VideoGuyNC - not true. I agree that they shouldn't borrow, but whether the funds are borrowed or not doesn't speak in any way to the demographic trends that will prevent the system from working. We need a lot more babies, or people need to stop living so long. Neither is going to happen, so the RSPIC will need to do something else.
And, the RSPIC will also need to decrease federal debt by decreasing govt spending, but that's another story.
Actually - if the U.S government hadn't dipped their money-grubbing little claws into Social Security ONE TOO MANY times to get money for their pet WAR project - there would be MORE THAN ENOUGH money. We need to hand out eviction notices to the crooks in Washington, and put a REAL SMART PERSON in charge.
How do they know that there won't be enough young people to pay for the future old people. I would say it is uncertain. Their may be another baby boom - perhaps the biggest ever...who knows?
