this is insulting, I would not trust a person that has not done any hands on training. I instruct first aid and will go to a clients house or worksite. I watched Top Gun so I should get my fighter pilot status? Sarah is going to forget the majority of that info as she is not going to have the tactile reinforcement to recall. It does'nt matter if a paramedic teaches the material or a certified instructor.
@wcresponder Have you looked at the training program? I ask because research has been done and continues to come out, that doing self paced learning helps with the cognitive portion greatly. ProTrainings also offers a skill evaluator lookup via BlendedCPR for the hands-on component. Flying a fighter jet is far from the same thing as learning a simple rescue skill. We would appreciate you actually taking a good look at our courses, and giving us a fair chance.
@procpr Reading a book or watching a video will never replace the need for hands on skill. I would not hire a lifeguard that has done on line training or a firefighter that has no hands on experience. give ya credit for trying something new. But if people don't make tiome to do things right then they shouldn't be licenced.
@wcresponder We agree with you on hands-on training. This is why BlendedCPR(dot)com exists, it's also why we have a Skill Evaluator Training program as well as a CPR Instructor Training program. We have people all over the country and the UK that are ready to check people's hands-on skills in a timely manner that is efficient for them. Plus, we're seeing signs that the AHA and Red Cross are heading toward Blended training as well.
