We all know Karina's an AMAZING professional ballroom dancer. She wanted to win and she couldn't have made it w/o JR. He did the dance just as well.They both had the commitment of hard work, patience, endurance, That is called PERSEVERANCE! I'm PROUD of them both. Again, CONGRATS to JR and KARINA!

i have a feeling many seasons from now, people are still gonna talk about this freestyle. If i had to rank my top 5 freestyles this would definately be one of them. Man, i wish ricki and derek had this kind of freestyle, that may be the reason jr and karina won is the memorability.
@arh3474 I haven’t watched the show in 3 seasons & I'm NOT a fan of the show at all. IMO, what's tending to discourage me from watching OR makes it an unwatchable TV show, are the judges who are biased or rude towards certain celebs AND celebrities they pick aren’t my preferences. Not excluding the pros BUT Dwts’ about celebs learning to ballroom dance, and are, in it to win the MBT. I don't have favorite pro. They're all Gr8!I If there's a celeb I favor & is a good dancer, then I watch youtube.

@Davette7ify1 Geez! I get Ur point! But again for ME, the deal remains that I known plenty of males & females who have had broken engagements. They may not have TV to express their initial happiness but they tell eveyone they know and for various reasons they break up! For ME, again that has nothing to do with her talent! Most cant seem to separate that but I do! For all I know my pharmacist may have 10 broken engagements but as long as my prescriptions are right, that's what matters.

Why is Karina's relationships SOOOO important to folks? I know that Cheryl had a broken engagement also & that the only stable relationships have been Anna/Jonathan, Alex/Edyta, & Tony & his wife. Short of them, most of the Pros have torn thru relationships like no tomorrow, especially Mark & Derek. As a Karina fan & the only reason I keep DVRng this show is b/c of her and as her fan, I wish she would leave it because the show's fans are missing the point. She is a legend, married or single!

Again...After experiencing a change of heart or having too much on her plate, Karina will NOT be heading off to the Caribbean to wed MLB player Brad Penny. They announced their engagement a year ago and shared their plan of wedding on January 21, 2012.
Once, Again it was said, their schedules are too hectic to warrant a marital commitment at this time, but reported they're still together. IMO, I don't think Karina's really committed to marrying anybody. It look like Maks maybe right...
JR, you are an inspiration to us all! I think one of many things that people loved about JR is that he shows us, even after you've been through a lot of tragedy, you can still have fun and enjoy life!

I think it's interesting how she ended up dancing right in front of Maks,wonder if she knew that's where all the other pro's would be seated. I noticed he did everything he could to not look directly at her.
What an awesome finish with her hanging from him! Love them. I have this wish that they bring them back to dance later one day. So charming to watch and she is sweet and gorgeous.

For years she'd laughed off his advances but finally realized she had feelings for him, too. But I guess she didn't feel the same way he did. In Sept. 09 or 10, it was reported through AOL he dumped Karina b/c she's "TOO HIGH MAINTENANCE" and "LACKED INDEPENDENCE."
@cjoannem Maks asked Karina to marry him after dating for SIX Months, thinking she felt the same way he did. He thought she was ready to start a family, too. But, felt she was focusing on materialistic things. IMO, "People who pursue happiness through material possessions are liked less by their peers than people who pursue happiness through life experiences. Maks is missing finding true love to marry and start a family with. I guess he didn't think she was trust worthy or vice versa. Who knows?

@shyla336 Not true with Chelsea - good technical stuff but no warmth, no "fun" to her. Hines Ward deserved the win - the right person won. As for Mario, yes he was a good dancer - but he also has an extensive dance background which made him a ringer just like Nicole Scherzinger and Jennifer Grey. Even Ricki Lake danced on Broadway. Emmitt Smith was the right one to win Season 3. Like Len said, he is what the show is all about - someone who knows nothing coming on and learning how to dance.
@horseangels we all have our faves for different reasons. I personally love to watch amazing dancing, coupled with great chemistry w/ their partner & phenomenal portrayal of the character of the dance. That's why I most especially love Jennifer Grey. She was not professionally trained, she danced in one movie 25 yrs ago. She had natural grace that Derek was able to appreciate & with his choreography,translated to the most amazing performances.and she was passionate about dancing & performing.
@kritjnsn Actually Jennifer Grey WAS professionally trained. Even though Dirty Dancing was 25 years ago she was professionally taught for her role in that and it's like riding a bike - once you learn, etc., etc. etc. But even if you want to discount the movie, Jennifer had an extensive dance background before Dirty Dancing and danced on Broadway.
@horseangels@kritjnsn is right.. Jennifer Grey is NO professional dancer Patrick Swayze did confirm that. His widow said the same. They both attested to the fact that she had a great deal of natural talent that needed to be nourished. Patrick Swayze did that on DD & Derek Hough on DWTS.and she was NOT on Broadway. She was on a Dr. Pepper commercial.Regardless ...it's undeniable she is amazingly talented, she makes each dance look so effortless & fabulous:)
@shyla336 No disrespect intended to either of you but you're both wrong. Jennifer Grey is the daughter of Joel Grey and she danced from the time she was a child. The Broadway experience was still when she was young and before DD. But if you want to completely discount that, she had the training for DD and once you are taught and have the experience you can't "un-teach" yourself or "un-have" the experience. She was an expeirenced dancer on DWTS, a ringer with an unfair advantage.
@horseangels sorry but i strongly disagree The one huge advantage Jennifer may have is she's genetically blessed with natural grace & talent. I agree Joel Grey is very talented,a BIG name on Broadway, however that does not make her a Broadway star. Am sure she'll be amazing if given the opportunity, no doubt about that. With that being said, to get my point across, if my dad is a successful MD would that necessarily make me 1 too?JMHO
@oNegLeEk Jennifer's dad is indeed a big name in Broadway, but that does not make her a trained dancer. She danced 1 dance on Dity Dancing for more than 2 decades.If her natural grace & phenomenal talent as a performer gave her an edge in the competition,then let them be..

Maks was the first person to stand up and give this dance a standing ovation. I'm glad to see that he and Karina have made peace with each other...or are at least able to comfortably co-exist.
@kissmybrownass Speaking of Maks, it's his turn as well as those other prof. dancers( who still haven't yet won a MBT) to do so. Hopefully, their future pairings with other celebs would click like what had happened to Karina with JR. Since we already had 10 seasons of DWTS, the ff. already have MBTs--Derek has 3, Cheryl has 2, Mark has 2 ,Kim has 2 and Karina now has her 1st.
@rogersjtant Agreed. It would certainly be nice to see Anna, Tony and Maks win. I think I was more ecstatic for Karina winning that I was for JR, and you could totally tell she was nervous before they announced that they won.
@aprpbp Karina understandably was nervous because she knew that the results could go either way. Also, I recalled that on Season 3, she and Mario Lopez lost out to Emmet Smith and Cheryl Burke for the MBT. Ironically, for Season 13, she was on the same stage as Cheryl so it's like deja vu except now for a different result in her favor.

I would be too, especially given the fluctuation of the season (being at the top of the leaderboard one day and falling down it the next) as well as vying for a first time win. I'm simply pointing out that she was nervous, and that I am glad she finally got her first win. It's difficult not to be nervous when certain pros have a track record of winning the MBT more than once.

When I had said my earlier remarks, I was thinking in terms of what she may be feeling and thinking if this is deja vu all over again.I know you didn't say that she shouldn't be nervous at all.She was this close before but didn't make it. Only now. I hope this time, other prof. dancers have a chance to win a MBT. It'll take a compatible celebrity dance partner, hard work, luck and viewer support.
@rogersjtant Oh yeah, I agree - definitely takes someone with a personality that clicks with the pro and the celeb's willingness to work hard. That's why I was so disappointed when Anna didn't win with Evan - she was so close to winning and you could see she was sad Evan didn't win. It gets to be kind of redundant when the same pro wins. I know it is supposed to be about the celeb but it's hard not to want your fave pro to win, esp. when you watch the show for lots of seasons.
@kissmybrownass Actually it is definitely a "co-exist" situation. I was wondering about how they were getting on this season,and lo and behold,he did an interview with the N.Y.Post,just before the finales,saying he hasn't spoken to Karina at all since their break up. He was endorsing JR for the win,so the subject came up.He said it was hard,and often uncomfortable,but he just tried to go about his business while onset. He virtually never looks at HER when she and JR were in front of him dancing
@kissmybrownass I really think he only gave the standing ovation b/c of JR...not b/c of JR and Karina. It seems to me that it's like they are both walking on eggshells when they are around one another. But, they are professionals on a nationally televised show, so I guess they have to make the best of the situation. I would say props to them, but honestly, it's just what being professional is all about. I would definitely like to see them "make peace" but I doubt that will happen.

JR did well since the beginning. Had it not been for the injury, he would have had great scores in the weeks prior to the finale and he was no doubt the winner. Reason why people think that this is a sympathy vote was because the weeks after he got a 60, his scores started fluctuating and his winning the mirrorball was questionable. But seriously? He was one of the best dancers. For once, I'm glad of the outcome of the three finalists.

That being said, some sort of "Dancing With the Stars" vs. "Strictly Come Dancing" dance-off sounds like a fun idea...question is, who to get and b.) could it even be done? :D
And, I just think JR was thinking let's just get through these dances and wait for the results cause, he proved to America that he could dance w/ No dancing experiences in Ballroom and performing some difficult choreographed routine very well throughout the season. Me personally, never felt this was about his story, it was about his dancing, Because, this is called "Dancing With The Stars" rather they say he's a star Or Not. That don't mean a thing 2 me & Dwts ratings been going down every yr.
JR had been doing very well up to the Finale, and I'm happy they won!! I Loved the freestyle, It was very entertaining and Karina is Really a "Daredevil" in trusting JR to carry out those risky lifts. IMO, I felt JR was feeling the pain of his injured ankle, although he said he was okay, but didn't dance like he was okay. His Final dances was just okay with the exception of his Instant Samba..Didn't like the changes in the Jive to make the judges happy. It didn't mesh with the song

They began dating about six months in Sept. 08 or 09, and Maks told reporters that he secretly "LOVED" her for a long time. For years she'd laughed off his advances but finally realized she had feelings for him, too. But I guess she didn't feel the same way he did. In Sept. 09 or 10, it was reported through AOL he dumped Karina b/c she's "TOO HIGH MAINTENANCE" and "LACKED INDEPENDENCE."

@cjoannem Maks asked Karina to marry him after dating for SIX Months, thinking she felt the same way he did. He thought she was ready to start a family, too. But, felt she was focusing on materialistic things. IMO, "People who pursue happiness through material possessions are liked less by their peers than people who pursue happiness through life experiences. Maks is missing finding true love to marry and start a family with. I guess he didn't think she was trust worthy or vice versa. Who knows?

@shyla336 Not true with Chelsea - good technical stuff but no warmth, no "fun" to her. Hines Ward deserved the win - the right person won. As for Mario, yes he was a good dancer - but he also has an extensive dance background which made him a ringer just like Nicole Scherzinger and Jennifer Grey. Even Ricki Lake danced on Broadway. Emmitt Smith was the right one to win Season 3. Like Len said, he is what the show is all about - someone who knows nothing coming on and learning how to dance.

@horseangels we all have our faves for different reasons. I personally love to watch amazing dancing, coupled with great chemistry w/ their partner & phenomenal portrayal of the character of the dance. That's why I most especially love Jennifer Grey. She was not professionally trained, she danced in one movie 25 yrs ago. She had natural grace that Derek was able to appreciate & with his choreography,translated to the most amazing performances.and she was passionate about dancing & performing.

@kritjnsn Actually Jennifer Grey WAS professionally trained. Even though Dirty Dancing was 25 years ago she was professionally taught for her role in that and it's like riding a bike - once you learn, etc., etc. etc. But even if you want to discount the movie, Jennifer had an extensive dance background before Dirty Dancing and danced on Broadway.

@horseangels @kritjnsn is right.. Jennifer Grey is NO professional dancer Patrick Swayze did confirm that. His widow said the same. They both attested to the fact that she had a great deal of natural talent that needed to be nourished. Patrick Swayze did that on DD & Derek Hough on DWTS.and she was NOT on Broadway. She was on a Dr. Pepper commercial.Regardless ...it's undeniable she is amazingly talented, she makes each dance look so effortless & fabulous:)

@shyla336 No disrespect intended to either of you but you're both wrong. Jennifer Grey is the daughter of Joel Grey and she danced from the time she was a child. The Broadway experience was still when she was young and before DD. But if you want to completely discount that, she had the training for DD and once you are taught and have the experience you can't "un-teach" yourself or "un-have" the experience. She was an expeirenced dancer on DWTS, a ringer with an unfair advantage.

@horseangels sorry but i strongly disagree The one huge advantage Jennifer may have is she's genetically blessed with natural grace & talent. I agree Joel Grey is very talented,a BIG name on Broadway, however that does not make her a Broadway star. Am sure she'll be amazing if given the opportunity, no doubt about that. With that being said, to get my point across, if my dad is a successful MD would that necessarily make me 1 too?JMHO

Maks was the first person to stand up and give this dance a standing ovation. I'm glad to see that he and Karina have made peace with each other...or are at least able to comfortably co-exist.

Hopefully, their future pairings with other celebs would click like what had happened to Karina with JR. Since we already had 10 seasons of DWTS, the ff. already have MBTs--Derek has 3, Cheryl has 2, Mark has 2 ,Kim has 2 and Karina now has her 1st.

Also, I recalled that on Season 3, she and Mario Lopez lost out to Emmet Smith and Cheryl Burke for the MBT. Ironically, for Season 13, she was on the same stage as Cheryl so it's like deja vu except now for a different result in her favor.

I would be too, especially given the fluctuation of the season (being at the top of the leaderboard one day and falling down it the next) as well as vying for a first time win. I'm simply pointing out that she was nervous, and that I am glad she finally got her first win. It's difficult not to be nervous when certain pros have a track record of winning the MBT more than once.

When I had said my earlier remarks, I was thinking in terms of what she may be feeling and thinking if this is deja vu all over again.I know you didn't say that she shouldn't be nervous at all.She was this close before but didn't make it. Only now. I hope this time, other prof. dancers have a chance to win a MBT. It'll take a compatible celebrity dance partner, hard work, luck and viewer support.

@rogersjtant Oh yeah, I agree - definitely takes someone with a personality that clicks with the pro and the celeb's willingness to work hard. That's why I was so disappointed when Anna didn't win with Evan - she was so close to winning and you could see she was sad Evan didn't win. It gets to be kind of redundant when the same pro wins. I know it is supposed to be about the celeb but it's hard not to want your fave pro to win, esp. when you watch the show for lots of seasons.

@kissmybrownass Actually it is definitely a "co-exist" situation. I was wondering about how they were getting on this season,and lo and behold,he did an interview with the N.Y.Post,just before the finales,saying he hasn't spoken to Karina at all since their break up. He was endorsing JR for the win,so the subject came up.He said it was hard,and often uncomfortable,but he just tried to go about his business while onset. He virtually never looks at HER when she and JR were in front of him dancing

@kissmybrownass I really think he only gave the standing ovation b/c of JR...not b/c of JR and Karina. It seems to me that it's like they are both walking on eggshells when they are around one another. But, they are professionals on a nationally televised show, so I guess they have to make the best of the situation. I would say props to them, but honestly, it's just what being professional is all about. I would definitely like to see them "make peace" but I doubt that will happen.

JR did well since the beginning. Had it not been for the injury, he would have had great scores in the weeks prior to the finale and he was no doubt the winner. Reason why people think that this is a sympathy vote was because the weeks after he got a 60, his scores started fluctuating and his winning the mirrorball was questionable. But seriously? He was one of the best dancers. For once, I'm glad of the outcome of the three finalists.

And, I just think JR was thinking let's just get through these dances and wait for the results cause, he proved to America that he could dance w/ No dancing experiences in Ballroom and performing some difficult choreographed routine very well throughout the season. Me personally, never felt this was about his story, it was about his dancing, Because, this is called "Dancing With The Stars" rather they say he's a star Or Not. JR had been doing very well up to the Finale, and I'm happy they won!! I Loved the freestyle, It was very entertaining and Karina is Really a "Daredevil" in trusting JR to carry out those risky lifts. IMO, I felt JR was feeling the pain of his injured ankle, although he said he was okay, but didn't dance like he was okay. His Final dances was just okay with the exception of his Instant Samba..Didn't like the changes in the Jive to make the judges happy. It didn't mesh with the song
