Chile. Eric is playing his ass off and Steve started early and can still belt it hard and soft at the same time. We are lucky they still walk among us

Sorry, I disagree with the comments thus far. I respect Winwood and Clapton very much, but - whilst it is lovely to hear this song resurrected - the gulf between this and the original is stark. I'm afraid Eric is a pale shadow, almost amateur in comparison to the master. Saying that, he'd probably be the first to admit it. If you disagree, I'll wager you're not au fait with electric ladyland. But thanks for sharing, I'm not knocking your efforts. But let's keep perspective...
