The whistle sounds like an SP 5 chime. I know cause during the 2010 FWRHS open house i was hostler when the SP 5 chime was installed on the fireman's side. I was the one who blew it during the domonstrations.
It's probably a feed water heater, it heats the water going into the boiler so it takes less time to heat and turn into steam. But i may be wrong because Canadian heaters are usually above the smoke box
That's probably the best sounding Canadian "tin-can" bell around! I know, it's flat and not very melodic, but it doesn't get on your nerves hearing it over and over again like so many other bells.

it's probably an air tank since their seems to be a heater on top of the smok box that i did'nt see.
